    Why

Certainly God does choose people for specific purpose. I don’t think anyone deny’s that. This isn’t about Calvinism( I take exception with certain doctrines like Tulip). What does scripture say? John chapter 17 really lays out the theology of the the Father and Son and those that were choose and...

    Why

What about the man of lawlessness(The Anti-Christ)? He will be born a man. Does he have a choice as to whom he will be or has God ordained that particular individual to be the son of perdition?

    Why

Actually, it’s more of Augustine of Hippo view of predestination. You cannot deny there is a soiled theme of this throughout scripture.

    Why

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them and I will raise them up at the last day. John 6:44. So was does the Father initiate this or it is the individuals own doing?

    Why

God chooses us and not the other way around. I hear a lot of Christians say ”You need to know the Lord”, but a more theological and truthful response would be “Does the Lord know you?”

Interpreting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus: It's Really Good News!

Jesus was talking about the resurrection of all people. Everyone will be resurrected in physical bodies that are eternal. Some to be with God and others to βάσανος.

    Dont Be Led Astray

Good visualization. I also see that ad well. What else I see are sheep going over a cliff. A herd of sheep are not the most intelligent creature as they easily scare and will follow each other into danger. As Jesus said, He is the good Shepard and His sheep know his voice.

Interpreting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus: It's Really Good News!

Now you’re starting to get in the territory of what is the true Church and that becomes quite dangerous. Now you’re starting to get into the territory of what is the real church and that is dangerous. The church body are those that belong to Christ and have a unity with Him through the Holy...

Interpreting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus: It's Really Good News!

You’re response is not in line with what scripture teaches. The doctrine of Annihilation has never been a core belief held by any major denomination. I know you don’t like the idea of conscious torment, but that doesn’t dismiss it. Does "worldwide" qualify a denomination as "major"? The...

Interpreting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus: It's Really Good News!

What's the punishment? IT'S DEATH! Not "eternal torment", but death. If the wages of sin was eternal torment, the only way Jesus could take away our sin debt would be that HE BE ETERNALLY TORMENTED. Please think about that for a while. You’re response is not in line with what scripture...

Interpreting the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus: It's Really Good News!

I think what is being lost in this forum is that Jesus is not just giving a warning, but describing what is reality. Yes hell is real and yes a great number of people will end up there.

Do Jews still believe the Messiah is coming?

Most Orthodox Jews do believe the messiah will come. This varies of course. I do listen from time to time to different Rabbi’s as I’m interested. This guy is not a Rabbi, but it gives you kind of an insight:

I was just curious as I have only really heard this position coming from Mormons.
