    Election, that most contentious doctrine.

This isn’t a “Got you” question. Didn’t Jacob sin as well? I am just asking where you sit before I know where you stand.

Right, but neither child had been born yet. Neither had committed any acts of evil. Why did God hate Esau before he was born?

Just because one is Jewish, does not indicate they are part of the election of salvation. The Jews as an ethnic people who where chosen as the people whom the messiah would be revealed. Paul is using a figurative analogy. Christ who came through Abraham the is the vine in which gentiles are...

So by that, wouldn’t God also have a foreknowledge of others who will not be saved? In addition, does God hate some that he has created?

    Election, that most contentious doctrine.

There is a continuous narrative of the notion of election though out the OT/NT. That certainly is apparent. I didn’t always post verses as I think people should validate the claims based on their merit and not what my opinion may be. Of course there are verses that seem contrary to that. How do...

    Trinitarian analogy

Jesus said God is spirit. That would encompass the whole Trinity(Of course not during the incarceration). Like another poster and I alluded to, this is anthropomorphism or figurative language. As for Matthew Henry, I do believe I have heard of him, but I haven’t down much research.

    Trinitarian analogy

So was Jesus misquoted when He said this? BTW, I don’t know who Mathew Henry is, but I will look him up?

    Trinitarian analogy

That’s a figurative type of writing. God conveyed to humans that he is spirit and does not have physical attributes. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth. John 4:24

    Your lifespan (Psalm90:10)

I have never heard of Combinatorics before today. Of course it’s an advanced form of mathematics, so I’m not even going to try and understand. Some things are just beyond my limits. Still, it’s interesting to look into.

    Your lifespan (Psalm90:10)

When my destined time comes, nothing can prolong my eventual physical death. It’s already been determined. Sounds fatalistic, but it’s the truth.

    Election, that most contentious doctrine.

I do think there is enough scriptural evidence to support the notion of “Election”. This has been a point of contention for centuries within the Christianity. Calvinism or Arminianism. Truth is God can do whatever He chooses. No one deserves salvation, and if God pre-destined certainly...

    Are we arians?

Wasn’t Arianism overwhelmingly rejected at the first council and ultimately Aruis was banished? I thought the Nicaea council was to establish the one God in three persons theology?

I have had conversations prior with this particular poster.

    Trinitarian analogy

Oh please. The OP asked what analogies have people heard of. That’s not an indication they should be taken as literal or that anyone is attributing that to God.
