Moving on from the basics Heb 6:1-3

Because we live in a fallen world... if every person that believers prayed over was healed, then very few people would ever die. That was not a "get out of jail free" card... it was instructions about how to go about petitioning God for miraculous intervention. I have seen miraculous healings...

A Classic Conundrum -- Should Cookies Be Chewy or Crispy?

There's a place here for all of God's creatures...... even the really ODD ones that don't like craisins.... they give just the right amount of tart accent to a really chewy oatmeal cookie... preferred over plain ol' raisins... They are also wonderful in oatmeal, with some brown sugar...

A Classic Conundrum -- Should Cookies Be Chewy or Crispy?

Sort of depends on the cookie.... some cookies are just better slightly crispy. One of my "specialties" is chocolate chip cookies.... it's an old, secret famiy recipe, like Phoebe on "Friends"..... Nestle Toll-House ..... I substitued crisco for butter, which fluffs them up .... I cook them...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

 I don't see a connection here with OSAS, trinity, etc... See my comments in post 369 in response to the "Cornelius issue"

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

again... simply because Jesus forgave her sins, does not mean she was saved. And, again, this was before the kingdom had even been established. Her sins were forgiven, just like the Jews' sins were forgiven after an animal sacrifice. She was saved from being stoned to death under the...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

This is because it was understood that if you believe, you will obey God's plan, which includes baptism. If you don't believe, of course you won't follow God's plan, no need to mention that you would not be baptized... it is understood. I agree, one must first believe..... Peter tells us that...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

That whole passage is about the "washing away of sin" through baptism. It talks about Noah, how he and his family were saved, through the washing away of the sins of the world by the flood.... and Peter says that baptism is like that... our sins are washed away in the waters of baptism...we...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

I'll have to research this practice a bit.... I know that there were "odd" beliefs here and there, but I've never heard of putting off baptism until just before death... There is no shortage of man-made traditions in church history... my dad tells of how churches in the 1800's and early...

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

Of course he did... he is the only one that could. That is why we are baptized in his name, into his death... That's why John's baptism wasn't enough.

Saul of Tarsus was not saved on the road to Damascus.

Well, unlike some of you, I do not live on this forum... I actually work for a living. Sometimes there is a delay in response... sorry if that hurts your feelings, but, here we are. Secondly, he did not mention the time-frame when this baptism postponment took place.... it could very well...
