    Understanding God’s election

Let's start with this CRITICAL question ... Do you understand the deplorable condition of the human race? i.e. that they are all born with an inherited sin nature i.e. that they are greatly hindered by their mortal enemy, Satan and his fallen angels (evil spirits, demons)

Unable to Believe the “Foolish” Gospel

The "hopeless condition" refers to people who cannot believe in Jesus and the Gospel on their own, i.e. without God's intervention. God must provide the faith to believe!

Unable to Believe the “Foolish” Gospel

Sorry, everyone ... I meant on their own, with no help from God

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, congrats, methunks thou has the right idea ... which is more than I can say for Moderators on some other Forums. Many believers are hung up on their age-old doctrine instead of being open to Scriptural Truth.

Unable to Believe the “Foolish” Gospel

Because of what is clearly stated in the NT … unredeemed man is NOT able to believe in Jesus and the “foolish” Gospel … due to a multitude of reasons! (The Gospel is “foolishness” to those who are perishing, 1 Cor. 1:18) Here are some of the best NT passages which testify to this: Inherited...

    Understanding God’s election

Yes, absolutely, but let's focus first on getting people saved, which means preaching the Gospel to everyone ... so God can give the elect-called-chosen the faith to believe!

    Understanding the Incarnation

Of course, but God couldn't find anyone on earth who was without sin, so He sent the Word (who was God) to become His Son to do the job. I've always thought that ... if He could have found someone else, God Himself would not have had to come and do the job. Why did God Himself have to die for...

    Understanding the Incarnation

Sorry, but it's all about semantics. Before the Incarnation, He was called "the Word". After the Incarnation, Gabriel said to CALL Him "Jesus" and "the Son of God". Jesus, the God-Man, did NOT exist pre-Incarnation. Jesus, the God-Man, did exist after His ascension.

    Understanding God’s election

YES! ... This is the crux of the whole matter: God chooses to bless (save) some, while leaving the rest to their own devices and suffer the justice of God. As the OP explains ... God has His reasons for blessing (saving) some of fallen humanity. #1 it shows His mercy and grace (unmerited favor)...

Where did I ever deny the Deity of Jesus?

    Understanding the Incarnation

Scripture makes it clear that both the Holy Spirit and the Word played their part in the "creation" or "forming" of the Baby Jesus! You are failing to understand, and/or refusing to believe, several key verses in Matthew, Luke, and John.

    Understanding the Incarnation

OK, I see now ... Jesus Christ, the Word, created Himself.

    Understanding God’s election

Thou art correct ... God is NOT obliged to save anyone!

    Understanding God’s election

Years ago, I met a young Christian lady (with a Masters degree) who said she could NOT love a God ... who would take her mother to heaven, but send her father to hell. We just must take God at His word. He blesses those He wishes to, and He leaves the rest to their own devices. The OP explains...

    Understanding God’s election

Jesus wants EVERYONE to be evangelized because the elect are in this group. News Flash ... The elect need to hear the Gospel, so they can respond to it. We are talking about HOW and WHY people respond with belief. E.G. After God opened Lydia's heart, she responded with belief. Second News...

    Understanding the Incarnation

Let’s investigate and see if we can possibly get a solid understanding of the Incarnation (birth) of Jesus Christ. You will see below … In the beginning, the Members of the Holy Trinity were God the Father, God the Word, and God the Holy Spirit. Many churches teach that the Son of God (Jesus...

    Understanding God’s election

That's the whole point of the OP, isn't it! Man is totally unable to believe in Jesus and the Gospel. Like Lydia in Acts 16:14, man needs God to give the necessary faith. But, He choose who to give it to, and who not to give it, as Romans 9 especially teaches us.

    Understanding God’s election

I thought God's grace means His UNMERITED FAVOR. But, thanks for the new definition!
