    Some thought about "Jews"

And another thing... Let's say God needs a people: those who are not only received by Him but those who receive what God has done and IS doing. Is there any record of that specifically in the scripture? Sure. 1 Peter is written to "To the pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia...

    Some thought about "Jews"

That's not the revelation God showed Paul: "But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, So, not everyone from Jacob is God's Israel. He continues in case anyone wanted to skip Jacob and go all the way to Abraham: "..nor are they all...

    Understanding God’s election

Yes! We who have been baptized into Christ have been baptized into his death. The promise of that death is to be raised with new life, just as God raised Him from the dead.

Jesus is The King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords. Who are the Kings in this verse?

Yes, when the king of Kings is your father, then you are royal. When we function within the covenant of our father, we are priests. The current covenant in Christ is the reconciliation of man to God.

    Jacob's Ladder or God's Ladder? (Gen 28:10-32:2)

This is in Genesis: "Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it." Yeah, the ladder is Christ... This is in John: "And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you...

Just so you know. Daniel 7:25

It reminds of the error of “three wise men” visiting Jesus. The maji were never numbered but three gifts were given.

    Theological Altruism

I got in trouble once (once?) for telling someone that the gospel was not a social or moral message.

    Bride of Christ

Do you think when the writer of Hebrews wrote this: But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the...

    Bride of Christ

We think of a city and we think of it’s infrastructure: roads, utilities, buildings, bridges, etc. At its purest form, a city is simply a collection of people governed by the same code. Think of what would happen to the people who lived in a physical city if there were no laws of conduct...

Just so you know. Daniel 7:25

When I search the verse, “heavens” comes up. Maybe I’m missing something?

    Bride of Christ

Yeah, I know what it says. I don’t believe it means a physical city. Like regarding the “mansions” passage that’s always read at funerals: John 14:1-5 is often read a funerals. I believe this practice misses the meaning of the scripture. John 14:2-6 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if...

    Bride of Christ

There are other places like that in Revelation.. In one place we read “behold, the lion of the tribe of Judah…” next verse ”And I looked… and behold, a lamb as though it had been slain…” So, John hears “lion” but sees “a lamb”. So, we read “I will show you the bride…” But John looks and sees...

Just so you know. Daniel 7:25

I’ve always know the Genesis verse as “heavens”. I guess I’ll need to see some more evidence.

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

Of course. Scripture says so and scripture is one way God speaks to us.:)
  16. Aaron56

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

Ironically, the scripture attributes the authority of truth to a person. And He has delegated that responsibility to the Holy Spirit.

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

Yes! God tells the story in a way that benefits man; a most common denominator kind of approach. It’s a worthy endeavor to search out what is not obvious.

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

I’m certainly not forcing anything. I believe my understanding come from time with the Lord. And I certainly don’t begrudge someone who thinks otherwise. :giggle:
  19. Aaron56

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

    I think he meant “ultimately”.

Are you a body with a soul, or a soul with a body?

Annihilated. No longer existing. We cannot read “forever” and insert perpetuity. It often means “until the end of the age” or “to completeness”. When God is all in all there is no more darkness, demons, or evil.
