Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

Well there goes your whole thread then. Is it not conjecture for you to insist that Cain could only offer the fruit of the ground just because he was a tiller of the ground?

Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

The text doesn't tell us that Cain didn't have access to a lamb.

    Why grace???

Because He's gracious. It's what He does. Psalm 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men ...

Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

But but but ... the plumber baked some cookies to share at work, the electrician plunged the sink drain, and the butcher reset the circuit breaker. We all do lots of things we don't get paid to do.

Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

No one said they had to. Cain could have offered a lamb. All he had to do was go to Abel's Flock Mart and plunk down two cucumbers and a cherry. (The cherry was for the lamb and the cucumbers were Uncle Sam's cut.) Righteous Abel would have been glad to give his big bro the family discount...

Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

No. Who said it had to be from his labor?

Why was Cain's offering rejected by God?

I think it was because Abel's offering was a blood sacrifice.

    Jesus's sacrifice

Adam & Eve sinned. God "pronounced sentence" on an innocent animal so they could be clothed. Have you heard of animal sacrifices in the Old Testament? Those animals were innocent. Have you heard of the Lamb of God?

    Jesus's sacrifice

These verses might be why you hear words to that effect: 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken...

18th Amendment is enforced by new act

A few months from now, America and non-medicinal alcohol part ways. Such is the gist of the Volstead Act, which will take effect January 16. After that, Americans may not legally make, sell, or transport intoxicating liquors, which they like to call "hooch". The measure is designed to enforce...

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

Good post. I said earlier that the sons of God were saved men and that the daughters of men were unsaved women. But the more I think about it, it might just be a reference to men and women in general. In Psalm 82:6 it says of unjust judges who "walk on in darkness", "... all of you are...

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

No. The result was children. Those children had yet to be raised and grow up. Then they became mighty men and men of renown. The text doesn't say that their parents' sex union was the cause of them becoming "mighty men which were of old, men of renown". The giants already existed.

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

. In the video at 16:21, the narrator says that the gods of Psalm 82:6,7 were "not men" in his attempt to prove that the gods - children of the most High are "heavenly beings". That couldn't be true because God calls these gods to repentance: How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the...

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

Using terms in different ways isn't contradicting.

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

Job isn't Genesis and Genesis isn't Job. The term can be used different ways.

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

The sons of God in Genesis 6 were men, not angels. :) Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of...

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

The passage doesn't say that the sons of God corrupted the world or brought about the judgment of the flood. The passage doesn't say that the sons of God perished in the flood. Saved people die. They could have already been dead by the time of the flood.

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

Both of those views are bogus. The Bible (including Jude & Peter) doesn't reveal that angels knocked up women. And the lines of both Seth & Cain are purely flesh, not spirit. The sons of God are saved men. The daughters of men are unsaved women. Nothing more.

Genesis, sons of God, nephilim, and Giants

I agree with the first part; the sons of God are believers. But I think the daughters themselves were unbelievers.

    Jesus birth and childhood

I take it that you don't believe in the inerrancy of the Bible. I do. Matthew's and Luke's accounts are God-breathed Scripture. They're in perfect harmony with each other and never contradict one another. I was merely suggesting ways to interpret the chronology of events because I thought...
