    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

True I haven't looked hard into this "debate". I'm not cahtolic, never have been and never will be. The things the catholic church has done and are doing is in direct contradiction to the teachings of Christ. Just because the catholic church killed men for translating the bible in no way...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

That's a problem I have. You can pick any subject and the "experts" will not agree. Which expert is right. That's why I rarely read books written by men because they are fallible. I really could careless how "they" see things. God's book is not flawed and yet many "experts" have very...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

The King James Version Debate: A plea for Realism I asked our preacher for his opinion, and he gave me the book to read.

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I've picked up a book on this. I've never looked into this before. I've always used my common sense which tells me unless God inspired those in the 17th century (which I don't believe), then what makes them better translators then men of the 20th century that also translate word-for-word.

What if you die before water baptism?

Absolutely. One interesting note. After Jesus gives that command, we only read of baptism in the name of Jesus. 16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ...

    Works and Salvation

I respectfully suggest you're still not telling me Paul's point from chapters 2-3 and how Abraham in chapter 4 proves the point. No need to go to other books, Paul gives plenty of detail in the context. Once you see the point Paul is making, that will clear this up.

What if you die before water baptism?

From my experience, most of those who do not believe baptism is necessary are the cherry pickers. They ignore passages that establish the necessity of baptism and they pick passages that have nothing to do with baptism. Obedience is exactly what God wants. 4 I will multiply your offspring...

What if you die before water baptism?

I believe baptism is necessary in order to be saved. I do have an opinion on those questions but I suggest there is a bigger problem here. Is that really how one determines doctrine? If what one perceives the bible saying will pass their hypothetical question? Words are how thoughts and...

    Paul's gospel.

May I suggest that Acts 3 is not the first sermon Peter preaches and therefore will not fully represent the gospel he is proclaiming because some precedents set in his first sermon are missing. Romans is a letter Paul writes to Christians he has never met. Are you familiar with the first time...

    Works and Salvation

I respectfully suggest based on the context you're still missing something. I'd rather not tell you out right because I'm afraid you won't fully consider the context. Sufficient context would be from 3:19 to 4:17. Paul asks this question. How then was it counted to him? Can you point to...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I agree that there should be no adding or taking away and that warning applies to all scripture. I agree a lot of the really modern translations can and do lead to believing false doctrines and I do not recommend them. I don't trust post KJV translations that are not word-for-word. One can...

TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!

Your first point confuses me a little. No one in Christ is unsaved. I agree they are unsaved and therefore outside of Christ. I'm sure we can both agree there is only one way they can be saved. Since they are out side of Christ and deny Christ, do you believe they are still God's people?

TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!

Not sure where you stand based on your reply but I do have one question. What was their intended purpose?

    Paul's gospel.

I hope to challenge each others understanding of truth as well. That's why I do this. By challenging others, I not only challenge their understanding but what I understand as well. I somewhat agree with everything you have said except on part. I won't mention that part right now because...

TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!

Then they don't understand. It would not earn them more points with God but anger Him. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!

Since they have not accepted the gospel, what does that make them?

TEMPLE......TO BE OR NOT TO BE....THAT IS MY QUESTION!!!!!

What daily sacrifices? 11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,

    Paul's gospel.

I suggest to you the 12 preached the same gospel as Paul. When Jesus and the 12 went around proclaiming "the kingdom was at hand", that was before Jesus's death, burial and resurrection ( the gospel 1 Cor. 15:1-5). After His death, He sent the 12 out to preach the gospel, not to just the Jews...

    The Error of KJV-Onlyism

I don't understand it either. I guess the rest of the none English speaking world is lost without being able to read the KJV. It's my personal opinion people are afraid of new better word-for-word translations because they would have to admit they might be wrong. For example, I don't...
