or trust fund kids...?

I think if you were born in a certain generation it was hard to even obtain a mortgage for a first home, let alone enough for a deposit on a house. Not that there are many affordable homes available. Plus supoorting the family you already have...

I am glad they are both wearing pyjamas.

I noticed in my pyjama thread some people refuse to wear them. I am supposing those same people walk around naked in their living room

Personally I cant picture married life where you go round wearing no clothes.

Plenty of people, including myself, aren't refusing to wear pajama; they just don't see the need of it at all.
I just take off pants and go to bed with a t-shirt/boxer on. They don't walk around naked.

If I were married, each Friday night, I would split the bread and have communion with my wife. That's what I really want in life.

We’d have a relationship and understanding where God is first.

Lots of talking, adventures (even little ones), challenging one another, supporting each other, praying with and for each other.

Ideally, the best friendship.

I imagine a good balance of tears, laughter and hand holding. 😁 💗

Well there ARE a lot of people who get married for only that reason... Those couples don't seem to last long, but it sure happens a lot.

im sorry I dont know anything about marriage lol

my parents are married but it looks quite boring to me as an observer...they dont really DO anything together apart from share bedroom and meals. and dad doesnt even like mums cooking that much, he would rather eat junk food. If I wasnt there I just wonder what they would do with themselves all day.

if i were married (which i am not ) i'd probably just support my husband with whatever career he wants to pursue...

i'd let him lead our family (but still make sure he will let me have a voice in decisions)...

i guess because through the years i've been the one taking care of my family (i grew up in) and it would be nice to have someone making the decisions and taking the lead...

but i would love to still keep my career because it gives me my sense of identity... though i would consider work as work... not a goal to climb at the top of the career ladder...

this time i would make sure to prioritise our family and spend more time with my husband and kids more than the office...

basically, i just want a simple happy life

The quickest path to disappointment is expectations. When we set up the ideal we create expectations. Instead of compromise and growing together to build something new, the ideal can lead to inflexibility. For example, if your ideal is to get little love notes and flowers as a proof of love you may not notice that he changed the oil in your car, folded your laundry the way you like or gave you the drumstick when he likes them too, and understand these things as expressions of love. An ideal cannot be one size fits all. I think that one of the few things that work is when you are dedicated to their happiness, growth, protection and sense of well being and they are doing the same. It can't be something idealized. All you will see is where things didn't measure up to an arbitrary goal. The more you take expectations out of the equation and see what things actually are, you can find reasons for joy.
That’s exactly what I was thinking but you stated it better.

When I had the luxury of being a wife, we used to talk about martial arts, operative training and candles in the wind...and then everything else...now I wanna cry😢.
Are (were) you involved in martial arts? What styles interest you? The reason I ask is that since I was young I found them compelling. I’m at a point now in life where I will have both the time and money to invest in a hobby. To keep my mind and body active I’m thinking of learning guitar and Jiu-Jitsu. Thoughts...Besides this thread went a whole month without anyone hyjacking it so, it’s time.

hmm If I was married would my life as I know it be over. Probably.

my grandma taught me a few tai chi moves but when I asked mum why she never did them shes says she never learned. I have not heard my mum and dad have an actual conversation about anything for the entire month I have been in lockdown with them. is this normal? I think it must be, they are still together lol
