I didn't wright the book just follow it.

Reminds me of the guy who stopped his car on a street at the corner, and stood still all day.
Cars honked and drove around him looking to see if he was awake.

Finally, after so many complaints from people hearing the honking horns all day long, a policeman
pulls up an knocks on his window.

The man rolls down his window.
The policeman asks him what the problem is why has he been sitting at the corner all day long?

The man points to a sign.
The sign reads: "STOP"
Then the man told the policeman that he was just following what the sign says.

Would you be judging that man if you thought he was stupid?

.........

Acts 16:33

King James Version

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
What about the other prisoners? All doors were opened. All chains were released.......But none escaped.

These prisons held folks who were NEVER going to get out. And many were executed.

No salvation for the prisoners that believed Paul. They could never get to the water to be dunked.

Clue about what?

I agree roborn is being saved.

Then you should know we are saved by grace through faith in Christ just as you have been shown so many times already. Stop adding to Christ's work.

Acts 16:31
They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

Acts 16:33

King James Version

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Strewth. You have been shown so many times, the early Church was still doing things the old way for awhile. Christ's baptism is with the Spirit, not water. Matt.3:11 Acts 1:5 Eventually they would learn and Paul would say there is one baptism. Eph.4:5 Peter would learn and recognise our baptism in Christ is what saves us by His resurrection. 1Pet.3:21 Water has no power to do this, it has always been and will always be purely symbolic. It is by means of God the Spirit who baptizes us into Christ's death and resurrection. 1Cor.12:13 not water.

We are past the days of shadows and symbolism. In Christ we have the reality. We finally have real power to overcome our sin. We have more than the Law that could show us what is right but powerless to help us do what is right. Rom.8:3

How can we lose salvation if we don't even know how to obtain it?!!?!

The loss of salvation crowd has forgotten/walked away/forfeited the very TRUTH of the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment. Indeed, he has crossed over from death to life.

1 John 3:20-21
Even if our hearts condemn us, God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things. / Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God,

The loss of salvation crowd has no confidence in God.

Acts 16:33

King James Version

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

They were "immediately" baptized
It does not say how.
Spirit? Water?
Water would take a little bit of time.

The NKJV says, "immediately."

It does not say, Paul had them baptized.
Which would mean Paul used water.

A simple no would’ve been fine.

Why would I think they would be? Because I don’t read John 3:5 as “unless one takes a bath in water” let’s look at it this way and you tell me if it makes sense.
“Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV

Now let’s rephrase the verse so it says the exact same thing.

Truly, truly, I say to you, unless water and the Spirit give birth to one, that person cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Does it make sense if you look at it that way? NO. It says the same thing but looks weird because physical water is dead. There is no life in it. It cannot give birth to anything. Now could living water give birth? Yes.

Inanimate objects do nothing. We can do stuff with them but they do nothing on their own besides take up space. They definitely don’t give birth. Life comes from life.

When a woman is about to give birth......?

She breaks water.

.......

You are the only one I've noticed with teeth bared.
You should pay attention better.

And you know, sheep have teeth as well

Imagine walking down a street minding your own business.
A 40 year old man wearing only a big baby diaper and shaking a rattle walks by you.

He looks back at you looking at him.

He then warns you not to judge him.

What can you do?

Rightfully conclude the guy is a nutjob which would be a righteous judgement which is what Jesus said to do!

John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Not really....
Just testing the spirits.

Is that like a pop quiz or did you give them time to study?

Acts 16:33
King James Version

33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Yep, they got water baptized.

The Apostle were obeying what Jesus said about it.

Nowadays it's apparently fashionable to not only ignore Jesus' instructions but to also claim He is ignorant and doesn't know what He was talking about

What about the other prisoners?

All the others didn't accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Yes a woman’s water breaks before giving birth normally. The weaknesses I see with that view are the following:
“Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Lack of evidence of Jews of that period using “water” as an idiom for natural birth.

Jesus is answering the question of “how can a man be born again?” Why would Jesus answer with “you must be born” or basically “you must exist”? I don’t think He was just stating the obvious.

Also it says “born of water and spirit”. That’s one birth. It doesn’t say born of water and born of spirit. You must be born of water and spirit in one birth.

If we look at John 3:10, Jesus acts as if Nicodemus should know what He’s talking about which would mean it should be in Hebrew Scriptures. Does it link to Ezekiel 36:25–27?

Also a woman’s water doesn’t always break during birth. With stillborn babies for instance sometimes the membranes are passed without rupture. Sometimes there is no visible fluid during birth depending on amount inside the womb.

There are also many mentions of water in John and I see none of them that relates to natural birth. They mostly all relate to the Spirit.

All the others didn't accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
The word is on my side. There would have been MASS escapes, the Jailer would have been executed.

The logical conclusion is the majority of the prisoners heard and believed Paul.........But water baptism condemns them, they could not reach a river/tank/"preacher" to dunk them.

The word is on my side.

OK, show us in the Word where it says ALL the prisoners got born again.

If you cannot show that, then they did not all get born again and all you got is speculation

Many hear the gospel and choose to not believe

There were a lot of folks who heard Jesus teach and still rejected Him so people rejecting God happens all the time.

The burden of proof is on you. You say NONE of the prisoners believed Paul.......Then there would have been a mass exodus of that prison. All doors were opened and all chains were removed.

I'm seeing just fine. You have just been wearing sheep's clothing so long you forgot what you are.

Lack of evidence of Jews of that period using “water” as an idiom for natural birth.

It was common knowledge.

Look at the two verses used...

Jesus answered,
“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
Flesh gives birth to flesh,
but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

That is why Jesus used the term to speak of physical birth!

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and
that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:6

How does anyone sneak in water baptism with that context?????

.

Again you have no scripture to show your assumptions are true
If you did you would have posted it by now.

You failed to service the burden of proof you created by claiming something is true without having scripture to back it up. Failure is getting to be a thing with you over there

What are you going to claim is true next with no scriptural support? The earth is flat??? laughing4.gif

I'm seeing just fine.

Yeah, just like Stevie Wonder laughing.gif
