Yes, you got it! I would also have accepted Devil Ray and a couple of other alarming names for members of that family. The "no bones" clue refers to their cartilage skeletons. I think they look so much like kites.stingray ?

Admittedly that line fits the devil ray better than the sting ray (devil rays are plankton-eating and non-venomous), but sting rays are almost never aggressive. They're popular animals to dive with.

I've pet them a few times, but those might have had their stingers removed, I don't know. I also saw some dead in a fish market (blue spot stingrays) and it was absolutely fascinating to be able to examine them up close like that. Their colors and patterns were so neat!
