The ICE shooting is a textbook example of how important it is to deprogram personnel before returning them to active duty. I’m aware that we have to let the investigation proceed before reaching conclusions, but the knowledge that the ICE agent probably was suffering from PTSD shows that government agencies have a long way to go when it comes to taking care of their employees.

I have analyzed the videos from the incident the best way I know how, and as of now, the most likely scenario is that the driver of the car did not pose a threat to the agent. On the other side, a person suffering from PTSD, is experiencing a situation differently from what is considered normal.

What I’m saying is that this is not really on the victim nor the shooter, but on a failed system that doesn’t care about the psychological damage caused by the service, regardless of branch.
I agree that he was probably suffering from PTSD and that he should have been given time with a counselor before returning to active duty, but if's and but's are just fairy dust.

However, I listened to a lawyer go through the law on this and seems very straight forward that the car was an imminent threat that justified the use of lethal action. After pulling out the gun she did turn away from him, but prior to that she gunned it with him standing in front of the car and there is no way for anyone at that moment to know if she would run him over or not.

Maria Corina Machado won in a landslide in 2024, that's who the people want as their new president; but the Donald is already downplaying her and saying she "doesn't have any support." She won the Nobel Peace Prize last year so he may be jealous. Personally, I think he doesn't want anyone he can't manipulate or who may be more popular than him. He's already showing he doesn't care about what the Venezuelan people want.
Pres Trump knows Machado is a CIA honeypot who goes around seducing men to do what she wants. She knows she can't give away her peace prize. But that is her way to get in good with Trump so she can take control of Venezuela for the global elites who are the ones that wants to take control of the country to strip it from its natural resources but will not do anything that will help their economy to grow

Again the word's deprogram, deprogramming, program are not the choice of words I would use. By definition it would suggest that the officer was/had been brainwashed and deprogramming was needed to reverse the effects of the brainwashing and would establish that on an neurological level the officers thought process had been weaponized. This may or may not be the case that to some level the officer may have been influenced by events, programming ect. but I only have the information from the news and cannot prove or disprove it. Anyway train, retrain council, evaluate ect. may be the better words. https://www.britannica.com/science/deprogramming
There would be many other facts I would ask for in regards to the incident from both sides to make a decision about it. Briefly I would want to understand more about the other officers mindset to evaluate if or if not it was a shared thought process to react the way the one officer did or if they all were taught to react in the same manner. On the other side of the issue I would need to know other information also. I would try to understand if the event was random in that they just happened to be on that road that day or had they followed the officers from their headquarters to there and them blocking their path was planned beforehand. Where were their cell phones pinging towers(both the officers and the two women's),emails ect.. There's too many other things I would want to know to give an answer. Behavioral studies and police investigator's would be looking for different sets of facts to give an answer to two different questions. A law enforcement investigator would seek evidence of guilt or innocence while in Behavioral studies they would look for patterns of thought from both to evaluate the thought process involved.

Lol you must be pretty easy to seduce I imagine since she's pretty old and looking like it too lately.

Beyond the lookism though the international community aka the europeans want her to be the next president of Venezuela, while America would accept this of course, personally I think a newer face be better. Maria Machado is a legitimate worthy nobel laureate and has long fought against and evaded the wicked Maduro regime for years. She's better suited as an ideological hero and leader for the New Venezuela. In this way she is more the legacy builder, protected by God from the hand of the wicked regime keeping the Secret Fire alive, the matriarch of the movement rather than the new duchess of the State. Delcy Rodriguez had her chance but she wants to be Satan's cheerleader and beg for the return of her corrupt old boss, and pathetically mewl and buck against Trump, most unwise for her she is already too tainted to be ever trusted with real power. They should hold elections let the cream rise to the top, ideally a new and younger leader that is affiliated or endorsed by Maria Machado. To rebuild Venezuela's democracy after nearly three decades of dictatorship, and a super incompetent dictator at that is a long term process and a serious commitment. The trap is simple, you need a strong leader to transition and rebuild the society and the democracy, but you risk the strong leader becoming the new dictator. This is where US oversight as well as the new Golden Path thinking must overthrow the ideology of the atheistic/socialistic old world order and we must cultivate new leaders out of the new generations they must have the power and the wisdom and sense of vision to see themselves rather than as iron fisted autocrats like the fallen boomers rather have the sense of pupose to see themselves more like metaphysical architects, the foundation layers of a new era and a new golden path and golden age. Praise Jesus.

Governor Gavin Newscum is under criminal review for signing up illegal aliens to vote through his universal mail-in ballot criminally conspiracy.

I'll be very surprised if Trump's admin has the guts to actually charge him or the legal expertise to get a conviction of they do

Ok I just saw that Trump said we would take Greenland the easy way or the hard way or else it will end up in China or Russia's hands. Oh well so much for diplomacy. I'm out...

Yeah, if you can't run with the big dogs you'd better stay up on the porch with the pups and the kitty cats

I already said in my post that I don't have time to read comments.

Oh you have time. You just don't want to read the comments

On most military forums

The forum where wanna be military guys who never were in the military talk trash?

Pres Trump knows Machado is a CIA honeypot who goes around seducing men to do what she wants.

You sound jealous because you haven't been able to have carnal relations with this woman.

That's what the baby killin liberals keep saying in their fear mongering

Dude, you should check out the invention of the PARAGRAPH

It's a very handy thing to use!

Do you think if the US took over greenland, it really would end NATO? NATO is claiming if the US took over greenland NATO would fall.

The bigger question is does the POTUS need Congressional Approval to invade and overthrow the non aggressive nation of Greenland and if done without Congressional Approval is it an impeachable act.

ArtI.S8.C11.1.2 Breadth of Congressional War Powers
ArtI.S8.C11.1.1 Overview of Congressional War Powers

Article I, Section 8, Clause 11:

[The Congress shall have Power . . . ] To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water; . . .
When the Constitution’s Framers gathered in Philadelphia to draft the Constitution, one of their principal objectives was to improve the United States’ ability to ensure its peace and security through military protection.1 In line with that aim, the Preamble makes securing the common defense one of the Constitution’s principle purposes,2 and the articles that follow allocate broad control over national security to the federal government while denying most war powers to the states.3
Although courts and commentators occasionally discuss the war power as if it were a unified authority,4 the Supreme Court has explained that the Constitution spells out the war powers not in a single, simple phrase, but in many broad, interrelated provisions.5 In Article I, the Constitution empowers Congress to provide for the common defense through a set of enumerated authorities concerning war and national security.6 Central among these powers is Clause 11 of Article I, Section 8, which authorizes Congress to declare war. Clause 11 also empowers Congress to issue letters of marque and reprisal, which are instruments that permit private citizens to capture or destroy enemy property, and permits Congress to authorize rules concerning captures of enemy property on land or at sea.7
Apart from Clause 11, other clauses in Article I, Section 8, grant Congress the power to define and punish offenses against the law of nations; raise and support armies; establish and maintain a navy; make rules for the armed forces; provide for calling forth the Militia; and provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing the militia when in the service of the United States.8 General congressional authorities, such as the power over appropriations9 and the Necessary and Proper Clause, supplement Congress’s enumerated war powers. Finally, the Supreme Court has sometimes stated that the United States possesses inherent war powers that derive from its role as a10 sovereign country rather than from an affirmative grant in the Constitution.11 Other times, however, the Court has expressed the view that the federal governments’ war powers, while expansive, are only those which are to be derived from the Constitution . . . .12

The question is whether NATO is still a working force. The new leadership of NATO doesn’t seem to be up to its task. Trump shows clear signs of vilification and deterioration, so the congress will have to step up at some point. There is also signs of opposition inside the GOP about Trump’s stance on Greenland.

Susanna what are some of the cons that you see if United States takes Greenland?

Susanna what are some of the cons that you see if United States takes Greenland?

The cons are pretty clear in strategic terms. Trump has made Europe stronger from the get go in 2017. If you pay attention to the rhetoric from Europe it has changed dramatically over the last few months. It’s no longer kissing his ***(*).

Europe is getting stronger and it’s mostly on Trump. The ramifications of a strong Europe is that they will not be quiet bystanders if Trump goes through with his arctic fairytale. Even Putin fears an American invasion of Greenland, not so much because it increases the American landmasses in the arctic, but because he knows this is a schism between America and Europe.

The Russians are satisfied with a weak Europe under American dominance. They know full well what will happen when Europe is getting stronger.

But the biggest con is really the simplest one. Why take something you already have? The US can establish military bases all over Greenland already. The treaty between the US and Denmark from the Truman era is clear on that.

So the real question is: Why risk so much to achieve so little?

Thank you for this. I agree with the last part.

Follow up question. What do you mean by a stronger Europe?
Like a military stronger Europe you mean?

That is correct. A military stronger Europe, but also a Europe where the countries start fighting each other, forming unpredictable alliances, making inflation skyrocket and in general making life miserable all over the world.

Ok hold on a second now Susana because a lot of things are coming in question here.
Mainly what you THINK you understood during your deployments in Europe.
Let’s sit down for a minute for this because it’s gonna be a long talk.

In what world do you think the Europeans are ready to fight?
Europeans are giving their homes to Muslims and the squatter has more rights than the owner.
They can’t fight anymore. That’s why they take 6 weeks vacation starting at the end of June until September because good ol’ America provides the security.

Secondly, what you saw in Kosovo was basically an outward expression of how each nation feels due to their old fighting history.
But most don’t want to fight because they want to be on a 6 weeks vacation.
They just express it during regular street convo which you don’t see on tv.
It’s basically a small remark that brings back old flames of war, or a look which brings back the old flames of war.
But at the end of the day they just wanna be at the beach.
Like a Greek guy who took my AC during the summer for a week and he wasn’t fixing it. When I found him at the beach and told him to give it to me so I can find someone else , he said “I need the work man”.

This is what you’re dealing with in terms of mindset. Because the problem is not the weapons is the mindset.

And suppose for a moment that they wake up in year 2136. Then what?
They gonna invade Russia and trigger WW6?

Who in their right mind is going to do that in the nuclear age? That’s why superpowers have been fighting proxy wars so they can showcase their latest tech. And USA beats everyone on the tech angle.

So what say you Susanna? :coffee:

Here's the full video from a few days ago when Trump met with top oil executives and notably key Cabinet members Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum feature prominent roles here too. If Hegseth and Rubio and Vance are like the jocks of the crew then these are the quieter nerdy type GOPers but are also nevertheless brilliant geniuses in their own right. Already in the first year along with the Treasury Secretary and Commerce Secretary this powerful clique of quiet older conservatives have already performed marvellously in revamping the American economy and reorienting the world order's system of economy and trade.

This video will then either be incredibly boring or incredibly intriguing depending on your taste. I will say one unique thing in tandem with Trump's leadership style is the openness and transparency really. It is a brethtaking look into the both high personalities of the oil induustry and government, but also the process by which they talk to eachother too. Rather than the typical quasi-communism of the leftwing or the isolationist tendencies of the rightwing, we see a more nuanced picture here of high thinking ideals and ambitions tempered against vast challenges and risks in the gritty realism of rebuilding a neglected and decaying world into a new golden path to a real future. Though the central topic is rebuilding Venezuela's oil industry and more widely their society, Trump also of course characteristically strays into some other key news topics of day too such as the project to rennovate the White House. As such though it might not be so sensational as some of the other news of late this is a big meeting with vast key implications politically speaking. I personally really enjoyed it and despite its length I highly recommend it, praise Jesus.

To follow up with this with a bit more recent news, though somewhat related here. Our favorite meathead and our favorite nerd whom were both conspicuously absent from the big oil meeting emerge teamed up in good old Texas to discuss the future of military technology in our Frank Herbert's Dune inspired techno-religious golden age Christian Republic Imperium. Looks like we're going to find out.

Congress is inept and doesn't know their back side from deep center field
