Admittedly, just reading the Scripture verse you quoted makes it sound as if baptism is required for the remission of sin. BUT, when studying The Word one needs to take the preponderance of Scripture into consideration. And clearly the majority of Scripture teaches that we are saved by grace through faith and not of ANY works that we could boast of. So obviously that would include our going down into a pool of water with words said over us. We should be baptized once we are saved, as the Lord commands us to do it as an outward sign of an inward change. But the Holy Spirit moves in to us the minute we are saved, and we are forgiven. Just as the repentant thief on the cross was saved by his faith. Not being submerged in water.
Hi @Barber

Agreed with your post.

You have just been accused of being baptised for show by @Ouch
That being the case do you think that Jesus would agree with that?
It seems like your accuser does.

Would you agree with that?

@Ouch you have been baptized in Jesus name only.
You tell people that is the only way to have your sins remmised.
Do you tell people that you have done that?
If so then you do that for show as you accused @Barber

I know what your response will be.
So no need to respond.

Anyway the oneness pentacostals like @Ouch reject what Jesus told us to do in Mathhew 28, they deny the Trinity.

Sad thing is that @Ouch and his cohorts believe you are not saved, and the majority do not have the balls to say you are not saved and the Trinity is not true/real even when you ask them.
I and others here ask the same questions but you never get the yes/no response.

The reason is because they know they would be banned on here because of the heresy they preach.

Be careful of the wolves in sheep clothing

By the way they also tell you that if you don't speak in tongues your not saved.
Asked that question many timew and others have as well as the baptism mode.

If Matthew 28:19 is the correct formula, why didn't Peter follow it in Acts 2:38?

Ask Jesus.

I will go with what he said.

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Then ask Peter what he said in Acts 2:38 and went against Mat 28:19

Who was Peter addressing at Pentecost?
Jews or Gentiles?
Who was sent to the Gentiles to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus?

Thanks for responding, appreciate it.

So did Paul baptise in the formula of Acts 2:38 and no other methods?
Or did he talk about baptism without it?

Further more did he believe in the TRINTY, FATHER SON AND HOLY SPIRIT.

ONESS Pentecostal do NOT believe in the trinity.

Looks like you have every covered, eyes and can not see.

Have YOU received the Holy Ghost since you have believed.

FYI, JESUS SAID WE HAVE TO BE BORN OF WATER AND OF SPIRIT NOT ME!!

Being born of water is being baptized in JESUS name!!

Did you see any other way?

Just one example of being born of the spirit, Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Speaking in tongues is just something that happens!!

Just think how bad it's going to be for those who have been told unless your born again you are not saved.

Do you want me to lie to people? Do you know where liars go??? How about the ones who spread those lies?

I believe in the trinity,

JESUS is GOD,
JESUS is the Holy Ghost,
JESUS is the Son.

Nope I don't want you to lie and neither do I.
We will be judged by wat we preach as per Corinthians.
But please never judge others who disagree with you are not saved.
My past I have been told I'm not saved because I did not speak in tongues, yet I had other gifts they did not have.
Amen to the Trinity brother.

Do you really think EVERYONE is Saved?

You speak like everyone is, like there are no rules or conditions to follow.

Seek and you shall find HIS word is not hard to read and understand.

Satan's plan keep them out of the water, if they get in the water keep JESUS name out of it.

Satan knows what happens in the water, sad humans don't when it's very clear in HIS WORD.

We will all be heal accountable for our actions and our words here in earth.

I appreciate the waring, but we can make judgment calls, just like Paul did in Acts 19.

He asked questions, got answers and fixed the problem.

That is why I ask questions, call me what you like i"m not hear to make friends I'm here to share HIS word.

We need ALL of HIS word and put it together piece by piece and all of the peies have to fit to the next one.

You claim to have the Holy Ghost who am I to question that???

1 Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

I can't but if you do, then JESUS through the Holy Ghost will help you see that JESUS IS LORD.

Which is deceiving, do you know what you did?

Those following false doctrine always claim others who are correcting them are trying to deceived them.

I'm waiting for you to explain yourself.

Read to content of what I put in to my posts and take careful note of what the scripture references say.

The person who posted that is a deceiver.

Did someone hack your computer and post things using your user name that you were unaware of?

You have plenty of time to make this right.

YOU ARE A LIAR AND A DECEIVER.

That devil always says this about those of us who post the Truth of God's Word.

The deceived ones are the ones who argue against God's Word.

That doesn't end well there bud, so you should repent of following error and get back on God's Word!

Looks like it above

Yeah, home boy got caught espousing untrue stuff and is trying to do damage control by attacking those who are calling out his error.

He's got a bright future as a liberal politician though!

By your own admissions.

If we don't have to get baptized in JESUS name to get rid of our sins and we don't have to get the Holy Ghost then what do we have to do to be saved.

Scripture please.

Replacement theology has done its masterful job of getting so many to ignore that middle wall of partition that once existed at the point of Acts 2, all the way up to Acts 9. Many Evangelical Protestants today hate to think that such a wall ever existed because that clearly shows to us that there were two groupings; one on each side of that partition.

They love the false belief that Gentiles always had access to salvation apart from decoming a Jew in times past. That explains very well the modern love for the anti-Semitic sentiments many of them harbor in their mean little hearts without recognizing all the evil doctrinal elements that hide so well among their false beliefs.

So, when one attempts to deal with culric systems and those within them, it's generally a lost cause. They can't help but to boast and present their resume they think assures their salvation. They give little to no thought to scripture where it says:

1 Thessalonians 3:13 — To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

They lack being stablished in the faith and the Gospel that is active for us today. Having the word "gospel" in the name of their churchianity facility seems to give them a manic sense of security while boasting in their flesh about their salvational resumes that allegedly will impress the Lord when they come before Him.

Many of them justify their Satanic hatred of others on the basis of their own false sense of security in the doctrinal warps and twists within which they find such comforts. I've personally spoken with some of their devils behind pulpits who build within the hearts of their congregants the exclusivity of groupnthink that brings their pathetic followers to the point of prideful frenzy about their beliefs, never minding, of course, they can't justify much of any of what they claim to believe; especially on a systematic basis.

Turning the four gospels into their cultic go-to seems to never pique their conscience, so they vomit error without any sense of shame, thinking they are aligned with ancient Israel; failing to recognize that we of Israel are fallen as a nation and a priesthood. Salvation is come unto Gentiles apart from Israel, and the resulting pride in that is an astounding thing to observe.

You talk and don't like to debate so you either put others on ignore or just don't want to.

So it's just your points, no issue you have been told how to be reborn you just will not accept all HIS word.

Satan's plan keep them out of the water, it's working.

The words "in the name of Jesus Christ" (Acts 2:38) are not meant as a rigid, salvic baptism formula, but a reference to authority. To baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, is to baptize in the name of Jesus/by His authority. (Matthew 28:18-19) Oneness Pentecostals reject the Trinitarian formula because they reject the Trinity.

Must baptism be “in Jesus’ name”? - CARM
