They were still righteous. Like the righteous Lot who let himself get distracted by worldly things. I suspect Solomon will be counted among the righteous, even though his taking many foreign wives led to Israel's idolatry and destruction. A similar thing seems to have happened with the sons of God before the flood

Yes, righteous as designated by God according to the standard of their day. These are those who awaited in Abraham's Bosom for the appearing of Christ.

It's called Abraham's Bosom because he was the one who believed God. It was credited to him as ...wait for it... righteousness. :)

They were as righteous as he was. Probably more so. He received the revelation of Christ from them via Shem

They fell from righteousness, and were then considered the Nephilim, 'fallen ones.' You know, like the old saying goes, "Oh how the mighty have fallen..."

Just for accuracy, Methuselah lived 5 years longer than Lamech's 777 total years lived (Gen 5:25-27).

Oh so you're saying that Genesis 6 is figurative. Sorry but I can't let you do that to me. Every time that I have been wrong and changed my mind like when I used to be post trib but the truth I found out is that pre trib. The stuff in scripture it seems I was not taking it literally enough and once I did then it made sense!

You are free to do as you will. I wasn't trying to do anything to do. Language is inherently abstract. For example, telling you, 'Thumbs up,' isn't a call for you to put your thumbs up.

Why did it not simply say?

"The sons of Seth took the daughters of men."

Makes no sense to not do it that way
The wording makes no sense, since Seth's line consisted of the children of men.

And, why suddenly the giants appeared?
Wouldn't Seth's line already have been giants if that were the case?
Since when does "breeding" of believers with an unbeliever produce a physically superior offspring?

Sloppy thinking!

.......
This may entertain you 🙂

And I showed you that the word means habitation, not body. Heaven is the rightful habitation of angels.
Also, a heavenly body is an angel's rightful habitation, so dwelling in a human body by demonic possession, would be leaving their first estate/habitation for another one to which they were not entitled.

Methuselah was the longest lived man ever.

But Methuselah died before his Dad did!

Are you really smarter than a 5th grader?

One Digital Donut to whoever knows the answer to that one !!

According to this angels do not have bodies. Think the Matrix when considering that they can appear as men

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. Hebrews 1:7
Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. Luke 24:39
So that part is real and not made up by Hebrews?

The BIG Question not asked out loud concerning Genesis 6:1-6?

Why were those angels able to reproduce sexually?

,,,,,,

We know there is no clear answer here as in biblical text (Scripture). Its almost funny how we debate about things like "free will" yet we have Angels that have free will. So much in fact they could leave their first astate become like man and have giants part angel part man children. "And angels who did not keep their own designated place of power, but abandoned their proper dwelling place, [these] He has kept in eternal chains under [the thick gloom of utter] darkness for the judgment of the great day, "

As one here said.. ask God about this.. you won't get an answer. There is no salvation for fallen angels. There was no temptation no lies going around in their head.. they knew what they were doing. Man does not.. So this here He GOD has not cared to enlighten me about such things.. nor will He till this life is over. So this is just speciation

Keep your doughnut; your question is not difficult for those who know Scripture. Perhaps don't treat others like they're ignorant. ;)

No. Your “5th grader” comment is. This isn’t a matter of easy, hard, or “smart”; it’s basic trivia and you either know it or you don’t.

Come on man that's a reference to a tv show lol. No-one is insulting anyone here.

But you gotta admit, Man kind are dumb as a rock generally speaking. You make a good point in that these are the last days and so people are paying attention

Notice how that post side railed the real topic?????
That is how it works. DISTRACTION.

Now?

The BIG Question, not asked out loud, concerning Genesis 6:1-2?

Why were those angels able to sexually reproduce?

If we answer this question, we will be able to begin explaining why we see so many transsexuals posting online today, seeking acceptance as a new norm.

So? Why were angels stuck without a female counterpart, yet God initially created them originally to be able to sexually reproduce?

Yes... This reality is revealed in Genesis 6, when angels left their positions of authority so they could take sexually beautiful women being born of men.

Now it happened, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,
that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and desirable; and they took/'seized passionately' to them women, whomever they chose and desired. " Genesis 6:1-2

Not everybody is ready to handle this.
Understood.

But, for those who can?
It is important to get a grip on in our present day.

The truth will make us free from the destabilizing craziness and evil that we need to learn to defend ourselves against with
a shield to keep our peace of mind....

One step at a time, please.
