It would need to be just an open type sight for the Charger, I would think... not many people shoot a handgun right up by their face as would be necessary for aperture sight use. I guess it could be done, but a regular open type sight should work...
Red/green dot sights might be better.... I had one on a P10C 9mm and liked it, but I wasn't very fast at acquisition in a "hurry up and shoot" scenario, as would happen in a self defense situation. I know learning to be fast with one is do-able, but I never worked with it enough to master it.
On a more "deliberate" kind of thing, such as target or hunting, I think they would be perhaps better than open sights..
Yes, I have seen one.Have you ever seen a Charger 22 pistol?
Yes, I have seen one.
Have you ever seen a peep (aperture) sight on a pistol ? I'm not talking about some kind of ghost-ring sight, but a true aperture sight?
That's why I said that a regular open sight would work well, but an aperture likely would not.
I suppose if you want to turn a pistol into some sort of quasi legal short rifle, an aperture would work. I was talking about the Charger used as it was intended, as a pistol, held at arms length to shoot.
That looks like it would be a nice truck gun.... short and handy.
They seem to drift in and out of approval with the BATFE. Currently, I think they are ok, but they seem to change with the seasons. There's nothing quasi illegal about it.
Agreed.... when Ruger came out with them, I just shook my head.I never did shoot it as a pistol. It's too big and weird for that.
A quick goober search found this.... I'm sure there are a bunch of other options for a clamp-on type of sight.... The sight base is $40, and the inserts are about $20 each... different heights and colors, fiber optic. It has removable apertures so all I have to do to get a ghost ring is take the aperture out! That is, if I can find a way to get a front sight on it.
I never have seen a peep sight on a pistol pretty sure. But I have peep sights on my full size 10/22 and they work great. Peeps on a short rifle should work too. I don't shoot that thing like a pistol, I shoulder it. It might not be as accurate as a full size one, but how accurate does it need to be? It seems like a 50 yard rifle with a stock on it.

I also find it a little difficult to believe that Ruger sort of intended for them to be made into SBR's.... Ruger has a history of almost ultra-conservative views on firearms.... which is ok, it keeps them out of court cases, I imagine. I think they just thought that folks would LIKE a clumsy, unbalanced "handgun" based on the 10/22.... which was strange, to me.

I didn't know they were considered "fragile".... but if the firing pin isn't broken, I'm not real sure what it could be.... when you dry fire it, does it make the loud click that indicates the sear has released?Have any of you experienced misfiring problems with your Winchester Defender 1300? I know it’s a pretty fragile shotgun, so maybe wear and tear? There’s no indentation to the shell’s primer so possibly the firearm?
Yes, I had a Skinner Express on a Henry 45-70 single shot rifle I had for a short while.... it was too light, which meant it kicked like the proverbial mule, even with my semi-mild loads.... I moved it along.

All of that seems to be fine, so it is sort of the firing pin doesn’t reach the shell’s primer. This doesn’t happen every time, but it happens. I can’t figure it out either so I guess I have to go see a gunsmith.
