OOOHHH man.

That could be dangerous.

In general, I don't like fish (a few are ok,) but batter them up and throw them in a deep fryer (as long as they're still not too "fishy",) and it's a whole different story.

I don't even know if I should consider the possibility of deep fried pickles (though I hear the South deep fries everything, and that's why their food is so delectable.)

There's probaby an entire gamut of foods I don't normally like -- but would soon discover they're a completely different experience, not to mention addictive -- when deep fried. :LOL:

you take the baked pizza, cover it with flour then deep fry it. yum, then you got yourself a side of German fried pizza!

ANY modern americanized version of pizza would be considered an abomination by the original pizza inventors. It used to be a large round of bread with a tiny amount of cheese and onion on the top. And it was delicious.

(I used to know a Grecian lady who ran a cafe near here, and she would make them.)

But anyway, yeah... If you would put pineapple on pizza with ham, would you also eat banana on your hamburger?

Just a plain banana burger taste better. Peanut butter on the bread makes a good hamburger or banana burger.

If you have a sweet tooth, apples or blueberries, brown sugar and cinnamon are excellent toppings for a pizza.

Perhaps Bob and Doug can help clear up that mystery...

Or maybe not... .:ROFL:

Do you remember that pig farm incident in Canada years back? Well, a few months after that went down, we visited Victoria, BC. I was shopping with my grandmother, and she asked the deli clerk if the ham had come from that farm. I was a little kid and didn't understand why everyone around me gasped. I think they had to pull the ham after that.

Yes, and coincidentally I mentioned that meat a while back here, though I am not sure why. Certainly
a horrific situation and also grateful on my part not to have been eating pig at that point in my life...

Yes, I still don't eat pork, bacon or ham maybe once of twice a year.

Pineapple on pizza is my favorite. I can even eat it with only pineapple and nothing else.
I'm not a big fan of ham, especially that dried out chewy mess they put on pizzas. I prefer bacon. Bacon and pineapple 😋😋😋

What's pepperoni anyway? Beef? Pepperoni, pineapple, and sweet pepper rings. I can't eat fresh pineapples or anything with pineapple juice as much as it tempts me. It'll leave me wondering why my lip itches for weeks, or so it seems even if it is really only a few days. So, charred pineapple it is, which is fine since the caramelization saves me the want for sweet and the pepperoni and cheese sufficient for the want for salt. The pepper rings speak for the spicy and adds the edge of sour that the pineapple loses in the cooking. And all of these ingredients work well with a marinara that leans toward the bitter side, just so none of my (taste) buds are left out. YumMaay.
And, if I rightly understand umami, I suppose some mushrooms could be added for a little of that (but I'm not sure that is necessary). :unsure:

I had to look up what you were talking about though I didn't want to look to close at the details once I got the general idea. You make me suddenly glad I was raised under the limitations of Old Covenant clean and unclean meat requirements since my family has visited Victoria a few times including in the 1990s.

Hey Everyone,

Well, we'll see how this goes. My genius (perhaps slightly dyslexic) brain originally typed out, "Why is Pizza on Pineapple SO Controversial?" :LOL:

Yeah, the thinking cap is a little backwards this morning.

We all know the infamous controversy about pineapple as a topping on pizza:

th

BUT, I've always wondered exactly WHY it's so reviled. Is it because:

* Pineapple is a fruit, and fruit should never be on pizza.

* Pineapple is sweet, and sweet shouldn't be mixed with a savory food.

But if this is true, what about things like sweet and sour? Why does one combination work and not the other?

* Is there something just inherently evil about pineapples? Is pineapple somehow a fruit of the devil?

* And (the reason I'm posting this in the Family sections.) if/when your family members disagree on toppings, how many different pizzas do you have to order so everyone is happy?

I have some family members who like a few "unconventional" pizza styles, such as yes, the infamous pineapple, along with BBQ chicken (my least favorite of the ones they've tried,) all-vegetable, and "white" pizza, usually involving spinach and sometimes artichokes. Sometimes when I go to visit, that might be all they've fixed or ordered, so I've learned to not be very picky-- or chances are, I won't get fed. :cry: (And don't we ALL show up when a free meal is involved?!) :ROFL:

Whether you think pineapple on pizza should be beloved or bemoaned, it's time to square off!! 🥊

Leave your thoughts, comments, and reasons as to why YOUR opinion is RIGHT (because that's what we do here on the forum :LOL:,) and tell us why the opposing side is COMPLETELY WRONG (obviously!) :cool:
The rule is:
If its in the fridge, It goes on the pizza.
Pineapple, Anchovies, Spinach, Meat, tomato sauce, Not Tomatos, etc...

I could start having fun with this rule!

* Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza
* BBQ Chicken Pizza
* Cheeseburger Pizza

I've also made * Garden Vegetable Pizza, where i finely diced/shredded various veggies (including carrots, they were finely shredded and added a sweet burst) and topped the pizza with. Was very surprised when my daughter claimed it as her favorite.
