I was just kidding -- sort of -- when I said we could show the BDF how it's done!!

Yet somehow, @Magenta has somehow just successfully -- and very, very cleverly -- combined Scripture, controversy (pudding vs. fruit fillings!), and a thread about Just Desserts in Singles all in one!!!:ROFL::ROFL:

Magenta, I don't know what your favorite fruit pie filling is, but I'm thinking, for this post, you definitely deserve all. the pies. :p

Please come and claim your prize(s)!! :D

No sharing required -- you have DEFINITELY earned this!

(I'm STILL laughing!)

I have today off, as last weekend was a long one for everyone else (not me, as I normally have Monday off), and so being busy with the end of the school year graduation photos, my boss wanted me to work three days in a row this week instead of having my normal Wednesday off. And now I want to go out just to get my favourite desert even though I bought the runner up chocolate chip chocolate muffins last night on my way home! I do love pie, and apple is hands down my fave... but buying a whole pie is bad for my already wasted waistline... because I will eat the whole thing LOL. So I have settled on this Danish concoction that Safeway makes with sweet cheese and cherry pie filling, and they have less calories than the double chocolate muffins! Although you only get four in a box compared to six muffins in a plastic container/box. I also purchased some of my favourite frozen yogurt yesterday... my Chapman's black cherry with chocolate slivers and mini chocolate cherry cups. I have not had it for months... so I think I can safely skip going out today, and just have a day off replete with homemade instant coffee haha yes instant coffee, which I have not had since some time in April. Starbucks has not seen me this week since last weekend now!!! Makes me wonder how @SteveEpperson is doing...

Quality Vanilla Bean Ice cream, Angel food cake, sugar cookies.
Do you have any brands that you would recommend as having quality vanilla bean ice cream?

I'm a big fan of Breyer's myself:

I believe Breyer's also has a "Creamy" vanilla and a "French" vanilla, but it has to be the "Natural Vanilla" (with the vanilla bean flecks) for me.

I totally understand about having to watch our "wasted waistlines." Great job on finding something to treat yourself with but with fewer calories.

I had to run an errand at the mall the other day, and unfortunately, my path took my right past the beckoning scent of Cinnabon cinnamon roll shop. I haven't had a Cinnabon in years, and boy, did I ever want to stop!!!

But one wouldn't have been enough, and the next thing you know, I would have stopped at the supermarket and bought an entire box of cinnamon rolls... And ain't nobody got the calorie allowance for that!!

So instead, I came home and melted butter, cinnamon, and Swerve sugar substitute on a couple pieces of bread.

It certainly wasn't a real cinnamon roll, but it seems to have calmed the Cinna-Monster I had going on that was just about to pounce!

I've wondered about Steve as well.

It's a good thing you tagged him because he has me on Ignore and assumedly won't see my post, but he should see yours.

Instant coffee!?! 🤔

Since its homemade, I guess that is ok.
*To avoid a riot, Seoulsearch quietly keeps it to herself that Rodney would consider homemade instant coffee a heresy.*

I feel an urge to weigh in here. Instant coffee must be a heresy. It’s like Jesus light which clearly is an abomination.

Cookies or milkshakes or chocolate of some kind are my top.
Cake next, though cake can sometimes mess up my stomach. Not sure why. Also ice cream, but I seem to be lactose intolerant.
Pie I enjoy, but it's rarely something I crave. Along with brownies.
I mostly prefer chocolate flavored things, but lemon cake or pie is also really good.
I haven't had fudge in forever, but it would be nice to get some.

No place special. No special recipes.

No special seasonal desserts.

Milkshake is a dessert, so I always have a drink with my meal and a shake after, when I get one. Moreso that I hate eating without a drink than really thinking that shakes are a dessert.

Pie beats everything except cheesecake. Pie is basically baked pudding in a shell.

I'm not real big on pie myself... Except for chocolate. And lemon. And chess pie. And pecan is good. Blueberry is also good. Blackberry... Peach... Sweet potato... Pumpkin... A few others are really good too... But aside from that I'm not much of a pie guy.

My favorite pie is actually...

Round.
Well... Cheesecake is basically just a cheese pie.

Eh... You really oughta specify there. It's waaaaay different from a cheddar pie.

Cheese pie is pizza. Cheesecake is...

Wait, I'd better not say that. Some people may consider it black heresy.

Okay I'm saying it. Cheesecake is MUCH better than any pizza I've ever tried!

Heretic! Cheesecake is just a pie filled with one of the worlds worst cheeses. Pizza is a delicious gooey treasure brought forth by some form of divine enlightenment.

I guess I might as well add my favorite desserts since I already bashed on cheesecake. My two favorite desserts are baklava and almond roca. I haven't had either in years though since I can't make them and store bought variants aren't very good.

Instant coffee is indeed a heresy. Instant decaf coffee is an abomination.

What, exactly, is chess pie?

I'd never heard of it before until I saw someone mention it here on the forum years ago.

When I tried Googling it, I got all kinds of answers ranging from, "It's kind of a custard," to "Are you kidding me??? Custard?! That's heresy!"

So, to get the slice directly from the people who enjoy it...

How would y'all describe/define a chess pie?

Lol, the Bible Discussion Forum isn't the only place that riles up everyone's emotions!!

Right now I see we're having some rather heated debates about pies, instant, and decaf coffee.

You know what lemon bars are like?

Like that, but more sweet, not at all tart, and the topping is about three times as thick, in a pie form.
