All of God’s commandments are required for salvation. God does not give a “commandment” with the attitude that it doesn’t matter whether or not you obey it. If you tell your children to do something and they don’t do it, do you just not care? It’s ok with you for your children to ignore what you say? Really??
By the way, cominnion was the reason the disciples assembled each first day of the week—to remember His death and resurrection. Acts 20:7. And we still believe it is necessary and observe it. All of God’s commands are important and necessary.
1 Cor. 7:19–what matters is keeping the commandments of God.
John 14:15–If you love me keep my commandments.
John 15:14–You are my FRIENDS if you do what I say.
1 John 5:3–This is the love of God that we keep His commandments.
1 John 2:3–We KNOW HIM if we KEEP his commandments.
1 John 2:4–If you claim to know God, but don’t keep His commandments, you are a liar and the truth is not in you.”
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/1/1jn.5.1.KJV

Once you believe you are already born again.

Notice the sequence given here:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/1/eph.2.10.KJV

First we are created in Christ Jesus, then good works follow.

I didn’t even reply to him and his buddy. It’s just plain garbage.

“Without faith it’s impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6. No one denies that faith is absolutely necessary to be saved. But we have to remember that James 2:24–not by “faith alone”- is necessary also; it’s almost as if God knew that Satan would use “faith” as a stumbling block to salvation by mentally inserting the word “only” in Every passage that suggests salvation by faith. For example, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.” Acts 16:31. In order for people to believe in salvation by faith alone, they must mentally insert the word “only” in there. So to them the passage really reads, “believe ONLY..and you will be saved. If the passage really said that, then they would be exactly right—salvation would be by faith alone. BUT, the passage does NOT say that. It says by “faith”, yes, but since GOd did not say “faith only” that means there may be other things essential to salvation in conjunction with faith. God does say other things also save us, so it CANNOT be by faith alone. He has listed several. In Acts 3:19 says we must REPENT if we want to have our sins blotted out. That, and other passages like Luke 13:3 and Acts 2:38 puts REPENTANCE necessary to salvation. IF ANYTHING else is necessary for salvation, then it is impossible for it to be by faith alone. Do you see how inconsistent that is?
Salvation cannot be by faith only if there are other things that are necessary. In order for anyone to say salvation is by faith alone, he will have to deny the necessity of REPENTANCE.
Not only repentance, but also CONFESSION is said to be necessary to salvation. Romans 10:9-10- “If you will CONFESS with your mouth the Lord Jesus…you will be saved.” Verse 10 says,”…with the mouth CONFESSION is made to salvation.” Notice God did not say we were saved by REPENTANCE “ALONE” and He did not say we were saved by CONFESSION “ALONE.”” So why would anyone say we are saved by FAITH “ALONE.”? It’s so inconsistent!
I Peter 3:21 says we are saved by baptism. That’s about as plain as any statement in the Bible. But no one believes you are saved by baptism “alone.”
So let’s “SUM” it all up (Psalms 119:160.
Acts 16:31-BELIEVE ON THE lord and you will
be saved.
Acts 3:19- REPENT…that your sins may be
blotted out.
Romans 10:9-10- “If you CONFESS with your mouth….you will be saved. “…with the mouth
CONFESSION is made to salvation.
I Peter 3:21- “…BAPTISM does now save us.”
As far as I can tell, the word “ONLY” or “ALONE” is not in ANY of these scriptures. And since they ALL say they save a person, wouldn’t that mean that they are ALL necessary to Salvation? That’s why God tells us that we are not saved by “Faith ONLY.” James 2:14.

You get saved just like the people in the book of Acts got saved. These are “God approved” examples of salvation. If God saved them a certain way—and you do what they did—wouldn’t God save you the same way? If the Bible is true and from God then yes, he will. You can turn to the Bible and point to a Bible example and say “THIS is how I got saved.” you just need to know how people in the Bible were saved.

You will need to forget everything you have heard men say about salvation. Things like, you are saved by faith only, just trust Jesus, just accept Jesus as your personal savior, say a sinner’s prayer. Those are doctrines of men and are not found in the word of God—well, except for “faith only. It’s in James 2:24 but it says NOT BY FAITH ONLY.

Start with what Jesus said in Mark 16:16- “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.” That seems simple enough but the devil has a great campaign going on teaching people that it doesn’t matter what Jesus said—you don’t need to be baptized. That’s his job, right? To deceive people, because he really wants you to go to hell. He doesn’t want you to be saved. So, you need to believe and trust what Jesus said OVER what man says.

When we go to the book of Acts we see people being saved JUST LIKE JESUS SAID IN MARK 16:16.

Acts 2:41-3000 believed ( received God’s word) and were baptized.

Acts 8:12-men and women in Samaria believed and were baptized.

Acts 8:13- Simon believed and was baptized.

Acts 16:15- Lydia believed and was baptized.

Acts 18:8- Crispus and the Corinthians believed and were baptized.

Acts 8- the Eunuch believed and was baptized.

Acts 9- Saul of Tarsus believed and was baptized.

Acts 10- Cornelius and his house believed and were COMMANDED to be baptized.

Acts 16:30-31-the jailer believed and was baptized.

That’s 9 examples from the Bible of people obeying Jesus’s command in Mark 16:16.
If you sincerely want to know how to be saved, God has TOLD you and SHOWED you. You better build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ—or else you are on “sinking sand.”

Getting saved is really about making a personal decision to invite Jesus into your life. I remember when I did it, it was a simple prayer like that. Finding a church or a community to share your journey with can be a big help too. It’s a personal thing, but it helps to have support along the way.

Jesus confirmed the truth of what you've stated:

"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me THROUGH THEIR WORD
; John 17:17-20

Some of these arguments are like playing “what if”. We’ve all done it. There’s usually some repressed anger behind it. If you see a person going on and on, pressing a certain point, then there’s some anger at God for something in their life.
“And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

yes, that’s a good one, too. They are ALL NECESSARY. Who, but Satan, would tell you not to worry about them?

Unfortunately, the Bible doesn’t teach that we are saved that way. That is a man-made doctrine. Look at how people in the book of Acts were saved and obey Jesus’s command in Mark 16:16.

OR…..they are trying to teach you the truth and save your soul.

The truth does not fear investigation…but ERROR does not like to be challenged.

Yes, they are required if you want to save yourself.

But you better be perfect. As james said, stumbling in just one point will condemn you forever.

No he gives a command as with any law. To prove our guilt and charge us when we are guilty. Without a law. There is no proof of Guilt.

That was the purpose of the law. To shut our mouths, because all have sinned.

But keeping them will not save you, they will not keep you saved, and you will nto lose salvation if you forget and screw up a command.

We are saved by Grace apart from works.

You want to ut yourself under law. Feel free. But again, you better be perfect. (I am sure you already failed to do this, so the law can only condemn you,, You better let it lead you to christ)

It is—but not by faith “alone.” I don’t see the word “alone” or “only” in that verse.
I do not see "alone" or "only" in the verses you give, either.

Like: it is ONLY through water baptism that your sins are remitted... type of thing.

Someone (@Wansvic perhaps?) asked why anyone who was not saved would get baptized.

I found it an odd question given how often it is said one must be water baptized in order to be saved.

Given ^ that ^ fact, that unsaved people get water baptized is no surprise. They think it will save them.

I don’t have to worry about that old Jewish law condemning me because I am not under that law. It has been replaced by the law of Jesus Christ. I don’t serve God under that law. Jesus took it out of the way and nailed it to His cross. Colossians 2:14. That old law died when Jesus died on the cross. Read Hebrews 9:16-17; Hebrew 8:6-13. Paul says if you try to be saved by that old Jewish law, you have FALLEN FROM GRACE. Perhaps you had better let it lead YOU to Christ.

I have never heard anyone argue that baptism “ONLY” or baptism ALONE” saves you. Have you? I have always put it with faith just like Jesus did in Mark 16:16- “ He that BELIEVES and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED.” And Jesus puts salvation AFTER baptism—not BEFORE baptism like man made doctrines do. I guess I will just put my trust in what God says in 1 Peter 3:21- BAPTISM DOES NOW SAVE ME.

We believe it is through the grace of the Lord Jesus that we are saved. From Acts 15:11
It is definitely by God’s grace that we are saved. God’s Grace gave us His Son to die for our sins so that we could have salvation.
—God’s Grace gave us the Bible and told us and showed us through it what we need to do and how to be saved. Yes, it is all because of the grace of God that we can have salvation. But don’t mistake that as meaning we can ignore what God has told us to do in His word. As usual. It’s NOT one or the other—it’s both. We don’t pit scripture against scripture. It’s ALL true and from God and important. Psalms 119:160- the entirety or SUM of your word is TRUTH—not just the part you like.

No. It was not me.
