With Cain and Abel the seed through which the coming savior would come was obviously Abel because it was he that followed God's instruction to sacrifice a lamb to show belief in God's provision and forecast of the coming savior and His sacrifice. Eve knew that the coming savior was through the seed of Abel. After Abel was killed and Cain was banished, she was happy that God provided another seed through which the coming savior would come and which would replace Abel's. Gen 4: 25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth. For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

If Seth was the next male offspring of Adam and Eve, then Cain could not have married his sister or relative. So appointing Seth by God to replace Abel must mean a spiritual appointment ( which is to believe and understand and as a reminder symbolize the coming Savior by the sacrifice of a lamb, which Abel did.). What did God tell Cain when his offering was rejected? Gen 4: 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. " doest well " refers to believing in God's plan of salvation through the coming savior and demonstrating that belief through the sacrificing of a spotless lamb. Cain did not do well, and his sin was murder.

Concerning the family of Christ, the Church is the bride of Christ because just as a bride and groom become one when married, we become one with Christ when we receive His Holy Spirit.
Eph 1: 10 That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even (that is) in Him;
Eph 1: 22-23 And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the Church, Which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.
When we receive the Holy Spirit of the Father and Son (both reside in our hearts), we become part of the spiritual body of Christ as well as adopted children of the Father. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. The Father is in Christ because Christ is filled with the Father's Spirit and therefore is a temple for the Father just as we are.
John 17: 21 That they all may be One, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in Thee, that they also, may be One in us; ..... And the glory (Father's Spirit) which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me that they may be made perfect in One; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me Eph 2: 19 .Now, therefore, ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Eph 4: 10- 16 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And He gave some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ, Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; That we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive; But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, who is the head, even (that is) Christ; From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in LOVE.
When Christ went back to heaven to get glorified by the Father, He was given an empty spiritual body and the Father's Holy Spirit to fill His body with. That is when Christ sent the Comforter (the Spirit of the Father and Christ) in order to fill His spiritual body with the Father's Spirit joined to ours. We as members of God's family want to assist in edifying Christ's body through sharing in the knowledge of the Truth in Love.
John 17: 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Matt 11: 25-27 No man knoweth the Father except the Son and to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.

Man is incapable of not sinning because the motivation for living is self. Not sinning requires spiritual intervention. The 10 Commandments given to Moses explains how man can become sinless. It describes how man should behave in his relationship to God and to his fellow man. Man fails because of his motivation. Christ sitting on the right hand of the Father means that everything that the Father wants is done by the Father through Christ. That is why the God active in the Old Testament is Christ ( who is filled with the Father's Spirit from whom communication, direction, and power is given). Jesus said that no one comes to the Father but through Him.
That includes those in the Old Testament who believed God when He communicated with them through His Spirit and dreams. What they believed was in the coming Savior.
When Jesus came on the scene, He explained that He came down from Heaven to call sinners to repentance. The first Christians were Jews who obeyed Jewish customs. After Jesus ascended back into Heaven, these Christian Jews noticed that Gentiles were receiving the Holy Spirit and they make the statement that to the Gentiles also repentance that leads to salvation is granted by God. Without this repentance there is no salvation. Concerning election, if God is the one that grants the degree of repentance necessary, here are things to consider: Does God choose or do people choose. Repentance is a state of being. Once God grants repentance, you are in that state of being. It is not a gift that one can refuse. He does not put someone on a choke hold and says " Say you're sorry". God changes the state of the person He chooses so that the person turns to Him for forgiveness. Obviously, the person feels like it is he that is making the decisions, but his decision is based on how he feels about his sin. Through preaching, salvation through Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins is presented to him. When he puts his trust on Christ's death for the forgiveness of sins, his sins are erased.
But he is still a sinner. God remedies this problem by filling the person with His Holy Spirit through belief in His Son. It is the Holy Spirit of the Father which was given to His Son when Jesus went back to Heaven to get glorified. Both the Father and Son abide in Spirit in the heart of the new convert so that the person becomes part of the Spiritual body of Christ, and as a member of Christ's body, become one with Him and the Father and also share in the same love that they share. When we are born again, our motivation for living changes from love of Self to love of God first and love for everyone else second. When all our thoughts and actions are motivated by this divine love we will be obeying the Spirit of the Law and will be perfected and presentable to the Father. God judges the heart of man.
Baptism in the name of the Father occurs when He grants the repentance necessary that leads to salvation. Baptism in the name of the Son occurs when the person puts his trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. Baptism in the name of the Holy Spirit occurs when the person receives the Holy Spirit of the Father through belief in Jesus Christ in order to be perfected. All three have a part in our salvation. It is they who do the baptizing, not man.

James 5;15- "and the prayer of faith shall save the sick......." it doesn't mean "some of the sick'", it means ALL of the sick (Christians). also, 1st Peter 2:24 says, 'by whose stripes "YE WERE HEALED". that's past tense!!! so why aren't all Christians healed? it SEEMS contradictory but Christians know it isn't.

When Jesus said that we can ask anything in His name and it will be granted us to the glory of the Father, he didn't mean asking for material things. That would not bring glory to the Father. By praying with faith for the salvation of people who we come in contact with
in Jesus name it will be granted us. The key words are " prayer of faith".

physical healing is not a material thing. look at John 14:13,14 1st John 5;14,15. Healing is in God's name. but God doesn't always choose to heal. i'm sure, all of us Christians can come up with something they don't like about (i'm not saying disagreeing), God's working with us. i'll give you 1: none of us "like" that kids are bon handicapped. back to healing, for me, that's the #1 issue i don't like. imagine a Christian asking God for physical healing 40 or 50 years & doesn't receive it!

Praying in Jesus name does not preclude material things. Proverbs 3:5-6 says...in all our ways acknowledge Him...I see no reason not to include material things. Which house should we buy? What neighborhood to live in? New car or used? All decisions involving material things and the will of God.

I agree. It's just that spiritual things, such as people's salvation and doing God's will, are so much more important.

we all have the common sense to know when you have reached the "material" stage supported with greed & that's when to stop except if you are a collector of an object. i'm a collector of silver coin. nothing wrong in that.

My point is that to the Christian walking in the Spirit all of life is lived in consideration of God.

We should pray, among other things, for wisdom, understanding, and strength to do the Father's will. Our bread, just like Jesus, should be to do the Father's will in our lives.

Nothing wrong with any of that.
