The greater exodus...Jacob's trouble...Jeremiah 30.
I feel so bad for what happened in 2 Kings 17. I almost feel like I was there...I believe my ancestor was. Never again!
“You shall have no other gods before Me." - Exodus 20:3

Ten tribes of Israel wandering homeless
Wandering endlessly throughout the earth
Forgotten by all, their name was worthless
Wandering endlessly throughout the earth

When is the time for them to return
Of their inheritance, they must learn
Israel and Judah are not the same
Until the Lord reunites them again -tc

Hi. Lots of people debating on here :) Anyways when I was called, Hod called me to intercede for people. So the gift of prayer. Though we are all supposed to be pray, this was a gift to be used at my church, and for anyone Hod wanted to use me with. I have other gifts. So basically God can give you any gift, at anytime to be used for His Glory. Also the gift of discerning of the spirit. But more then that. Like I said, He can use any gift at any time.

I saw it twice...I thought it was a typo...He has many names...for all I knew, it was a new one for me!
Anyway, intercession is a great gift...or whatever it is. We used to call temporary gifting gracelings.

Every christian should have the gift of prophecy according to Acts 2.
In response to this statement let me say:

1. No spiritual gift (other than agape love) is for all. See 1 Cor 12 & 13.

2. The gift of prophecy is the supernatural ability to speak the words of God via divine inspiration. This would make the words equivalent to Scripture. See 2 Peter 1. The apostles were also prophets.

3. The apostles and prophets are called "the foundation" of the church. They were given for the apostolic period. See Eph 2:20.

4. Now that we have a complete Bible the gift of prophecy has ceased. See 1 Cor 13 and Revelation 22.

5. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim 3:16) and is sufficient for all our spiritual needs.

I would have thought you of all people would have understood 1Cor 13. "Face to face" is when we receive our new bodies.
Also, where does people keep getting this unwritten rule that "once the Bible is completed, we don't need prophecy"?
Prophets are those who "speak for God". That doesn't mean it equals sola scripture. When I was in my late teens a woman came from another church to tell me I needed to quit playing around & get serious about my calling. I was instantly convicted, knowing she was right. God has used me in a similar way in prayer & giving a word to my church from time to time.
Read Acts 2. Every ministry of the prophet except teaching is listed there. Prophecies are still needing to be told concerning individual ministries. How else would we know unless God shows us in dreams, visions, & others confirming what God is doing in our lives?
When the pastor says something in his sermon that pertains specifically to that church, & wonders "where did that come from?, since it wasn't in his notes, that's prophetic utterance.

Romans 12:6-8 ESV
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Peter 4:10-11 ESV
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

1Cor 12:
4Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. 6There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; 9to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. 11But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.
12For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. (read the whole chapter)

Eph 4:9(In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth?b 10He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherdsc and teachers,d 12to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,e to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Notice there's something in every epistle here to the church. NEVER was there any epistle given specifically to Apostles alone. So every scripture here is given to the church to inform them of their current ministries, what they consist of, & why they're needed.
How can anyone look at the modern church & state we don't need these anymore?

I can see a wave on the horizon x2
It's growing larger, it's getting nearer
Oh, can't you see it straight ahead
I can see a wave...the harvest wave

What's the Spirit saying, what's the Spirit doing
What's the Spirit bringing in our day?
Hear the Spirit saying, see the Spirit doing
This is what the Spirit's bringing in this wave!

Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers
To prepare the saints of God for works of service
That the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity
In the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God...and become mature!

It's almost here!

Every christian should have the gift of prophecy according to Acts 2.
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

It totally confuses me why so many christians believe tounges is the evidence when prophecy is. It's right there in The Book.
Moses declared it in the OT, & still many miss it.
It is my personal opinion that many don't have this Baptism as they claim. My reasoning is they don't show the fruit of it.
My own Baptism had me praising God & quoting scriptures I didn't even know. I was told I didn't have it because I didn't speak in tongues. But I knew something has happened inside of me because there was boldness instead of timidity. New courage, new zeal to search the scriptures & study, a new zeal to pray, & a new understanding of the Kingdom.
I think too many people get caught in the gifts realm of the Spirit. The great of these gifts is our justification followed by sanctification.

I have to say, in all my life I have never had a person prophesy over me. I’ve had that gift before and used it in church while praying for God’s people. I’ve had a word of knowledge spoken to me. A word would be good right about now. It really does bring edification when people are obedient.

Not meant as a correction to what you are saying.
14 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, "especially prophecy." Tongues is easier to most people after they get the Holy Spirit baptism of fire. From what you said sounds like you talked to a legalistic Pentecostal. Pentecostal speaking in tongues, that is there thing. I can see God throwing a curveball to show He is still in control. I have seen God give gift of prophecy before tongues. If you want you can send some prophecy my way, i would like to see some.

I like that gracelings.
I have called it in the past moving in the spirit. When the Holy Spirit shows up in a place and all kinds working in the gifts get actives. The when the Holy Spirit departs most of it goes too. Not like having a gift that can be used with the Holy Spirit indwelt.
Am I right?

"the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you." - John 14:17
I'd say you're right.
