If you could live anywhere ON EARTH, where would you live and why?

Let's see. I've been a lot of places in the world and still have a hard time answering this question. But some of my criteria would be:

1) English speaking
2) not too crowded
3) lots of nature nearby and accessible
4) Doesn't get too hot or too cold
5) Reasonably safe
6) good logistics so I can get everything I need
7) has forests and beaches and mountains

So I guess the north part of the south island of new Zealand, parts of Oregon \ california, or southern scottish coast (maybe island of Arran) could all fit that bill. But I'm probably staying right here for things like work, family, ease of caring for dog who doesn't like other people or dogs, etc.

Tennessee easily fits all those criteria except beaches. Just saying.

For number six you probably want to live in a small town that is close to a large city. Best of both worlds. I recommend a small town that is close to Jackson or nashville. Much better than memphis.

I dont quite understand the mud hut in the woods thing though
wouldnt you live in a log cabin in the woods...or a treehouse?

A mud hut would work somewhere where theres enough mud to make it. Like Rotorua, by the hot mud pools

You have a point about the mud hut, though. I might have to settle for a treehouse. I do like treehouses, too. Easier to build than mud huts.

Tell me about it. I've lived in five places since 2016. And while I intend to stay in TN once I move there, I probably still have one big move left if I buy land and have the mobile home relocated.

Such a hassle. I just want to actually SETTLE down somewhere and finally have a place to call home for a while.

I would love Canada or Alaska if I could just stay snug in my cabin in the winter. Life demands that we go out and earn a living and do errands though, which is awful in winter.

Years ago in Maine, I slipped and fell on ice and broke my right arm. It was the day before my birthday in 2011. I lived in a warm climate in Florida for years. Plenty of lakes but no mountains to be found.

Yeah, it's the going out in the winter to earn a living that becomes problematic.

I recall calling round missions centres but when interviewed they just wanted to only send people that already had heaps of money.

Nope, mostly just the Christchurch area. YWAM base was located in a little town called oxford not too far from there.
