Lol sorry bout this but it’s how
My head works when I see your posts

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:44-46‬ ‭KJV‬

what pearls Of worth in our lords word

By no means ever apologize for sharing the word.
Your post complement with scripture my thoughts.
Thank you.

You are not pathetic, brother. At least I would NOT say you were as an insult. But your response to what I said on that passage was pathetic - because it was stubborn and needless. John was alive when Jesus came [back]. That is the point of what I was saying about that passage of Scripture. John died in his bed a few years later. Jesus spoke prophetically - He didn't speak vaguely. If you think about it you'll realise how that prophetic word of the Lord to Peter about John was fulfilled. Thats it.

Oh how great are the mercies of God that his TRUTH is not hidden from those who open their spiritual eyes and see!

Jesus stood firm in his Father, as we stand firm in him. He said whatever I have seen or heard from my father I have shared with you.

As clay in the Master's hand we have to trust that he knows how to mold and shape us that whatever we have heard or seen of Jesus we share also.

John most certainly was alive when Jesus came back. He died was buried and rose AGAIN, and appeared unto his disciples staying with them breaking bread and strengthening them for their own journey of fire for 40 days.

Then he ascended to the Father!

This makes me want to SHOUT.................

This happens nearly every day that I post. Just this morning someone began slinging dirt at me for no reason whatsoever. I'm beginning to believe that there are a vast number of folks here with serious mental instability issues. And if that's the case, I should back off and not push back as I do.
I don't believe it's "instability", I believe it's organized and premeditated.

Well some people will argue with whatever is said simply for the sake of arguing. If you say the sky is blue and you have boatloads of science and personal experience backing you up, someone will still jump in and insist the sky is yellow and have nothing to back the opinion except that they feel it is true and therefore it is true. Someone else will be a nitpicker and say that it's not actually blue but turquoise and gets mad that you generalized. Then someone else is going to jump in wondering about why people arguing about the sky has gone on for 27 pages of posts and that the whole thing is ridiculous in which case people get mad and start posting about how they can post about the sky if they want to and if the sky-hater doesn't like it, they can stop reading the thread, which will go on for another 14 or 15 pages of posts eventually getting to the point where someone else begins complaining about the thread being off-topic and another person telling that person that they are being off-topic for complaining about others being off topic. In the meantime one or two others start announcing how horrible people are in the thread which will obviously mean that others will object and go on for 47 pages of posts about how wonderful people are and how it's the best place ever and that their ancestors felt the same when they were alive. Then of course someone naturally declares that they agree with the OP that the sky is blue, which starts everything all over again from the beginning!

(Now i haven't been on this forum long enough to know if this cycle happens regularly here, but it seems to be fairly common with forums in general. :) )

They are not really "disagreements" but different aspects of the same events. Also the personalities of the evangelists must be factored in, as well as how the Holy Spirit guided them to write what they wrote. For example, Mark is very brief while Luke provides more details. But Matthew is more chronological, and John is more into the depths of Christ's teachings, while he omits most of the miracles. There is also the matter of focus. In Matthew Christ is shown as King whereas in Mark He is shown as Servant.
Thank you for your input, but I believe this is fairly covered in my post. Perhaps not in your named thinking, however it is.

I certainly wouldn't argue against it. However, I'm no mind-reader. People don't realize it, but He is aware of every . . . single . . . keystroke that we make. He knows each of our thoughts, and so those who belittle and berate, they prove that they do not fear the Lord.

Matthew 5:22 NLT - "But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell."

I have felt the Raw, Almighty Power of God and it nearly killed me. Thus, the above verse freaks me out. I AM guilty at times, and each time that I refer to one of God's Creations in a negative way, I realize that I am demeaning His Work. Scary.

Well, this has me pondering...

I have asked these kinds of questions and the ones Magenta asked too.

I am just a user, volunteering to help where I can. This is my first thought..Can you imagine the number of reports, the day to day dramas in the chat platform and here? Oh me oh my, I am often...:O???!!!

It is such a slippery rope, knowing where to draw the line. We can sometimes see school yard nonsense. I think the truly contentious ones will eventually cause enough chaos, just long enough to be banned. I think as decent Christians, we as individuals and as a group, should do our best not to encourage or participate in the discord with anyone who derives pleasure in running a muck. It is a conflict of interest for us all as a community.

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

I pray this site is being used by God for the cause of Himself, drawing more and more to Him and His tender-mercies.

Lord, help us to know when to encourage, and how to. Lord, when we come together to reason, help us use our words wisely and respectfully, even kindly. Help us all to know when to walk away, and when to be receptive to growth and understanding, trusting ultimately You more than our or others every thought. You are in control and I am so grateful. Lord, so much fighting going on in the world, in here, in so many places, online and off. I believe You are working, so I will keep trusting. Lord help us to rise up and continue to love, genuinely, one another, with mercy, always with You and Your cause in mind and heart!!!

I don't disagree with that, yet the passage in question is post resurrection. Jesus was speaking to Peter about John in that 40 day window you mention. Christ came to John before John died in his bed and after Peter died as an old man by stretching out his arms (crucifixion). I know how I am going to die.

John 21 is post resurrection and the words spoken by Jesus are all post resurrection. The words spoken to Peter about John are all prophetic in a prophetic dial directing to a future meaning. It is not an expressive past tense meaning. The passage is very specific - and all I am trying to do is demonstrate that it is a simple thing to fall into contention and then to miss the prophetic character of the word of God. The Scripture is entirely in the character of prophetic truth. It is always true and yet at times it seems to lie to us. And the chief thing that will separate us from knowing how a thing can be true - even when it seems like a lie - is our hearts. Even then we may have to wait many years to find it - though we may childishly shout aloud to the heavens - when we first believed - that there is nothing that we will not do for the Lord - seeing as He has done all for us and we now possess this gift of eternal life in our own bodies (earthen vessels) - the Lord will nevertheless require at our hand, obedience. Just as He required it at Peter's hand and John's hand also.

Pathetic.

Oh, not you of course. I was just responding to your exegesis of John 21:20-23.

I'd like to know who the MODs are here. Who's facilitating this public perpetual "Christian" discord?
Harsh words, but not true. What you see as discord is actually freedom. Freedom of speech. The only speech prohibited (to my knowledge) is speech that is blasphemous or false gospels. If you want a board where everyone is just "nice", because they're not allowed to disagree, try practically anywhere else. Perhaps Canada? Trudeau's putting the finishing touches into making that a fine bastion of Communism.

Disagreeing is one thing. Attempting to wound and damage the conscience of another person is a completely different game. When we berate and belittle, we are trying to [hurt] and [beat] someone into changing to become a better person. That . . . is insanity.

It's like saying, "Here. Let me degrade and belittle you. And when all is settled and done, you'll change and become the person I want you to be. A person just like me."

That is pure sickness and I see it here each day. Every day.

I agree. Christ called it murder, and it is using this site for their sin.

But there is also people working together to determine correct interpretation of scripture. Scripture tells us to put up with the murders, and resist not evil., hard as that is. But we learn through the debates.
