all Christians those born-again are in what is known as the sanctification process.
Complete salvation is: today we are saved. tomorrow we will be saved, and soon we are going to be saved.
Today is the day of salvation. You will never be good enough to be enough good to be saved. IF today you are to be called home you are saved or you are not. What we are to do is self-examine ourselves each day to see if we are in the faith. Work out our salvation with fear & trembling.
We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus. Some take that to mean they must know all of what the Word of God has to say. One can never reach that objective. We are in the sanctification process so the Holy Spirit can remove those things in our hearts and mind we are unaware of. Those things that offend God as we are being sanctified God help us remove them from our lives by getting the victory over them. More oil in the lamp, becoming the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Allowing God to perfect us in HIM through the process as we build our relationship with HIM. the flesh loses its hold on our lives and we become victorious to move on in the Lord. I don't have to create or do something when I am changed. my desires become HIS and the flesh is not profitable to those things of God because they are Spirit and not fleshly. This is why so many Christians are not satisfied with the walk with God because they have built their walk on false narratives. They study the word of God to use as a distraction to the temptation which leaves them to struggle when they are not studying. The walk becomes more of a work of doing instead of being.
They have no real prayer life.
