Don't think I've ever had that. I don't like to mix beer with anything. The only mix I've ever had was something a woman friend of mine made in my 20's called "Beergarita". I didn't like it either, but I happily complied in drinking since I was invited to her house.

Btw, I kinda wish the "Friendly" icon was a GREEN heart or something less Valentine-looking. On the flip side I'm thankful they actually have one designated for "Friendly".
Lol I always thought that.It looks more romantic than friendly. Maybe they need to replace it with a handshake.lol

Because wine making is a craft, and good wine tastes great. same with beer, craft beers are very broad in flavors and smells, and really the same with whiskey like a single malt scotch where the barley is smoked over a peat fire and then it is stored in a sherry barrel so that it takes on a hint of the fruit and the oak.
Not that you should try it or anything, just telling you what I like. Oh and why not enjoy what is ours to enjoy in our freedom? But I totally respect that you choose not to. That's your freedom, and I completely support that.
Oh and just for the record, or course you can feel how you want, but being offended is weakness. It's trying to control others from the weak position. I have a severe aversion to placating the the offended.
This is about how I feel. I'm not going to pretzel the Bible either to fit my views, the Bible sadly allows alcohol consumption, and many - not all but many - people abuse their freedom and like to quote the Bible too as they lie to themselves and make light of it. People are so self indulgent, if it wasn't allowed, maybe everyone would be on crystal meth instead and say it isn't mentioned in the Bible as sin, who knows, it wouldn't surprise me...
Combination of a large number of people being alcohol abusers & social conditioning. The social conditioning thing can change though, if drinking non alcoholic drinks when socializing is normalized enough. There are a lot of people who don't like nor want a drink, but will go along in company so they don't look like an oddball or "offend" if it's some occasion. Speaking now generally not Christians only.

So this is what I learned from my experience with alcoholics and drug addicts. (Outside of they are broken people and I love them). I guess some back story may help. I ended up in a foster home due to alcohol and drugs and the metal and emotional injury that follows. The foster home dad was an alcoholic and his wife a tea totaller but an evil monster manipulator and emotional abuser, I left as a teen, and continued in the trend of being surrounded by alcoholics and drug abusers. So what is the take away? I saw many good and lovely people with chemical abuse issues, and many monstrous evil. Same with the total abstainers, many evil many good. All broken. Now among those people were also the moderate drinkers, there was a lot less drama and evil among the moderate folks as a general rule. Not to say there weren't any bad people or broken people.
However here is the conclusion. I allow people to participate in my life at their own level, they can be themselves, however I'm in control of my environment, and have my boundaries, when people cross my boundaries I just tell them to back up a bit. If they don't, I send them on until next time. It's easy to say, hey man your drunk go to bed, I'll catch ya later or call tomorrow, or any number of other things.

I picked that phrase up from an atheist from YouTube, actually. She complained that we Christians pretzel everything, after I immensely frustrated her having a refutation to all her "Bible being immoral" complaints, she got enraged and shouted this in comments, but she had no other answer... I thought it was funny... Bless her and hope she's a believer now, wonder what she's doing in life. Since then I adopted "to pretzel something" whenever someone is twisting something to furnish their worldview.

Our walk with Jesus isn't a list of do's and don'ts. It is a true walk, a relationship.
He told us of the majority who would have an "outward form of godliness denying the power", and that seems to be what this thread is about.
"Can I do this", "am I allowed to do that", and that is a legalistic, non- relationship type view.
In relationship we would go to the Father for His direction. I had the grace to have a "libation" last night, with Clamato of course.
Wine is different. perhaps we shouldn't lump the "wine" as the Bible references and other alcohol containing beverages and especially abuse of either.
Was it possible back in those days to keep grape juice that did not ferment? I doubt it, perhaps that was where a difference was made.

Jesus demonstrated his authority by producing wine for guests at a wedding. In Scripture, wine is viewed as a blessing as long as used in moderation.
I recommend the book "Heart of Addiction" by Mark Shaw. While he speaks against addiction, he also acknowledges legitimate uses of alcohol. It is all about moderation.
In the 1800's some self-righteous Methodists started teaching against using alcohol. In fact, they developed Welch's grape juice so they could supply grape juice to replace the wine that was used in communion. Their self-righteousness is actually blasphemous and they replaced the word of God with their own piety by claiming that wine needed to be replaced with grape juice. The reality is that wine is considered to be one of the blessings of God, as long as it is used in moderation.
But, there are many legalistic individuals and organizations who think they know more than God. They hold the tradition of the Methodists, and are drug along by the hems of women. Examine those organizations..you will find weak-willed men and women leading them.
