Wisdom tells me that the Pauline Doctrine of Justification Solely by Faith is the correct Doctrine for the Gospel.
Salvation by grace.
Ephesians 2 (ESV)
8 For by grace you have been saved
Paul's justification doctrine:
Justification through faith (God's gift) for good works (God's preparation):
Ephesians 2 (ESV)
8 ... through faith... the gift of God, ...
10 ... for good works, which God prepared ...
James' justification doctrine:
Faith (God's gift) by itself, if it does not have works (God's preparation), is dead:
James 2 (ESV)
17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!
Paul's and James' justification doctrines corresponds, as it should.
Also hark Peter's warning of clarity regarding justification:
2 Peter 3 (ESV)
15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother
Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are
hard to understand, which the ignorant and
unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
and most important, the warning of Yeshua ha'Mashiach / Jesus the Messiah himself:
Matthew 7 (ESV)
15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.
18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.
19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.
21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
