When Peter told the Jews that Jesus died because they killed him, therefore they are to repent of that act, you regard that as the same as preaching Jesus died for your sins?
(Acts 3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.)
(Acts 3:18 But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.)
(Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;
Peter was preaching precisely the forgiveness of sins, in particular "killing the Prince of life", it's right there in his speech.
