If I understand you correctly what you are referring to is the difference between the Law/Torah and the tradition which are the commands of the religeous leaders AKA the oral tradition that became the basis for Judaism after 70AD.

Well actually no, I was thinking of something different.
There are some verses like this one
Leviticus 25: 18. "'Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.
Some of my brothers and sisters here on this thread had put forward the idea, I believe, that this meant that there were different categories in the law that Moses wrote down in the wilderness.
Their thinking went further, I believe, to the idea that the rules in some of these categories were still in effect today, while others were not currently in effect.
But other of my Christian fellows were saying, I believe, that the entire law would remain in effect until either heaven and Earth passed away or everything was accomplished.
