Apostasy/MAN of SIN revealed 1st
POST Great Trib/PRE-Wrath ingathering
I was raised in a church that taught pre-trib....I believed it, stood on it, dogmatically defended it.......then I had to teach through 1st and 2nd Thessalonians and while studying through the bible twice a year in Seminary I began to see things that did not jive with the pre-trib "rapture"
There are too many contradictions IMV to embrace that view any longer......
I spent some time today on review re: rapture and great tribulation.
IMO, the opinions regarding timing hinge upon what one defines as the "revealing" of the Man of Sin. Is it at the beginning of the 7 year covenant he makes with Israel (my view....so far) or is it when the anti-Christ breaks the covenant after 42 months (many other commentators including MacArthur seem to favor this view).
It could go either way, but Rev 11:2-3 clears up the matter for me.
“Leave out the court which is outside the temple and do not measure it, for it has been given to the nations; and they will tread under foot the holy city for forty-two months. And I will grant
authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
Much and many of the extreme horrors of the Tribulation period (all the way up to the 6th trumpet in fact) including opening of the bottomless pit and demonic torments.
Unless the book or Revelation is out of order regarding these incidents, I must conclude that the Harpazo event occurs a little before the beginning of the 7 year covenant. This to remove His Bride from what must be considered Wrath for all intents and purposes.
Another point: it seems likely that Israel will "receive" the anti-Christ as their messiah. That is enough of a revealing for me.
