Then I will disagree with you here.

Genuine believers will want to be like Jesus.
Do you mean by this all genuine believers will want to live like the sermon on the mount?
I have had many deny this, while claiming to know Jesus.

Some claim Jesus only shared the sermon on the mount to show how we are failures and
wrong to expect this life in God. I have always wondered at what Christ meant over each
issue, but I have always been convicted this is the narrow path, the way of life He has called
us to, and it is the path He walked.

To just say this for some is legalism, a lie, leading people to hell and determining I am a self
righteousness believer. Ironically Jesus promises if you hunger and thirst for righteousness
one will find it, which seems to suggest this is not a sarcastic dream, but rather a possible
reality in Him, by the Holy Spirit.

My friend, lying is defined as miss-representing others, which is sinful.
It is sad that you are determined to deny what I clearly declare, which is your right,
but I cannot agree with or follow. God bless you.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA OK PETER.......kind of like being banned 2 or 3 times and still coming back to post Psycho Babel while breaking the rules of the site.....all while claiming to be obedient and NOT yet saved until you walk as he walked......which means what about your supposed salvation??

Hi dcon,

Are you a believer in following the sermon on the mount, or is it just a declaration of failure and need?

Everything hinges on our spiritual loyalties, no matter how they are hidden it always comes out in the
end. All denominations in the protestant faith desire to follow the sermon on the mount, which as you
oppose all these groups ..... where do you stand? ..... but you can declare as you feel led or simply walk
away ..... God bless you ..... I for one desire to follow Jesus in all I can empowered by His love and
His Holy Spirit, Amen.

I do wonder why you would be shy about this loyalty or otherwise? What is at stake?
Would you lose your following or do all those who follow this approach similarly are shy about
declaring how they feel about Jesus's teaching?

Interesting idea. Are you referring to my temperature or dcons?

We are called to be a shinning light, and not to care how other defame or slander, or lie
about us. It is turning the other cheek, but deeper still it is simply saying, it does not matter
what sinners do against the people of God, we just shine, and rejoice and thank Jesus for who
He is. It has taken time for me to see this, but love is true eternally, and approval is through
the fruit of love shared in others hearts.

Haters, those who love evil and desire to stay in the swamp, will never come out, so it matters
nothing what they do or actually respond, because it will not change where and what they are.

There is a freedom found in spiritual reality that trumps conviction and intellectual assent, which
is always subservient to the Holy Spirit and His moving in our hearts.

of course you can't agree.

the Gospel is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. then, after that, begins the walk, growing more Christlike over time.

I have stated this to you many times, you have made it clear that you do not agree with this.

well, since this IS the Gospel, and you reject it in favor of a man-made church creed, then that makes you a lair. because you present the church creed as the Gospel, when it just man-made opinion using out of context verses, and ignoring word definitions.

Petey.....your Psycho babel and failure to obey the rules of the speaks volumes pal........the salvation you peddle is not biblical.....end of story, and for sure you cannot even follow the rules of a Christian website, much less the truth of the bible......

Thankyou for your endorsement of the gospel, salvation is through faith in Jesus and the cross for our
repentance of sins, following His ways as we follow and He moulds us into Christs likeness.

What is clear, no matter what I say, you wish to project something different.
And my friend, whatever you think you are saying, if it is follow the Lord, He is the way, Amen.

So I am happy, praise the Lord, if our brothers and sisters in Christ follow Him.
Thank you for witnessing to Jesus, Praise the Lord for His work in our hearts.

Dcon, thankyou for not answering the question.

For me, I have always stood in awe at the words of Jesus in the sermon on the mount.
There is nothing more profound and also deep than what Jesus presented and have
spoken to me from the first time I heard them.

Not sure what you mean by the rules of this site, can you please show me what you
are referring to, thankyou.

And if you feel the sermon on the mount is not the truth of the bible, God help you.
God bless FHS

Shinning our light is about love, truth, integrity, honesty, openness.
The ironic thing about these websites, is we need to be annonomous so we can have an open
discussion. I did think could you have a discussion like this in a church where everyone was
known. Unfortunately, part conversations would probably get missquoted and missused.

I know some preachers want their sermons to be only for their congregations for that reason.
But within these anonymous identity, progress can be made, and I for one have grown greatly
in faith, in love, in truth, in witnessing and in openness.

I have also learnt to take people forward, grace and love is needed to deal with extreme reactions
and to keep constrained reasonable responses which witness to the truth ruling our hearts.

And it is easy to get upset by responders, as if mocking responses are significant.
I used to wonder about the spiritual content of some, but now I see it is actually just reprobates
giving it a go, as if sinful behaviour is something God does not judge. And I like all followers of
Jesus feel fear and trembling to stand before Jesus in willful rebellion as if we are not warned
about His heart and His approach. God bless you

Blitzkrieg apologetics!

We took for granted how the mind coordinate our voluntary muscles so well,

And this intelligent design confirms Psalms 139:14

In the next two lines, I can prove to you that Christianity is true

Reply: but that's impossible

Response to reply: with man this is impossible, with God all things are possible

As I have illustrated, "for when I am weak, then I'm strong", and it is God who use the "foolishness" of the world to shame the wise

and the gospel is not of man's word, but the power of God himself (1 Cor 2:4)

and 1 Cor 1:18 - For the Gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

And 1 Peter 3:15

What was VCO'S lowest point of trust during his walk with God, and how did he overcome that struggle, or how was he delivered from that lowest point during his walk

Now your QUESTION DOES NOT COMPUTE. WHY ? ? ? You tied in LOWEST POINT OF TRUST IN GOD, which would NEVER HAPPEN. Did I have bad times, absolutely, BUT I KNEW HE WOULD NOT LET ME GO THRU MORE THAN I COULD BARE. There is NOTHING that happens to a christian that does not prepare him to be a better witness to those going thru that same kind of Problems, and therefore I can be a comfort to the Brethren.

For example the Death of my Wife was a VERY TRYING time for me, but I KNEW I had to speak to the family that were gathered for the Memorial Service. Therefore I spoke on how I knew where my Wife was, with the LORD, and then I told my personal Testimony, because I knew there were several in the family that were YET to know the LORD. I have understood that almost from the beginning, that the LORD allows negative things to happen to us, so that we will be a better witness to others.

YES my Wife's death was a serious GRIEF trip. I cried so much and I even when I got here, I wondered when the GRIEF would end. And posted a Thread about it. And leaned on Brothers and Sister in Christ, who were very kind, and caring, and a comfort to me. But Doubt the LORD would not carry me through, never.

Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV)
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NJB)
13 None of the trials which have come upon you is more than a human being can stand. You can trust that God will not let you be put to the test beyond your strength, but with any trial will also provide a way out by enabling you to put up with it.

That is why I learned early in my Christian Walk, to TRUST HIM. How long did the Grief last? About a year and a half. HE slowly allowed it to become fond memories, and wanting to go home in heaven, and determined to do what I can to encourage others here.

I you need a verse that says that:

Proverbs 26:26 (HCSB)
26 Though his hatred is concealed by deception,
his evil will be revealed in the assembly.

Proverbs 14:8 (NIV)
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,
but the folly of fools is deception.
