There will be a new heaven and a new earth after judgement day when the Lord returns. Christ set up his kingdom at his first coming
and like a mustard seed it has been growing ever since. Neither he Paul or any other NT writer mentions a literal 1000 year kingdom except John although they had plenty of opportunities to do so. Revelation is full of symbolism so why is it so difficult to see this one thousand year period as one more especially when it matches many passages found in Ezekiel including the Temple and the new Jerusalem complete with a river flowing from the throne of God.
Good point.
It would seem if we are instructed as to the kind of poetic language God would use in parables that men would search it out .Its why he hides the understanding giving us a desire so that we can view the gospel in respect to His wife, the church.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he
sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Revelation !:1
The word thousand is used numerous times throughout the scriptures to represent a unknow, concealed, meaning in respect to whatso ever is in view. . Even when used in time it is has signified meanings as a parable . A day 24 hours as
if it were a thousand years. as literal time not revealed, the manna hidden from natural unconverted man who does walk by sight after the literal.... not mixing faith in what they do see.
