You are Hilarious I am quite certain that home invaders are going to be overcome by your love while they rape and kill your daughters and wife.
They will be overcome with hysterical laughter at your cowardess.
You don't even know who Jesus is....he is the same as the OT God who said kill every man woman and child.
Your ate up by a few books.
The Old Testament is done away, fulfilled like Jesus says

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I come to destroy the law, or the prophets I have not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

You brother, will be judged for every word you say and be judged by every command Jesus tells you to obey.

I just couldn't do it if I was a coward that wouldn't protect my family or friends I would be to ashamed to get on here and brag about it.
And make Jesus out to be something he wasn't and isn't. One of his last instructions to the apostles was to lay their lives down for each other I guess they think it meant jump in front of a sword or spear or stone.

It is obvious that your mind was made up before you started this post.
Seems you would never lift a hand to defend yourself, your wife, your daughter, nor any other person if their life was threatened by an evil person.
That is very sad.

Please, never call police if you are threatened. They may kill some one defending you.
I used to feel that way. But I got old so now I will just shoot them. A 45 leaves a very big ole.

The right of taking a life for a life is power granted to governments by the Almighty. You see this mandate enforced again and again in scripture. The decree of the Lord to Noah concerning this has never changed. It was embedded into the Law of Moses. Governments exist by the will of God and we are commanded to obey those in power. Among the powers granted to government is the execution of murders. If you are just looking for some excuse to rationalize the removal of the death penalty, I am afraid you will not find it in scripture.
Under the rights of governments, abortion is legal. Is this the will of God? Don’t get me wrong, I am for the death penalty, but I am against changing the words of Scripture from kill to murder to fit a thought. When one murders, one is killing, taking life. I believe these two words are interchangeable.

Some governments allow the killing of others unjustly. Is this murder or killing since the rulers in place are of God?

The adulterer....is the walking dead under the NT....
"For say to you the adulterer etc etc etc etc.....shall no wise enter the kingdom of God.
So all that are “dead” under the NT, it’s ok to kill them?

Friend, I have not changed the words of scripture. I merely told you what the Hebrew word trə·ṣāḥ means. The primary meaning of the word is murder, not kill. The more common word for kill is harag as in Numbers 31 when Moses commanded Israel to kill the Midianite prisoners. "Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately."

It is not granted governments to murder the innocent of whatever age. It is granted governments to execute a murderer. Surely you can understand the difference. Governments, like individuals will answer to the Almighty for this overreach of power.

Is it ok to kill unborn babies since the government God has put in place says it’s legal?

It’s hard to understand changing the definition of kill to justify the new corrupt versions. Killing is taking life whether it’s “murder” or not. In the OT is was done to protect the seed line of Christ. Under the NT does the Lord justify killing? Just a question. Give NT verses to back your belief.

Physical death can be a good thing, or it can be eternally sad.

God made distinctions between accidental killing, wartime deaths and murder. If all killing was equal, it would seem God wasted a lot space in His Bible showing the difference.

Here is a short piece that clarifies the distinction for those without a shovel.

“Murder vs Killing”
I occasionally present a talk on the nature of truth, and as part of this presentation, I discuss the existence of objective moral truth claims. I often ask my attendees if it is ever “OK” to kill someone. Every group typically contains a large number of people who believe the Christian worldview condemns the use of deadly force unilaterally. But the Scripture delineates a distinction between killing and murdering. “You shall not kill” is actually not a command found in the Ten Commandments. The command from scripture in the original language actually says “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). The Hebrew word for “murder” literally means “the intentional, premeditated killing of another person with malice.”

Interestingly, most of us are familiar with this definition of murder, because it is reflected in the Penal Codes of our country. In my home state of California, the Penal Code provides this definition of murder:
187. (a) Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being, or a fetus, with malice aforethought.
Malice is a form of evil intent that separates “murder” from “killing”. Even today there are acceptable forms of killing that lack this kind of evil intent, and these forms of killing exist as exceptions in the murder laws of the United States. In California, for example, a homicide is justified (according to Penal Code sections 187, 196 and 197) if one of the following conditions is met:
A person kills someone accidentally
A person is trying to defend him or herself and prevent his or her own murder (self-defense)
A person is trying to prevent someone from entering his or her house to commit some violent felony
A person is trying to prevent the murder of someone else (protecting an innocent)

In all these situations, killing is actually legal and justifiable, and exceptions of this nature exist in the Penal Codes of every state in America. Even those who don’t accept the existence of God or the authority of the Bible recognize the necessity for laws like these; laws that allow for deadly force to be used to accomplish some greater good.

It’s interesting to note, however, these exceptions are not the invention of modern humans; they are simply a reflection of ancient Biblical Law. The Bible is the source for these modern laws and the exceptions come straight from the pages of scripture:

An accidental killing is not murder:
Exodus 21:12-13

Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death. However, if he does not do it intentionally, but God lets it happen, he is to flee to a place I will designate.

Numbers 35:22-25
But if without hostility someone suddenly shoves another or throws something at him unintentionally or, without seeing him, drops a stone on him that could kill him, and he dies, then since he was not his enemy and he did not intend to harm him, the assembly must judge between him and the avenger of blood according to these regulations. The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send him back to the city of refuge to which he fled.

A killing performed in self-defense (or in defense of one’s home) is not murder:
Exodus 22:2

If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, the defender is not guilty of bloodshed
A killing performed in an attempt to save the life of an innocent person is not murder:
Exodus 2:11-12

One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. (God did not judge Moses as a murderer because he was protecting the life of the slave)

Genesis 14:14-16
When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan. During the night Abram divided his men to attack them and he routed them, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus. He recovered all the goods and brought back his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the other people. (God did not judge Abram as a murderer because he was protecting the life of Lot)

Killing becomes murder when (and only when) it is not properly justified, and the justifications are clear: you can use whatever force necessary to protect your own life from a hostile aggressor, or to save the life of an innocent from such imminent, life-threatening danger. The difference between the legal or illegal use of deadly force is really a matter of motive, intent and justification, and these distinctions come straight from the pages of Scripture.

Do you not understand that Jesus is the one who Gave Moses the ten commandments. Revealed principles do not change between the OT and the NT. The only thing that changes is the methodology. In Matthew 5:21 Jesus reminded the people of the Law concerning murder. "You have heard that the ancients were told, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER ' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the court.'" The word he uses here is φονεύω which means murder. The more common word in Greek for kill is ἀποκτείνω which is used some 74 time in the NT. Jesus goes on to explain the deeper meaning of the commandment. "Thou shalt not commit murder" simply reflect the basic principles of the law. When he says "but whosoever shall say, ‘Thou fool,’ shall be in danger of hell fire" he is establishing the link between one's attitude toward his brother and the end result of that attitude. You begin to not commit murder by not hating your brother. You begin not hating your brother by not even so much as regarding him as a fool. The law "Thou shalt not commit murder" is simply the basic principle. What Jesus is showing them is HOW you do not commit murder.

Adstar, Heaven forbid that you should ever be involved in an auto accident where someone lost their life. If you were driving and someone died as a result, would you call yourself a murderer? Could you be forgiven?
