No intention of baiting though, more like reaching out, I really was feeling upset, but you are right, I was hoping to open a discussion
You open a discussion with a bunch of accusations? Nice try, but I think baiting is what actually happened. Using all caps like you are yelling is also telling. A lesson in humility seems in order.![]()
YOU are secure the moment you believe!!!! It is not up to any of YOU to THINK you have anything to do with the INCREASE!!!!!!, wether through treating your brethren as a non believer, or rebuking him because of what sister Tina said.....because sister Tina is quite the political figure...she’s very social and attends every service!!!.....she can judge!!! Right??? IM TAking a BReAK!!
YOU are secure the moment you believe!!!!
These kinds of accusations are thrown at Christians by the Accuser of the Brethren. While no Christians is perfect, no Christian is worthless either.
Not sure what you wish to accomplish with this OP, but coming up with a title like this --
YOU ARE A LIAR!!! -- is probably not a good idea.
My apologies, if I had said or done anything to add to your grief.
Haha Divine, on the contrary I have enjoyed many of your posts, I’m happy to read your words, wether you agree with me or not...

PTL.In this, we can rejoice... (together).
I try to keep the following verse in mind (not always successful at it) -
"15 Therefore as many as are mature should be of this mind. And if you are minded in anything differently, even this God will reveal to you." Philippians 3:15
Sure, so your question was, how is the Christian supposed to handle the situation in that story you mentioned.Ok Hevo, jump in, if you want, we can continue this story
Deal. And thanks for saying that. I apologize. Sorry.I do not dislike you, nor do I have a desire to out wit you with scripture....Deal?
Sure, so your question was, how is the Christian supposed to handle the situation in that story you mentioned.
Here is my opinion: Confront them about it then and there, straight up, ask them if everything is OK in their life, why'd they miss the service, is something going on, offer to listen and help them if they got some trouble, warn them about dangers of drunkenness (if he is drunken, if not then no problem) and ask if there is anything you can do.
I WOULD NOT go and tell to the pastor or any other brother in the church though, for two reasons:
1. I believe you need TWO WITNESSES
2. I come from the mean-streets, and we dont do snitching
3. Do unto others as you would have done unto you, the golden rule. I wouldn't like people starting rumors about me.
Deal. And thanks for saying that. I apologize. Sorry.
Here is the story you asked my response to:No problem, I am sorry if I came off side ways, it has been difficult to get to the indifference....we are each given something which should be considered in the Body of Christ...
I was thinking of starting a separate post with the story, and continuing it, if you would be willing to repost your response....or restart one yourself, I can do it when I get off work...
Maybe if we go through some of the real life interactions that we see happening day to day, within the church , similar to this story, we can learn from each other.....the cause and affect issue...I’m sure we will see many different takes on how a Christian should respond here....and add other fictional/nonfictional situations that many of us deal with day to day, and find it hard to process..
So...Mary is a member of the local church for 6 years now, she is very successful, she drives a nice car, has made many friends in her congregation, and a Facebook profile to prove it. One day, Mary stopped at a gas station to refuel. As she stood at the pump, she looked over and noticed a new member, Tim, walking into the convenient store, just as she finished pumping gas, Tim walks out with some goods he purchased, Mary walks over to greet him, “Hi Tim, how are you? we missed you in church last week!” and notices that through the thin bag, she can make out the word “Budweiser”........
This is what is going on in many churches, all over the country! I’ve watched relationships and families fall apart over works/repentance/fruit/judgement/gossip/treating brothers and sisters as non believers based on a shallow view.....it is why many people are getting the wrong message and not the FINISHED work of the cross
It would be so much better for you to show people the love and grace and power of the Holy Spirit, rather than casting stones.
I don't doubt the OP has been mocked for his message of doom.
That's precisely what I said. But you called Christians worthless.Being in Christ is what gives us worth, without him, we are “WORTHLESS”.
This is simply a nonsensical statement. Why would a Christian be *burned up* knowing that believers are sealed as children of God?I believe, with you, the thought of your brethren, being sealed as a child of God, burns you up!,
More nonsense from you. Christians do NOT define repentance or who is a child of God. It is God who defines and determines this things, and we are to simply put forward what is revealed in Scripture -- WITHOUT EMBELLISHMENT.that is the starting point, that is where the conversation should START, BEFORE you go on to speak of your personal definition of repentance, and what YOU define as a child of God..
Hi Rightlydivided,Let’s have a discussion without scripture posting
Hi Rightlydivided,
When I see posts which indicate that the discussion is to be "without scripture posting", it causes me concern.
I think to myself why does this person not want to know what is written in the Scriptures.
And as far as the "sin" issue, when we get to the point where our fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ is more vital to us than enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season, we'll forego the sin ... just my thoughts on the matter![]()
