No intention of baiting though, more like reaching out, I really was feeling upset, but you are right, I was hoping to open a discussion
You open a discussion with a bunch of accusations? Nice try, but I think baiting is what actually happened. Using all caps like you are yelling is also telling. A lesson in humility seems in order.

To be fair, he did seem to include himself in those "accusations" ;)

[I'm just wondering who else besides ME uses "quotes of [writers/commentaries/etc]" to make their points. I don't really ever see anyone but myself doing that :D LOL! ]

When talking to the children devil, just say I command you to leave In Jesus name. Or get thee behind Satan.

The devil knows hes wrong. If you want to cast out demons, esp from a believer you dont yell at them you just tell them to leave. If someone does not believe they may blaspheme and curse you out. If they do that, just shake the dust off your feet against them.

Check out this prophecy, in my bible its all in caps, acts 13:41

These kinds of accusations are thrown at Christians by the Accuser of the Brethren. While no Christians is perfect, no Christian is worthless either.

Not sure what you wish to accomplish with this OP, but coming up with a title like this --
YOU ARE A LIAR!!! -- is probably not a good idea.

Being in Christ is what gives us worth, without him, we are “WORTHLESS”...our Christian life, our walk, is a testimony to that.....read on, and you will see that the rebuking was not intended to those that walk in meekness, love, leading by example, which is “LACKING in the body of Christ” ....and from the perspective of those that are humbled EVERY day, and realize that God says “let every man be a liar, so that he is the truth”, what your saying does not give fair representation of the spirit.....you sir, are puffed up....This was not a message to those that are meek, quick to look down at the thought of his presence, and understand that the gift that was given , is without WORKS/REPENTANCE as a prerequisite for fellowship and heirs to the Kingdom.

I believe, with you, the thought of your brethren, being sealed as a child of God, burns you up!, that Zero work is required of him to secure his salvation....His Grace is sufficient for thee.....that is the starting point, that is where the conversation should START, BEFORE you go on to speak of your personal definition of repentance, and what YOU define as a child of God..

You Sir, preach self condemnation, you lead people BACK to Adam, You will never know, at what point of sanctification, they are in their life.....drop your guns, empty your cup, just like me..you are given nothing that I was not given....and it allll comes from God, along with the increase that you so desperately seem to want to take credit for, I’ll not rob 1 ounce of glory from the cross, and any attempt, would be WORTHLESS!!

Haha Divine, on the contrary I have enjoyed many of your posts, I’m happy to read your words, wether you agree with me or not...

PTL. :D In this, we can rejoice... (together). :)

I try to keep the following verse in mind (not always successful at it :D ) -

"15 Therefore as many as are mature should be of this mind. And if you are minded in anything differently, even this God will reveal to you." Philippians 3:15

Much easier to accuse, when accusing myself at the same time ..I guess in a way, it does bring out the self righteous, puffed up egos, in which the post was directed...I will admit, I didn’t think identifying self righteous egos, void of mercy and love, hovering around the Body of Christ, would be so evident, in the words of those responding...

Yes, scripture we can both identify with🙂

Ok Hevo, jump in, if you want, we can continue this story
Sure, so your question was, how is the Christian supposed to handle the situation in that story you mentioned.
Here is my opinion: Confront them about it then and there, straight up, ask them if everything is OK in their life, why'd they miss the service, is something going on, offer to listen and help them if they got some trouble, warn them about dangers of drunkenness (if he is drunken, if not then no problem) and ask if there is anything you can do.
I WOULD NOT go and tell to the pastor or any other brother in the church though, for two reasons:
1. I believe you need TWO WITNESSES
2. I come from the mean-streets, and we dont do snitching
3. Do unto others as you would have done unto you, the golden rule. I wouldn't like people starting rumors about me.

I do not dislike you, nor do I have a desire to out wit you with scripture....Deal?
Deal. And thanks for saying that. I apologize. Sorry.

No problem, I am sorry if I came off side ways, it has been difficult to get to the indifference....we are each given something which should be considered in the Body of Christ...

I was thinking of starting a separate post with the story, and continuing it, if you would be willing to repost your response....or restart one yourself, I can do it when I get off work...

Maybe if we go through some of the real life interactions that we see happening day to day, within the church , similar to this story, we can learn from each other.....the cause and affect issue...I’m sure we will see many different takes on how a Christian should respond here....and add other fictional/nonfictional situations that many of us deal with day to day, and find it hard to process..

Here is the story you asked my response to:

So...Mary is a member of the local church for 6 years now, she is very successful, she drives a nice car, has made many friends in her congregation, and a Facebook profile to prove it. One day, Mary stopped at a gas station to refuel. As she stood at the pump, she looked over and noticed a new member, Tim, walking into the convenient store, just as she finished pumping gas, Tim walks out with some goods he purchased, Mary walks over to greet him, “Hi Tim, how are you? we missed you in church last week!” and notices that through the thin bag, she can make out the word “Budweiser”........
My response is in my message above. Lets see if we agree on it. Hope we do. I believe it is in-line with the Pauline epistles. I specifically mentioned Paul since I know you guys consider it our MAIN DOCTRINE for this day. And I agree with that too btw, I definately agree that the MOST DOCTRINALLY applicable books in the Bible are the epistles of Paul, I believe EVERY CHRISTIAN agrees. Because theere is nothing there to "filter out", so to speak. (I dont mean IGNORE by filter out, but I mean things like Jesus saying to obey everything the Pharisees said, cause they were in the seat of Moses, etc.)

This is what is going on in many churches, all over the country! I’ve watched relationships and families fall apart over works/repentance/fruit/judgement/gossip/treating brothers and sisters as non believers based on a shallow view.....it is why many people are getting the wrong message and not the FINISHED work of the cross

Sorry to be so late to comment on this OP, but he forgot one horrible sin that divides believers and non-believers alike!

"The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." Gal. 5:19-21

This is a sin list. Everything on this list is of equal value, as that is what a list like this means. So, "fits of rage" like in verse 20 of Galatians 5, is just as bad as idolatry, witchcraft and drunkenness.

And before the OP designates himself an Old Testament prophet, with a direct line to God, and hence he is only displaying "righteous" anger, think again. Have you even read the OT prophets? Most of them were not angry at all, just communicating a message, and being beaten, chased, thrown in a cistern, and generally mocked or even killed.

I don't doubt the OP has been mocked for his message of doom. But, sometimes, we are mocked for being stupid, or basically not in tune with God.

My suggestion is that you learn about spiritual formation, which is Holy Spirit led, and leads to an amazing transformation in character and ministry and witness. Brow beating people is done in the flesh, in your case. I hope you can see the error of your ways. I don't disagree some churches have problems, but the way to deal with it, is not to rail and alienate your brothers and sisters in Christ, but look into the Biblical way people change, and that is by the power of the Holy Spirit. I know he will convict people of their sin, just like he has with me, since I was saved 38 years ago.

"And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment- concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; 11 and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been condemned." John 16:8-11

You are not the Holy Spirit nor a prophet crying in the wilderness. It would be so much better for you to show people the love and grace and power of the Holy Spirit, rather than casting stones.

I think this may have been the point being made in the OP (note that he included himself in the "accusations" that we are all guilty of, at times, when not walking in the Spirit...)

I don't doubt the OP has been mocked for his message of doom.
I'm thinking perhaps you may have misunderstood the point of the OP. Not sure. :)

That's precisely what I said. But you called Christians worthless.
I believe, with you, the thought of your brethren, being sealed as a child of God, burns you up!,
This is simply a nonsensical statement. Why would a Christian be *burned up* knowing that believers are sealed as children of God?
that is the starting point, that is where the conversation should START, BEFORE you go on to speak of your personal definition of repentance, and what YOU define as a child of God..
More nonsense from you. Christians do NOT define repentance or who is a child of God. It is God who defines and determines this things, and we are to simply put forward what is revealed in Scripture -- WITHOUT EMBELLISHMENT.

Looks like you have some serious issues, and not in this thread either. So take heed to yourself and your doctrine, and let the Lord deal with other Christians (since you do not have that authority).

Let’s have a discussion without scripture posting
Hi Rightlydivided,

When I see posts which indicate that the discussion is to be "without scripture posting", it causes me concern.

I think to myself why does this person not want to know what is written in the Scriptures.

And as far as the "sin" issue, when we get to the point where our fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ is more vital to us than enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season, we'll forego the sin ... just my thoughts on the matter :)

I'm glad you mentioned this! It was something I meant to post about - that his OP never quoted Scripture at all. So, thanks for this!
