He doesn't want to put that into the equation!
Has nothing to do with want, but rather being able to read the bible, believe it and place it above the Catholic creed you sell yourself out to....get your facts straight!

You notice how ben, changes is his line of Theological position to get you to agree with him.

We have been telling him that after you are saved, it will produce fruit or a product of Love, that will validate HE Loves GOD and other believers. AND he was insisting that it is part of Salvation. The psuedo christian cults will also say something that you agree with, before they TWIST scriptures, to deceive you to believing their false theological position.

[/I]
Both he and his creed loving pal are missing the mark. Faith alone saves and justifies a man before God ....no matter how many times they yank James out of context to say something it does not say!

You seem to ignore that using different words I have been saying the same thing.

I use logic due to my background in electronics using digital logic circuits and having taken a logic class in college. Still have that book for class after 45 years. For example.

Faith produces works.
No works no faith.

That is a short use of logic.

The Bible states faith without works is dead I just put that concept in logic form.

Get your facts straight. The Catholic Church was created under Constantine. Prior to that it was the catholic (universal) church. There were divisions of interpretation back then. You ignore the reason for the Apostles Creed doctrinal statement. There were heresies abounding as well as legitimate differences of opinion. The Apostles Creed was created as a doctrinal statement defining the beliefs a Christian MUST HAVE. Doctrinal statements are created as a means of stating a Biblical position taking into consideration all of the scripture on that issue. All denominations make doctrinal statements explaining their view of the Bible with scripture backing them up. You refuse to acknowledge the Biblical import of it. Why. Where is it false in what it says. Refute the content rather than the fact that it exists.

Sorry, I don't reject your definition of grace. Live faith is always accompanied by live good works. Look it up in the scriptures. Paul is the very example of live faith and live good works. How ironic.
lol, yes you do,

yes, a person who has living faith can not act like his old self, but it does not mean that if he does not mature to a superchristian he is not saved,

faith in God for salvation is a one time event which never fades.

faith in god to take care of my needs is another story, and ones eternal life is not based on that faith, his sanctified life is, the more we trust, the more work we will perform. But even baby christians are still adopted children of God, they do not lose salvation because they have not grown up

If a person stops producing there are several reasons why that might be.
1) they were seriously hurt in some kind of accident (God will judge))
2) they were deceiced (God will judge)
3) they still believe in Jesus, but they are too lazy and too busy to produce fruit for Jesus (God will judge)
3) they came to reject Jesus due to a zealous Jesus hater and the person accepted what they said (reject Jesus, Jesus rejects you - loss of salvation)

John said anyone who claimed to be part of us but now rejects christ were never of us. Period, your argument is with him not me.

as for the rest, people grow in different areas and circumstances to affect this, if my daughter lost her child and blamed me and stopped doing things for me because of it, she is still my daughter, blood can not be broken, we were purchased by blood, not works,

you want to boast and puff yourself up, feel free, but don’t count on me joining you

a simple formula that legalists refuse to follow- it is fine to point out wrong or sinful behavior, BUT, we should stop short of trying to judge if one is saved or not, because God knows there hearts . we don't.

remember , King David had an affair with a married woman, had her husband killed, and did not confess or ask for forgiveness until confronted . yet, many times God refers to him as a " man after my own heart ". why? God knew his heart.

Edward Mote (1797-1874) falls into the rare category of hymn writers who grew up without religious training and whose parents were pub owners. He was apprenticed at a young age by his parents to a cabinetmaker, but found faith when he heard the preaching of John Hyatt at the Tottenham Court Road Chapel in London at age 15.

"My Hope Is Built"

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare note trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
all other ground is sinking sand.

Written by: Edward Mote
Edward is right, and his hymn is a wonderfrul good work to keep us on the path.

Yes I can.

Did not the Pharisees place a heavy burden on people?
Yes they did.

Did Jesus say give me your burden and take mine?
Yes he did.

What's the difference?

What I'm saying is that the Jesus took the burden of having to jump through hoops to be saved and is saying "Because you love me you will jump through hoops because you love me"

Big difference.

Ps I never said God places a heavy burden on people.
I said man does.

Sad you actually believe I said that.

As I said "Jesus did not come to do that.
Do you think Jesus's life was easy and carefree? Free from burdensome good works such as healing the sick, preaching, counceling the downtrodden, raising the dead, cleaning the temple, going to church, organizing a church, etc., etc., etc.

Jesus wants us to follow him. These are the things he did by example, and we should try to emulate him.

BTW, I do not count good works as burdensome. They are not only a blessing to those that are served, but it is a blessing to me.

I am telling you what I have always said....FAITH ALONE is what SAVES A MAN ETERNALLY and that SALVATION IS AN IMMEDIATE POSSESSION with CONTINUING RESULTS FROM A PAST COMPLETED ACTION.......and that righteous works do not save, help get saved, help keep salvation, top off salvation and or finish salvation!
We know that good works do not save, but we also know that good works is a natural offspring of a new person, born again, with a live/vibrant faith in Jesus Christ. So what is your problem?

Hahahhahahahahaha wow man....you should do the following....

a. Lose your religion
b. Actually start reading and studying the bible
c. Be honest with the truth found therein

Jesus constantly compares us to trees, plants etc.....
In the context of my discussion with Bill, trees are a little different than humans.

Right away?

Tell me when a person is born again.

When were the disciples born again?

Are works fruit?

When was Peter the hot headed man born again?
The guy who cut off a guards ear, denied Jesus, was rebuked by Paul.

When did ALL their good works start?

Trees a little different from people???

Jesus said we are in the vine, the vine being him.

Does a vine automatically produce fruit?
What's the purpose of pruning?

Ps I can't recall mentioning trees.

But the same principle still applies.

In the church you go to do you set a yartdsick?

Or do you come alongside them if they are not walking as they should to find why?
BillG, all I said was when someone is born again and becomes a new person in Christ, good works follow. No analogy is necessary. Good works follows a person that is in the light of Christ.

Can a person temporarily fall out of the light, yes, and that is what repentence is all about, to get us back on the path of our first love and doing what we should as children of God.

Hey people.

Let's put our diffencces aside.

Please go to the Christian Family Forum.
Offer comfort and love and encouragement to Dude who has lost wife and is struggling.
I will do that, thank you. I do it out of love for Jesus and Dude, not for my own selfish gain, and some absurd idea that it will gain me a place in heaven.

My theology is the same today and yesterday. If a man has faith, it will be accompanied by good works. Another way to say it is: If a man has been saved, you will see an abundance of good works out of gratitude for Jesus's saving word. Another way to say it is: Good works is a result of salvation. No good works, no real salvation. It is all the same.

Faith produces works.
No works no faith.

The Bible states faith without works is dead I just put that concept in logic form.
But you are SAVED the moment you Genuinely Believe, then that Saving Faith, will produce day a fruit tree, and it WILL produce out of that LOVE, the fruit of good works. That Fruit has NOTHING to do with your SALVATION, which is a FREE GIFT; but can be a measurement of how much you LOVE the LORD, and Other Christians. Don't you realize that SALVATION is a FREE GIFT, and when you claim works is part of Salvation, you are ROBBING GOD OF THE GLORY FOR HIS FREE GIFT.

Romans 4:4-5 (NRSV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] Now to one who works, wages are not reckoned as a gift but as something due.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But to one who without works trusts Him who justifies the ungodly, such faith is reckoned as righteousness.

Romans 5:5-10 (NRSV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Much more surely then, now that we have been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.

John 14:15 (HCSB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] If you love Me{means you are SAVED},
you will keep
My commands.
{Something you WILL DO, after YOU are genuinely SAVED, as a natural characteristic of your new nature.}

If your blood daughter rejected you and went to court and had her name changed and over the years took you to court for many trumped up charges, and spray painted your home and made life miserable, you may very well eventually go to your attorney and write her out of your will.
