A person that is born again starts feeling the tug of good works right away after their experience with the HG. Trees are a little different than people.
Hahahhahahahahaha wow man....you should do the following....

a. Lose your religion
b. Actually start reading and studying the bible
c. Be honest with the truth found therein

Jesus constantly compares us to trees, plants etc.....

Edward Mote (1797-1874) falls into the rare category of hymn writers who grew up without religious training and whose parents were pub owners. He was apprenticed at a young age by his parents to a cabinetmaker, but found faith when he heard the preaching of John Hyatt at the Tottenham Court Road Chapel in London at age 15.

"My Hope Is Built"

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare note trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ the solid rock I stand,
all other ground is sinking sand.

Right away?

Tell me when a person is born again.

When were the disciples born again?

Are works fruit?

When was Peter the hot headed man born again?
The guy who cut off a guards ear, denied Jesus, was rebuked by Paul.

When did ALL their good works start?

Trees a little different from people???

Jesus said we are in the vine, the vine being him.

Does a vine automatically produce fruit?
What's the purpose of pruning?

Ps I can't recall mentioning trees.

But the same principle still applies.

In the church you go to do you set a yartdsick?

Or do you come alongside them if they are not walking as they should to find why?

Dcon keeps talking about saved by grace through faith. He keeps ignoring that faith without works is dead. Works therefore is a require result of faith!
No works no faith.
Jesus said we are known by our works. It is the good fruit. If we have bad fruit (works) then we are of Satan. This is how we are to discern the wolves among the sheep. Ministers never telling the gospel message, those promoting big bang evolution, and any denial of any the truth in the Bible for instance! I'm not talking about differences of opinion but total rejection of that part of the Bible.
If we have bad fruit then we are of Satan.

Are you serious?

If a believer has bad fruit they are of Satan.

Wow, you me and everyone else who have placed faith in Jesus are in effect the sons of Satan if we have bad works.

Is that what your saying?

I sincerely hope not and I hope I have totally got you wrong.

work is not th issue, faith is the issue,

we are saved by faith period, people who do not have any faith are not savd, period, he lack of works a non believe has or the work a true believer has means nothing, they are automatic (actually a non believer can do what we would call good works, those works are also meaningless, and a worker will do works, those works to are meaningless, as jesus said, depart from me for i never knew you.

You want to point to work. And claim people who stop producing lose salvation, you will always be seen as a legalistic worker trying to earn his salvation, period.

Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A MAN REAPS WHAT HE SOWS. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Revelation 3:1-6 To the Church in Sardis “To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me, dressed in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Luke 6:46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

Titus 1:15-16 to the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.

A work is still a work, how hard you work does not matter

2 people with the same job, one sees the work as easy, and does not have to produce much effort,,the second person thinks job is hard and has t produce much effort, they both earned a wage for their work. They did not gain a gift.

not of works lest anyone should boast, plain and simple

you still teach works, meaning you reject grace
Sorry, I don't reject your definition of grace. Live faith is always accompanied by live good works. Look it up in the scriptures. Paul is the very example of live faith and live good works. How ironic.

Sometimes if feel like I'm just a tiny raisin on God's grape vine, but I know
He loves me even if I'm just a tiny raisin on the vine....:) Yes Christians will
bear fruit but it is Jesus blood sacrifice that saves me.

Good thought, we are all very small raisins on the vine of Christ.

no, you teach works, there is no such thing as grace plus works, its either one or the other.

If i give you a gift, it is yurs, works has no part of the equation.

if i am giving you a down payment for your work, it is not a grace gift.

Your teaching down payment theology, not grace,

After working in electronics and software for over 40 years I adhered to the KISS method. (Keep It Simple Stupid). A corallary would be Keep It Short Stupid. The long dragged out posts are difficult to read and understand. Therefore I and many others ignore them!! Here is an example of short and to the point.

Why do so many ignore the Bible says faith without works is dead. Simply put:
No works no faith.

Longer version.
Faith is what saves Without works there is no salvation since the faith is dead.

If a person stops producing there are several reasons why that might be.
1) they were seriously hurt in some kind of accident (God will judge))
2) they were deceiced (God will judge)
3) they still believe in Jesus, but they are too lazy and too busy to produce fruit for Jesus (God will judge)
3) they came to reject Jesus due to a zealous Jesus hater and the person accepted what they said (reject Jesus, Jesus rejects you - loss of salvation)

He, and a few more of his "working for buddies" are walking, talking biblical contradictions....especially the one who elevates the creed above the bible as his rule of faith and practice.......the bible is replete with proof that ...

a. Works do not save
b. Works do not keep saved
c. Works do not cause the loss of salvation
d. Works do not finish off or top off salvation
e. Believers produce every flavor of work under the sun....some good....some bad
f. AND ALL TRUE BELIEVERS HAVE ALREADY DONE THE WORK OF THE HEAVENLY FATHER IN BELIEF!
Those that say they have faith will also be those that ready to serve the Lord, and of course they will also stumble once in a while and sin, which the Lord will forgive as they repent and get back on path.

Here is one of my 2 favorite hymns. It takes on special meaning when you consider who wrote it and what he did. In that era of sailing ships if the ship was in a storm that was bad they lightened the load by throwing cargo overboard. His cargo was slaves.

Amazing Grace hymn

John Newton (1725-1807):
The Former Slaver & Preacher. John Newton was an Anglican clergyman and former slave ship master. It took him a long time to speak out against the Slave Trade but he had an influence on many young evangelical Christians, particularly William Wilberforce.

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
T'was blind but now I see

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear
And Grace, my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come.
T'was grace that brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home,
And grace will lead us home

Amazing grace, Howe Sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found
T'was blind but now I see

Was blind, but now I see.

My understanding is that the tares are false believers teachers who come to destroy and seek personal gain
Not belivers who lose their gift (whatever that means).

The parable of the sower does not make sense here.

Jesus says

Matthew 24:24
24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Have a good deep dig into the context of the wheat and tares.

In the agricultural society of Christ's time farmers depended on the quality of their crops.
So an enemy would sow weeds.
Why?

To sabotage the business of those who harvest wheat.
Reason being for personal gain and put the sower out of business.

Mark 4:3-9

3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9 And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

There is no mention those on the rocky soil had the gift to begin with (whatever that gift is)
The seeds that fell on stony ground are ones that lost their gift. Here is how that worked. Seeds were thrown on rocky soil. They quickly sprang up, but because of no root, they were eventually gave up when the sun came out and whitered their leaves and they died.

Just like a person who accepts Jesus as their Lord and they have faith for only a season, but their roots in Jesus are not very deep and soon along comes a person and tells them something about Jesus that they don't understand and a mountain of information is given them that breaks their faith in Jesus. They therefore finally reject Jesus and the gift he offered them and fell away, never to be in his fold again. Perfect parable for the OSAS group.

I am telling you what I have always said....FAITH ALONE is what SAVES A MAN ETERNALLY and that SALVATION IS AN IMMEDIATE POSSESSION with CONTINUING RESULTS FROM A PAST COMPLETED ACTION.......and that righteous works do not save, help get saved, help keep salvation, top off salvation and or finish salvation!
Good works are a result of savlation. So if no good works, it is a clear indication of no salvation.

He doesn't want to put that into the equation!

You notice how ben, changes is his line of Theological position to get you to agree with him.

We have been telling him that after you are saved, it will produce fruit or a product of Love, that will validate HE Loves GOD and other believers. AND he was insisting that it is part of Salvation. The psuedo christian cults will also say something that you agree with, before they TWIST scriptures, to deceive you to believing their false theological position.
