The King James Version indicates that it is Paul who does not "suffer a woman to teach" and gives the reason for it.
Since Peter made it crystal clear that ALL of Paul's epistles are Scripture, it does not benefit anyone to try and suggest that some of what he wrote was simply his personal opinion. Here (as well as in other places) Paul speaks with apostolic authority as well as by Divine inspiration.

The King James Version indicates that it is Paul who does not "suffer a woman to teach" and gives the reason for it. The reason is that she was the one deceived by the serpent. I think the implication is that women are more likely to be deceived; therefore, they should not teach (they might be unintentionally teaching false doctrine).
The conclusion you have drawn is speculative. There is nothing in the letter to indicate that women in general are more likely to be deceived. Rather, Paul states that Eve (specifically) was deceived; this is in direct contrast to a false teaching of the time. Otherwise, you would need to make a logical, rational connection between an alleged prohibition from teaching and the creation order, before you make one between the prohibition and Eve's deception.

I am in perfect agreement with your statement but it does say "I" so I merely pointed out the "I" is the Apostle Paul and that title gives his writings authority!

So why mention that it was Eve and not Adam that was deceived? Furthermore, why does he then use it as proof that women shouldn't teach?

feminists are trying to destroy christianity. there is no doubt that christianity is a conservative religion that preaces that women and men have different roles. womens job is to be in the kitchen, clean the house and give her husband many babies. yes, the sciptures tells us clearly that women are not allowed to speak in the church, also women can not be priests.

^ So if a woman never gets a marriage proposal what should she [be allowed] to do?

Women whom GOD chose to lead from among HIS covenant people in the old testament have nothing to do with who should or shouldn't preach in the new testament church.
So you are saying that the Old Testament is not part of the bible and therefore obsolete? That's funny because Jesus often quoted from OT scripture. I guess that Jesus didn't get the memo either. How come that the woman should not allowed to preach in a NT church whatever you think that is? I guess that I should take your word for this.

Exactly. Keeping in mind that Paul was not merely concocting his teachings, but was receiving them from God the Holy Spirit, it is God who tells Christians that because Eve was willingly deceived, women have to pay the price, not just here, but also in the pains of childbirth. Ellen G. white was another one who was willingly deceived, and thus many false doctrines were incorporated into the SDA church.

Paul may not have suffered a woman to teach is not the same as God not allowing a woman to teach.

Come on now. Nobody is saying that the OT is not part of the Bible, and that Christ did not quote from the OT. Indeed the OT is a revelation of Christ as He Himself has said.

However, what you need to clearly understand is that the Church has received very clear teachings from the writings of the apostles to churches, which supplement the teachings of Christ, and indeed were received directly from the Holy Spirit. Therefore Christians cannot ignore these teachings.

Really? So will you just pick and choose what you will accept from Paul's writings? Since Paul's epistles are unequivocally Scripture, what Paul wrote is what God said through him. Take up your argument with the Lord God Almighty.

The member I responded to implied that by mentioning that woman in the NT church are not allowed to teach. If they are allowed to teach in the OT than they are allowed to teach in the NT. God makes no distinction between the OT and the NT. The bible was divided into verses, chapters, books and testaments by man and not God.

Hypothetically, what if a man in leadership starts preaching a strange message that is obviously wrong. Something hyperbolic- like Jesus faked his death and now we should all worship Mohammed instead. Should the women of the congregation remain silent too if the men don't speak up?

It seems there is a time for every purpose under heaven. I'm not going to let some man lead me into disregarding the OT.

I believe that everything in the bible is truthfully stated but not everything in the bible is a statement of truth. It is clear by the way Paul writes that portions of what he says is his own belief. That is not to say that what Paul says should be disregarded but great care must be taken as to whether or not what Paul says is totally aligned with God's will and desire. I have no argument and no problem at all with women teaching, preaching or leading as it is scripturally sound per the examples throughout the bible.

According to 1Tim 2 v 12 , saying women should not be allowed to lead . why is the scripture saying this? but this days we have great women of God.Can we now say they are working against the scripture ?
to those who are not of the world
we know from history what a jezebel did to a kingdom.
And we are Reminded by the Comforter, not to tolerate such.

Let a woman learn in peace, fully submitted;
but I do not permit a woman to teach a man or exercise authority over him; rather, she is to remain at
peace.

Then that woman (I will assume she is single) is not in a church but in a mosque! LOL! She should leave and go where the men will speak up.

Holy cow this has to be the most sexist point of view I have ever seen in this forum. I suppose women should also just stick to their knitting and bring their husbands a glass of wine once they return home and worship the ground they walk on?
Do you know how many women God has used to preach the gospel and save souls? God is no respecter or people and he will use those who he chooses even if it contradicts what man thinks is right. If my beloved stephanie and I were in church and she felt the holy spirit lead her to stand up and speak should tell her to be silent and let the me the man speak instead even though it wasn't me that the holy spirit called to speak?

Do not presume God would not use a women to do what a man will not because trust me he just might knock your socks off one day with this method
