No, you would be shot by illegal guns. You won't pass any laws that will be popular with criminals. They don't obey any laws now. Go ahead and pass some more: They won't obey those either.

(Liberal logic...)
I did some research on shooting bears. It was stated that a gun that can be shot quickly and often was the best choice. It needs to be a gun easily brought out and fired. The more hits in a short amount of time is required. A 9mm semiautomatic with a 17 round magazine is a good choice. Revolvers provides too few bullets. Bears move quickly so you have a short amount of time to put as many bullets as possible in it.I agree. A high-capacity 9mm should be all anybody needs for self defense. A .45 might be slightly better at stopping, but when you factor in the higher cost of ammunition for practice, you would probably be better off with the 9. At least, that was my choice.
For the "bear" question... I'm pretty sure I'd opt for the Glock 10mm.
I imagine AFTER an event such as a bear attack, I'd be thinking more along the lines of a double action .454 revolver.... with a couple of speed loaders, just in case.
I did research when deciding what to buy. I saw a gel block with several different calibers including magnums. I was shocked to see that all bullets had the cavitation and stopping point of the bullet line up. No difference between the magnums and other bullets. Second item is all police around the world carry 9mm or 40 caliber, almost identical calibers. Ammunition costs are slightly cheaper for 9mm. Therefore I chose a Ruger P95 to buy. Well made weapon and under $400.Yeah, 9's really the best for now. That'll change sometime down the road, I'm sure. But modern defensive round capabilities have pushed it to the front of the pack when all things are considered.
It never ceases to amaze me the illogical of liberal/progressives. They ignore the simple fact that criminals ignore laws. No, you would be shot by illegal guns. You won't pass any laws that will be popular with criminals. They don't obey any laws now. Go ahead and pass some more: They won't obey those either.

malfunctions because you're shooting it in a desperate panic,
and if a bear's charging you, that's what you'll be in.
I'll stick with my Redhawk.

Redhawks are amazing revolvers. When they first came out, I ended up with one of each... .357, .41 mag, and .44 mag. The .41 mag was my favorite... 5 1/2" barrel, and I put the Ruger "express" sights on it. Shallow v in the back and an ivory dot up front.
I ended up trading them all off at one time or another. Now that Ruger makes it in .45 Colt, I might have to get another one. They have one of the smoothest double actions I've found on a big bore revolver.

Your choice. I will go with the experts on how to deal with an attacking bear. As many bullets as possible. I will have 17 to your 6. The same problem you would be facing. I saw a gel block with several different calibers. All cavitated and had the bullet stop at the same point. 44 magnum ended up the same as a 22. There is the additional shock value of a larger caliber but penetration is the same. Fragmentation bullets are a different story. Larger caliber bullets mean fewer bullets in a magazine. Therefore I go with the experts saying the more bullets in a bear the better. You have 6 to my 17. I'll stick with my Ruger P95.Capacity's irrelevant if your (insert preferred 9mm here)

That is a nice handgun!Speaking of 9mm's.... (how's that for a segue?)
I was looking online at the new Sig P365, and it looks like it might be a winner. I need to put one in my sweaty palm and see how it feels, but if it is as nice as reported, I might just have to get one.
I have heard that Sig has postponed shipping them, initially, because of some issue or another, but it looks like it might be the real deal... time will tell.
Perhaps the ultimate concealed carry pistol..... 9mm, 10 rounds, slim enough to carry very well. I think pricing will be in the $500's somewhere...

For some reason liberals/progressives believe that laws making guns illegal will get guns from all. They ignore the simple fact that criminals ignore the law!!!No, you would be shot by illegal guns. Maybe he means that it's scary she could choose a boyfriend that could kill her. I still don't see where the hollow points come in: Maybe more lethal and messy.I'm sorry... I don't follow... what makes it scary that she was killed with hollow points?
A regular bullet puts a hole through you unless it strikes a bone. A hollow point splinters and creates multiple areas of damage thus more life threatening.Maybe he means that it's scary she could choose a boyfriend that could kill her. I still don't see where the hollow points come in: Maybe more lethal and messy.
