Salvation is a one off event based upon faith....it is eternally given at the moment of belief....it is not a process of hoops to jump through, is not losable and is based entirely upon Christ, his work, his shed blood, his promises, his power, his mediatorship and he will finish every work of FAITH he begins in All who are genuinely saved by faith without the added baggage of men and religion!
Tell that to Judas, that will make him feel better.

Do you believe this saying of Jesus is the truth?
[h=1]Matthew 6:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.[/h]In my bible, if God does not forgive you of your sins, you will be full of sin forever, and you will not be able to enter into His presence. IOW you will not be saved in His KOH. Am I right?

The only Baptism that involves every person that made a true commitment to Jesus Christ, is when the Holy Spirit Immerses Us into the Body of Jesus Christ; even the Thief on the Cross.
Then why did Jesus have to be water baptized to fulfill all righteousness? (Matthew 3:15)

Tell that to Judas, that will make him feel better.

Attitude much?

Judas never trusted in God, he was a thief from the beginning, He never knew eternal life, nor desired it. So not sure he would feel better about anything.

And your nonsense about you are as born as the spirit as everyone else. Is wrong. You do not have the same gospel we have. So one of us is not correct. Paul said anyone who had a different gospel is accursed. If you think you are saved, thats fine, it means we are not. But to stay we both are. Is flat wrong.

John explained it, and it was NOT to get saved, to have his sins washed away, or to join a church.

John 1: 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ 31 I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”32 And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him. 33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

OH YES, and it was not my infant baptism. I following Him years later, in Obedience into the waters of Baptism, but that has NOTHING TO DO WITH SALVATION.
I am glad that you decided to obey and be baptized. The question is, what if you had disobeyed and decided not to be baptized because someone shamed you enough that you finally decided that it was not necessary?

Would Jesus have just stepped forward and forgiven you, just like it was any other disobedient action you have taken or will take?

What I find interesting is the following, and yes I've asked myself the question.

Where in the NT does it say that the disciples were baptised after Jesus rose again?
I would think if it was important enough in terms of baptism saving us then I'm sure it would have been written.
Are you aware of any of the disciples being rebaptised?

Ah...no. There is only one requirement to be saved. There are not bases to be covered. There is one base - believe and trust Him.

I've never received a water baptism but I received His Spirit and commune with Him often. He gave me His Spirit without a water baptism.
Have you decided to dig your heals in on this matter? Do you not feel the tug, every time you read a Phillip and the eunuch, who after just a few minutes of discussion believed what Phillip said and believe in Jesus, and Phillip immediately pulled the carriage over and took the eunuch into a nearby pond and water baptized him? Or where Jesus and his disciples baptized many (but Jesus did not baptize, but his disciples). Or in Acts, as people believed, they were water baptized.

Water baptism is taught all through the NT beginning with John and ending with the great commission to the apostles from Jesus, to go into all the world and preach the gospel, and baptizing those who believed on your words? You have to really ignore much of the bible in order to not be water baptized. May the Lord be with you.

Please to meet you benhur, it is not evil to be baptized, I was baptized and still remember the date. And of course most know that John baptized Jesus just prior to His testing in the wilderness. As a disciple of Christ we should do likewise.
Thank you, TruthTalk, I like your picture and your story.

He can't.
Judas is dead:cool:

Seriously though.
Do you think Judas would have been baptised by John the Baptist?
If so then was he not saved, after all John said

Matthew 3:2
2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

What was the repentance that John talked about and why one should be baptised?

Was it to save them?
How could it save them because Jesus had not yet started his ministry.
If that's the case what saved them?

John 6:28-35

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.
30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Did Judas truly believe that the kingdom at hand was Jesus?
Did he place his faith in Jesus?

Obviously not....he and about 3 or 4 others have the same opinionated, regurgitated religious response.....the same old working for Pharisee"ical" dogma and Cainology that has been pushed since Cain offered his works and was rejected.....
Then explain to us Ableology? Able offered his works and they were not only accepted by God, but commanded by God.

Cain offered unclean works, and God did reject his works. Which brings us to Paul's use of the word 'works'. As in the Cain and Able example, Paul is telling us that there are unclean 'works' that will get us nowhere, but Paul also talks of ' good works' that are important to our eternal life. Good example, thanks.

Abel did give back his work. works. He did not work to get the lambs mother pregnant. He did not work to give birth to the lamb, He did not work to make th elamb unblemished, the lamb was a gift from God and he gave it back in offering.

Cain did HARD work to till the ground, He did HARD work to plant the seed sand cultivate it, He did hard work keeping the garden for of weeds and he had to also do the hard work of harvesting the food.

For one who has dug their heals. To ask someone else if they are going to do the same is prety sad don’t you think?

Prior to Jesus being led by the Holy Spirit to be tested in the wilderness, He was baptized by John who said, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Matthew3:14 If Jesus our Lord was baptized, then we should do like wise and be baptized Joyfully. Not as a work to save us but to publicly testify of our faith and oneness in Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection.

It was the most honoring privilege I have ever known to have been baptized, "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

The Great Commission
18) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20) and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
AMEN......and Jesus was the Son of God by Birth dia the Holy Spirit overshadowing Mary and not by immersion!

You are very close to flaming in this post. Because I do not believe exactly like you believe does not mean that I cannot read, or that I am dishonest and it does not mean that I am as blind as a bat with no echo location. So be a little more kind with your rhetoric, like a good Christian would be.

You have been born of the spirit, so have I, and so has many other people on this forum. We all have our views about baptism and how important it is or how unimportant it is. I present my position, you do too, but you also call people who differ with you names, and that indicates that your position is weak. So learn how to discuss the issues without resorting to name calling and it will be better for all of us. After-all we are brothers in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
There is one correct message of salvation and your embellished version is not it!! Let that sink in!

Tell that to Judas, that will make him feel better.
If you think Judas was saved and then lost it <---confirms you

a. Cannot read
b. Reject what you read

A devil from the Beginning
A thief holding the bag
The Son of perdition
Have not I chosen you 12 and yet one of you IS (BE VERB) A DEVIL

Take your false, losable salvation some place else pal!
