You need training, so you are safe and comfortable with both use and accuracy.
Weapons are useless unless handled well and with real intent, which is soldier like
training. All my kids can shoot and have trained with the army. So know your enemy
and know what you will do, your life depends on it.
I don't have one of those though. I'm afraid of the ones I do have and that one sounds more powerful.
Go with the shotgun sister. It's harder to miss. Get some buck shot for it and just aim it best you can at those wild beasts. Join a gun club and get comfortable with handling them. Too be honest, the .357 is probably too much gun for you. Maybe get a small 9mm, easier to handle. My wife is proficient with mine.
I don't like shooting and don't know if I could ever become comfortable with it. I am afraid of loud sounds so I have a hard time making myself practice even though I have friends that have tried to get me to practice.
One of my friends told me that I'd be better off using the shot gun because you can't really miss with it, but it is so long and awkward to hold, and the pistol can get more shots off quicker. So I'm just wondering what you guys think would be the best to use for a poorly skilled person like me.
I hope I never have to use either.
Thanks, that's what one of my friends told me about the shotgun and the 357 is pretty heavy. I have a hard time holding it steady. I just like it cause its shorter. Probably would do better with a smaller pistol.

You would be surprised to get to know how easy it is to miss when firing a pistol or a revolver.
I was hoping that I could just fire one and scare someone off. But was told when it is an emergency you have to use them like you mean it or someone might just take it from me and kill me with it.

You need upper body strength. Shooting is a martial art, and you need to lift weights to train for it.
I'm a pretty small person. I do workout and lift hand weights but only 5 pounds sometimes 10, but maybe I should go for more weight.
Then I might not even have to use a gun.

You should lift so heavy that you scream german curse words that you never thoughr you knew.
I thought about getting a 22 does that even count as a gun because I can see from the pic. it is on top all the way to the left.
So it might be the best option for me then. It's probably a smaller gun with a less of a kick, and I don't really want to kill anyone. It should be enough to stop someone from attacking me shouldn't it?
