I've learned quite a bit in a short amount of time, I listen to my church's sermons on my phone I downloaded their app and listen to one each morning, ive done made it through 3 years worth since June! but im also reading my bible to get the exact correct verses and stuff not just by hear say of what the preacher says, but he does explain it well. but im still not to the point of being able to quote bible verses to match whats going on in my life or other's lives to help them or myself.
.... he turned it over to me to maintain for him so basically it's mine now.

Don't be ashamed. We learn something new each time we read the bible. The Word of God is very much a Living Word.
You are not alone in feeling that way, sister, but God uses all things to further His kingdom, and we are loved and forgiven regardless of our lapses. Don't feel bad. There are alot of people here who don't know everything that's in the bible. I grew up going to church, in sunday school and youth groups, even went to a christian high school where we had chapel once a week. I used to know ALL the books of the bible, in order, and by heart. I don't anymore, except for Matthew, Mark Luke and John..lol.. and I feel like such an awful christian for barely reading it now..
Absolutely! I want to encourage that in a huge way. You are thirsty and I delight in seeing that, stay encouraged, my comment spoofed our threads but there are very real meat in there too. Let me encourage another source of memorization and bible study info that may help as well: try Navpress.com and in there look up the 2:7 series which has "growing strong" and "Deepening your roots" and "Bearing fruit" etc that are great faith building blocks as well. I high five you in your quest to give God your best, and pass life's tests. You encourage us all.

Yeah the rest of the bible forum is pretty brutal. I avoid it except for this thread. I usually hang out in Miscellaneous, though I leave hit-n-run replies in many forums.

Hey now! I used to think that too, I've been a Christian for 10 years and never even truly understood grace until a few months ago. I honestly just started to understand how important it is to seek God everyday and in all ways possible. Saves me a lot of headaches. Could've saved me from my 10 years in the wilderness. BUT, everything turns out the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
