Who all celebrates Halloween on here? as far as taking your kids trick or treating - or for older folks- giving out candy at your house........Is it bad to celebrate it as a Christian? My daughter goes to a Christian Pre-school and they are having a party but calling it a " Celebrating Fall Party" not Halloween, and strictly no costumes. whereas my older kids in public school are having Halloween parties with costumes.
My wife and I were just talking about Halloween this morning. That was a favorite day for me in my childhood. Living in Detroit there were hundreds of houses to choose from and thousands of kids trick or treating.

Which user is your wife on here? It seems every year less and less porch lights are on! We are going to a children's museum tomorrow night, still undecided on going door to door.
My wife is JesusLives and we met on this site last year. You are right. My wife said that she has not had one trick or treater in the 12 years that she has lived in our home. Kinda sad really.

It is quite a love story. We would sing love songs to each other during the last couple months of my thread in Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It is fun reading, that is for sure.

Did y'all live nearby each other? I just can not believe that, that is so so so sweet!! God really had a plan for y'all.
She lived in Clearwater, Florida and I lived in Apopka, Florida just outside of Orlando. We eventually met a couple months later and I relocated to be close to her. We would exchange actual letters via snail mail and talk several hours each night. We got to know each other very well before we met though our posts in CC. It has been said that this site is not a dating site but it was very much a courtship site for us. We are happily married sharing our lives with each other.
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act." Psalms 37:4-5. Who says, Good things don't happen to good people?!! Smile-Right?!!!
Heartfelt prayers for all my friends who are suffering in any way, Father God I lift up my brothers and sisters to you, yea, even those who would be my enemy I ask that you heal them, Lord, prayerfully I seek Your will in this as in all things, and though in my flesh I fail, in my spirit I seek You and Your love, Your Grace, Your Mercy, and Your healing for all. Father God we know You love us, we know that everything works together to accomplish Your good purpose, to You all praise and power and honour and glory belong. Thank You, God, for all You have given us, all You have accomplished already, please help us Lord, alleviate our blindness and lack, direct our paths, Lord, pour out Your Holy Spirit and fill the longing aching needs of our hearts, so easily distracted despite the fact what we really seek is You in all things, for You alone are the answer. Well, my kids are celebrating it, everbody is around here, to me it is all in good fun, and I think the whole Halloween mess is good for retail lol. They gotta make some cash, poor folks
. I know theres some grumpy folks down the road here, and they dont like Halloween...or anything else for that matter lol, but I have instructed my kids not to go there.
If you look elsewhere in the bible forum, and/or miscellaneous forum, you'll find threads about halloween. Your question here could spark a debate, and this specific thread is a no-debating thread, per request by it's OP.
Btw, i eat halloween candy and watch scary movies..lol
