played piano for a memorial service for a 90-something-year-old lady who seemed like a really wonderful, godly woman. It was kind of stressful for me though - I was given a copy of "The Lord's Prayer" in a key I have never played it before because the sister of the deceased needed it in this special key.

Some standard hymns, then a church member is also singing a hymn which our hymnal does not have, so one of the church ladies who happens to live across the street from the church says she will walk home and get it from a hymnal that she has at home.

All this just an hour before the service. So I do a couple of run-thrus with the sister and the other guy, then I spend about 15 minutes in a back room looking at the areas which needed work, since I couldn't do that in the sanctuary anymore as the room was filling up.

Anyway, it ended up great. By some miracle (and I mean that literally), all the really sketchy areas sounded good. Praise God!

I went to the reception area afterwards for a nibble of something and some coffee, but was treated instead to coffee, all sorts of cold cut sandwiches, a variety of salads, and a plethora of desserts because....Lutherans.

Play on facebook and CC a bit...nap....woke up more tired than before nap.

Now trying to figure out something wonderful to do with the chicken thighs I just defrosted because nobody wants leftovers or beef. So it's back to the mundane. Mundane is good sometimes.

I love this!

Plus? You have such lovely hands.. and I love the tattoos too!

haha! That is my daughter holding the skillet up. She likes to paint her arms and legs sometimes. I don't know what I would do with a normal daughter.

Leftovers? Who doesn't want leftovers? Send them to me. Before Lynx - refrigerator is known as "Resurrection City" because people put stuff in and take it out three months later covered in new life. After Lynx - refrigerator is rather empty of anything that used to be on the dinner table.

And your Lutherans do a funeral the way ALL the churches down here would do it.

Oh, you'd like these leftovers: shrimp and gnocchi stir fry with spinach, steamed broccoli. I shoulda taken a pic of last night's dinner.

I think we need a food pic thread.

...I knew those weren't your hands because if they were then God would have had some 'splainin to do.

I am sorta disappointed that those tattoos aren't real.

But I'm glad that the music worked out. I had no doubts that your musical skill would rise to the moments.

Lol a food pic thread is brilliant.
Just not in OSAS thread
I must draw the line

I think my eyes being open means I am awake. That's awake right? Eyes open?

Bread is proofing, and I'm going to take a nap. My noggin hurts something horrid.

Awww Ole.
I pray your headache is better this evening.
Have a relaxing time if possible :)

Oh, sounds lovely :)

How long have you played the piano?

Back to food?

Imagine a waffle sandwich with spicy sage sausage and an over easy (but whites all cooked through) egg. Imagine that sandwich being in my belly. Imagine me happy.

Why, it must be a sign from Heaven; two posts in a row mentioning this chicken :D!

MrCriss, you get cho' sef down to the hardware store and buy materials for this hypothetical chickun! Your wife will take care of the rest :D!

Oh, no, I thought it was just you guys being weird, Ole.

Using the word "weird" loosely and very affectionately, of course :D!

Besides, who wouldn't want an awesome metal sculpture of a giant chicken-human hybrid in their yard?!

:p I'll own to some weirdness. In fact, one of my informal family nicknames was Weird. It's a known thing.

Olerica, I would like to assert that anyone who isn't at least a tiny bit weird will not be happy in this forum. That most certainly includes myself.

I think I'll leave before my reasoning skills are completely gone. 'Night, peeps :).

Cold Chisel band formed in Adelaide, Australia. Along side with Mr. Hills. Tintin would be happy to know that.

Busy day, but good day. Praise God (not exclusively because it was a good day, either).

Bass practice is helping as of late. Maybe I should write a song(?).

I feel like watching a B flick.
