No God did not sin, as His repentance was about His change of mind to destroy a certain person or place.
He had a change of mind to not issue out that punishment on them. For us the repentance is toward the sins that we walk in because they make us enmity (separated) from God.
In order to be reconciled to God we are to have faith in our Lord Jesus and follow what He said, and part of that is repentance of sins and baptism in Him as a sign of a clear conscious to accept His ways to lead our life.
Goodness. Sins do not separate us from God. Never have. Surely you remember that God actually came looking for Adam and Eve after Sin #1, and he called out to them... and He covered them in their shame and fear.

That's as bad as going for that old line that God can't be around sin. Was Jesus, God in flesh? Was He?

Did He not walk and talk with sinners every day? He even "touched" them.

Isaiah 59
59 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save,
or his ear dull, that it cannot hear;
2 but your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden his face from you
so that he does not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood
and your fingers with iniquity;
your lips have spoken lies;
your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 No one enters suit justly;
no one goes to law honestly;
they rely on empty pleas, they speak lies,
they conceive mischief and give birth to iniquity.
5 They hatch adders' eggs;
they weave the spider's web;
he who eats their eggs dies,
and from one that is crushed a viper is hatched.
6 Their webs will not serve as clothing;
men will not cover themselves with what they make.
Their works are works of iniquity,
and deeds of violence are in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil,
and they are swift to shed innocent blood;
their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity;
desolation and destruction are in their highways.
8 The way of peace they do not know,
and there is no justice in their paths;
they have made their roads crooked;
no one who treads on them knows peace.

9 Therefore justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not overtake us;
we hope for light, and behold, darkness,
and for brightness, but we walk in gloom.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind;
we grope like those who have no eyes;
we stumble at noon as in the twilight,
among those in full vigor we are like dead men.
11 We all growl like bears;
we moan and moan like doves;
we hope for justice, but there is none;
for salvation, but it is far from us.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before you,
and our sins testify against us;
for our transgressions are with us,
and we know our iniquities:
13 transgressing, and denying the Lord,
and turning back from following our God,
speaking oppression and revolt,
conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words.

And what was torn, from top to bottom, upon Christ's death?

Now you're pulling our leg.Sin doesn't separate us from God? Jesus came looking for an explanation from Adam and Eve.Ask any child that has done wrong when mom/dad comes looking for them. Yes he covered them because they now knew the difference in good and evil.He also booted them out of paradise!!

unfortunately, he's not joking. he really believes the lies he was told. and like a catholic, unless he renounces whoever he trusted in the past, and turn to trust the one true god, by grace in yahshua through faith in him, a gift,
then
like a catholic, who keeps trusting what they were taught in total error, he won't repent to be saved by the only one who can save him.

everyone used to trust someone or something other than yahweh. only those who repent have a chance to ever know truth.

No, God did not sin.So simple.He repented,was sorry for....

Repented meaning...view or think of (an action or omission) with deep regret or remorse.

No sin involved in that case.Obviously.

Second meaning of repented ....

feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin

Anyone have a word study on this?
sorry, I disagree when repent is used an adjective to describe an action God did not take, it means God CHANGED his mind....

God did not repent as a sinner repents of sin.Thats the point.We can argue what repent means all day.Its not the same.

remember not so many decades ago when gay people were simply happy people ? (still may have been sinners of course - like with a partying spirit or gamblers or alcoholics or political parties; but it was just an adjective of a person describing their attitude at the time, and not a noun indicating their state of being absent from god's presence.)

I dont know if he's willfully blind or ignorant of the truth.Either way its a new belief to me.

Simple belief will lead you straight to hell, because simple belief only is not verbal confession unto salvation. true repenting or change takes place afterwards....

Romans 10.9-10 says
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Yes sins do separate us from God;

Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that he will not hear.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 8:7
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Romans 8:13
For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

We preach & teach Christ and him crucified. Get em saved God will clean em up. We do not condemn them.( John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. )

I agree. I'm not talking about easy believism. I mean trust, surrender, total surrender to Christ. This is true belief and those who truly believe will confess it for all to hear and those who deny him before others, he will deny before the Father. I also agree that repentance is by the power of God as he causes us to turn from our sins and that requires a true belief and trust. But if someone is denying they need to repent, I believe they have a dead faith as God will always move us to repent if we are in Christ and being conformed to his image. You can't really separate repentance from faith in that sense.

You have so much yet to learn. The Bible plainly tells us why they had to leave the garden (It's right there in the book, for us to read) They were not "booted out" as punishment, but rather, as the Bible clearly states, to keep them from continuing to eat of the Tree of Life..... so that they would be able to die. This was one of the most loving and merciful things God did for them.

Without death, salvation could not come. They would have had to live forever in an unsaved state.

Actually I have heard that idea about the garden of eden, and it sounds nice yeah.

But yeah God hates sins, so much He destroys it. We are told He created hell for satan, and we are told that He said to satan "you have sinned against me". He tells us He is going to strike back at the earth for sinning against Him. He ordered people to be put to death for being sinful. He destroyed sodom for being sinful. He tells us that He hates sin.

Yeah there is no reason to doubt God does not allow sin. He is loving and compassionate enough to forgive us for them yeah. But He told us, He doesnt forgive us because Hes not angry, He does it because Hes slow to anger and quick to forgive. Meaning He is angry but chooses to forgive those who repent to Him.

I sure hope so. It's written right there at the end of chapter 3.

If you teach Christ crucified why was he killed? For a bag of skittles? NO!! To what? Take away the sins of the world!!! You cant preach Christ crucified and not talk about sin and repentance.Cant-do-it!
