I have reached the same conclusion as you Kris regarding politics and voting. I didn't vote last election and it was wonderful, didn't get my mail in ballot. About 20 years ago, I told my brother that I don't believe in politics, he said it was my job to vote to help change things. Looking back at it now, my brother gave me horrible advice.
I considered myself Libertarian, since my brother told me I was Libertarian, and later found out that pretty much everything I believed in, lined up with the Libertarian Party, with some reservation of course. I think your political leanings are what you were born with, at least for me. In high school, people really started getting into politics, and I didn't know what the big deal was. It was just people's opinions about things.
As of now, my political leanings would be a Libertarian-Monarchist. Why someone might ask? Well, God allows everyone to make their own choices on how to live, but Jesus is Lord of Lords, and King of Kinds. So, by definition a Christian is a Monarchist and I think, since God allows people to choose how to live, that also makes Christians, Libertarian. Well, at least this is my view.
People will save themselves much heartache, once they realize politics is rigged, controlled by special interest groups, the elite, corporations, and guided by Lucifer.
