Are we responsible in other people’s sins if we don’t tell them to ask for forgiveness? Anyone has scripture to back this up?

As a believer, one that knows the Word, yes.
'Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn NOT from his wickedness, NOR from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast NOT given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall NOT be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth NOT sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also you hast delivered your soul. ' Ezekiel 3:19-21

Thanks Magenta that helped. I struggle with certain sins and it always felt wrong to rebuke others who struggle with it. I know why now.
Koji, I am glad that link helped. It is such a fine line we walk. It makes me think of things I have heard in the rooms of recovery, things like, there but by the grace of God go I, and, this too shall pass, and, don't let the past steal your present... and, if you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything. They say too, that our recovery is contingent upon the daily maintenance of our spiritual condition. I hope you are finding some success with working daily disciplines into your routines :)

Something I am struggling with Is telling other people about God. I have low self esteem so having people hate me is a tough pill to swallow.

One of the things I always loved about going to meetings (while I was a non-believer) was hearing people talk about their God experiences. They were not preaching or saying you have to do this or you have to do that... just sharing their experiences, strength, and hope. Finding a way to do that in places where there are those who are hostile to God AND those who have fully embraced Him may not be as tricky as it seems. I know I complicate things :geek: Mostly it is fear of judgment and rejection, but over time, that has changed as self-acceptance grew; listening to others, and understanding my own process, really helps a LOT :)

There is also James 5:20 (to bring the NT view into it :))

remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way
will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.

No doubt there are other verses as well :)

Thank you so much for your first post in this thread. One has to wonder if those who reject the moniker of "Christian" due to their criticisms and judgments of Christians, likewise reject the label of human, human nature being what it is. Being judgmental and critical of Christianity has become a great pastime in these last days  How odd that those who are so critical and judgmental of Christians and Christianity do not acknowledge their own critical, judgmental natures. Perhaps when they judge and criticize, they call it "discernment" and it is only others, in their view, whose judgments and criticisms are seen as despicably reprehensible.

Here is a link for you @Kojikun :D
who me judgemental?😁

NA's Just For Today (posted in Bob's CRA thread) talks about how prayer needs to be joined with action. Do you read the posts there on any kind of regular basis? They are from daily devotionals and recovery-oriented materials you may find quite helpful. I know I do, and so does Bob. We especially appreciate the resource we found in Partners in Hope, for it uses Scripture along with a deep understanding of our dysfunctions as human beings. Don't forget that God works through our weaknesses, also :)

Pray, fast, read Scripture every day! Just like we have to eat every day, same with the Word of God.
' It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth (comes) out of the mouth of God.' Mat 4:4
This is not an over nite thing. persistence, and your walk! Just like say, for example, you are watering the yard & little by little the water is coming out of the facet. Why? Because there is alot of calcium that is clogging inside hose. Well it is the same with sin. If we are not genuine that is what affects our walk. 'You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.' 1Cor 10:21. 'The Word of God tells us, 'So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue (vomit) you out of my mouth.' Rev 3:16 .

I had a co worker before who was living in sin of sexual immorality. She has 4 sons from different fathers. She was aware that people were judging her and talking behind her back. She was not repentant, in fact she was proud and would even say that only God can judge her or that nobody is perfect and those who talk behind her back were just jealous of her. To talk some sense into her, I was tempted to tell her, yes God will surely judge you and pour over His wrath to you for all eternity in hell. But i don't want to sound judgmental so I just shut my mouth. Maybe I should have just said the truth.
I think the best comeback to only God can judge me, might be to ask the person what they think God thinks of what they're doing. And if they answer inconsistent with the character of God, then you can ask them what they're basing their thoughts on. You'll probably bring them up short pretty quick because most people when they say only God can judge me seem to mean something more along the lines of I don't have to answer to anyone for my behavior.

im leaning towards your mum being right. Only because mothers tend to communicate in love and for your benefit.
'You shall not respect persons in judgment; but you shall hear the small as well as the great; you shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s ' Deut 1:17
'These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. ' Prov 24:23

When the believer knows the Word and avoids in telling some one the truth because of fear, the Lord does not take this lightly. If the Lord moves you to rebuke or warn a believer, it must be done. In Revelation 21:8 tells us;
'But the FEARFUl, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burne with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. '

If you see your neighbors house burning, I do not believe I would just stand and say, 'O well, I do not want to bother them, or it is not my business' and avoid at all cost; that is the same way with a sinner when individuals will avoid due to fear or 'he/she is going to curse me out or they will get angry'..etc. No excuse, especially if the individual is an elder in the ways of the Lord, they should know better. Not all individuals are given this gift in ministering this way. Some will just pray for them if they feel unsure. But to avoid just because of fear is very dangerous. That is why the Lord tells you in Scripture, Count the Cost when you come to follow Jesus.

My mom said the other day I've become more judgmental when I became christian. Unfortunately I get no good answers from Christian's. Either they say do not judge or they sa actually it says we can judge when the plank is out of our eye. Should I be arrogant enough to think I can see clearly? Either way the change I thought happened seems to be a lie.
What are you judging? Are you judging someone who has spiked green hair and you think they’re stupid for doing so or are you judging people for committing sin and you’re putting distance between you and them. There is nothing wrong with the second scenario.

Dear, I will keep you in prayer that the Lord gives you direction in everything and removes that fear, anxiety and confusion and gives you direction in every way & make you bold as a Lion! May the Lord bless your mind and ears and eyes to see how the Lord wants you to see & hear. There is nothing to difficult for God! These trials will only help you get stronger and able to be use in the things of God! Out of whatever the Lord pulls you out of, that he will use you to minister to others in the same way. I had to come to the end of myself when the Lord rescue me out of this pit of Hell! 'Wherefore I say unto you, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.' Luke 7:47 God bless you richly Kojikun

Believers need to stop saying, 'my fear, my pain, my this or that' I was in a grocery line and this individual I was talking to kept saying, 'My pain & my arthritis'. They make all these ills or sickness personal and they own it. After all, is this not what the enemy wants? The doctor will ask the patient, 'how is your pain?' Why can he not say, 'How is the pain increasing or other rephrased words. When we speak we just say this pain or this arthritis & on and on....
