I asked "Which scripture calls the Body of Christ as the new Israel?"

Are you answering that question with these scripture?
The body of Christ, is Christ's church, also known as "the kingdom of God", "Christ's bride", "the new Jerusalem", "the church of the first born", "the church of God", "the church of Christ", "Zion", "Israel" as the house of Jacob/Israel, and more.

The body of Christ is made up of "all of God's elect" Rev 5:9, which is the invisible church. The visible church is "the remnant" of the elect that have been revealed the truths contained in the doctrine of Jesus. This is explained in Ezk 10 as being a wheel within a wheel. The outer wheel being all of God's elect, and the inner wheel, being the remnant.

The two gates described in Matt 7 harmonizes with this; The wide gate, being all of God's elect that are believing in, and preaching a false doctrine, and are considered to be babes in Christ that stand in need of being taught the knowledge of God's righteousness.

The straight gate, being the remnant of God's elect, with the purpose of instructing the babes in Christ in the knowledge of God's righteousness. The "life" mentioned in the straight gate, is not eternal life, but that good, and peaceful life that we can live here on earth, if we will follow, and do God's commandments.

You seem to seeing something in the scriptures where a specific thing happens then deducting this always happens, same wa

No it doesn't say anything about salvation . God works in people ALREADY saved .
"God works in people already saved" is a true statement. You are not as dumb in the knowledge of the scriptures, as you try to present yourself to be. You seem to be entertained by toying with people's explanations.

Sometimes it's helpful to walk through stuff rather than just blanket statements and posts. I'm learning like everyone else .

We were all born into this world as natural beings. Here is the only way that as a natural man we can be saved; 1. Christ died as a sacrifice to God for the payment of the sins of those that God gave to him. Sometime in their lifespan, God quickened them to a spiritual life Eph 2:1 and quickened them together with Christ, putting the Holy Spirit within them, Eph 2:5.

Notice in verse 1 that this quickening took place while the natural man was still spiritually dead in his sins. and had nothing to do with him being quickened. That's why it is referred to as a gift of God. It is by God's sovereign grace, without any help from man.
Still applying your interpretation of 1 Cor. 2:14, no one can be saved....

What the context shows that this 'quickening' is through faith.

Yes the faithfulness of God's labor of love does the work of quickening in natural man, to both will and and empower us to do the good pleasure . We are to believe without murmuring. Not like Jonas who was stubbornly moved against his own will .But like our example Jesus who drank the cup delighting to do the will of the father.

The daily bread we receive from heaven builds a lasting faith .

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Also, I think what throws most sincere christians off, to thinking that "their faith" saves them is Eph 2:8, but the faith mentioned in this verse is "the faith of Jesus Christ". Gal 2:16 will harmonize with this truth; Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law (their faith), but by the faith "OF" Jesus Christ.

The KJV says faith "OF" Jesus Christ, yet numerous other translations say faith "IN" Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:16 (ESV) - yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith "IN" Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith "IN" Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Galatians 2:16 (NAS) - nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith "IN" Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith "IN" Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.

Galatians 2:16 (NKJV) - knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith "IN" Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith "IN" Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

Galatians 2:16 (NIV) - know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith "IN" Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith "IN" Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

Jesus Christ is the author and finished of "OUR" faith.. (Hebrews 12:2)

In 1 Peter 1:9, we read - receiving the end of "YOUR" faith—the salvation of your souls.

Believers exercise faith "IN" Jesus Christ.

Faith, the key that unlocks the gates of hell and binds the faithless deceiver. No desire to do the will of another.

Don't leave earth without it.

Yes Faith of (coming from) our Faithful Creation who both willed His good pleasure and performed it. "Let there be" (the will) . . . . "and it was good " pleasing to the eye..

If we would have that faith of God as the work of God in respect to own self or others seen then we have blasphemed his name or power by which he calls us like the foolish Galatians . Which is according to His good will and the power working in us to perform it. Working softening our new hearts.

Our rest from our own works .Making the burden lighter..

It would seem the opening loving Commandment in James 2 .setting the context of the whole chapter 2. That speaks to our new hearts. I would offer it is misunderstood . As a result some men will pit James against Paul making it about flesh and blood and not the words that came to the apostles. Not coming to a understanding of faith the (unseen) . And in the end making the "faith of Christ" powerless to bring His promise..

James 2:1 King James Version (KJV)
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. (or self)

Refusing to obey the understanding which is not of our selves comes to the conclusion of faith.

James 2:7 King James Version (KJV) Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

yes the end of our faith from the moment we first heard the gospel and believed God not seen. Our first love His working in us .Like Philippians 1:6 If he began the good work of his faith in us "salvation" He will finish the promise of faith

There is a different in how the word in and of is used . Even from one translation to another. Its one of the key words that can get turned upside down and loses the understanding of the Potter .

Of coming from Him towards us .In towards Him as a result of his faith working in us.

So yes in Christ who works in us. . . of Christ.

Galatians used both in the context of one work

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

I am aware of the other versions that have changed the wording, I believe that the KJV most closely harmonizes the scriptures.

Its my favorite version.

The way I understand it both sides, the Conservatives and liberals, attempted to put aside their differences.

Some followed the laws of interpretation. Others literalized the signified meanings hid in parables .

Scripture please. Scripture proves scripture.
Umm, I would be expecting your next post to be the same. Prove with scripture and this will be great. God bless...
1 Peter 1:21-23

King James Version

21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

I believe the KJV got it correct and there's no problem with this. We are save by the 'faith of' if 'we believed in Jesus Christ".

Jackrosie, additionally, we are also quicken by the word of God.

Hebrews 4:12

King James Version

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
