Are you kids still playing around in the kiddie pool of water baptism.

FYI - water baptism is never mentioned in Revelation - where Reality takes over
So what ...not mentioned in many other books of the Bible...and your point is?

But it is listed here for your benefit;

Baptism is Required

Peter 3: 21.... whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...

John 3:5 .......Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2;38-....Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22;16... And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Galations 3:26...... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

KJV Marrk 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

KJV Matthew 3:14... But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15. Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfil all rightesousness. Then He suffered Him.

KJV Matthew 28:19..... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:.

Acts 8:12-18: But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

John 3; 22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Is that enough or do you need more?
Peter 3;21 is all anyone should need.

Quote from Billy Graham that is note worthy;
....Also, to clarify I did not say remission of sin takes place at repentance. Scripture makes it clear that it occurs upon obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Each is a step of faith, along with receiving the Holy Ghost, in the process of one's spiritual rebirth

.."Paul explains the doctrinal significance of what occurs when one is baptized. His explanation is found in his letter to those who had already been obedient to the command.

Paul tells the Roman Christians what actually occurred when they were/are baptized; they were baptized into His death. Being buried with Jesus into His death resulted in their sin being destroyed.

Even though Paul explains this concept, the NEW AGE RELIGION TEACHING is......... that water baptism is nothing other than a mere public display.......... And that is so far removed from the truth.

.......If you were baptized for some reason other than for forgiveness of sins in order to be saved then you do not have salvation and you are still lost. Who are you going to follow: God or man? As our Lord warns us in Matthew 15:14, "And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch." Don't allow someone, who has added to and taken away from God's word, to lead you. Open your eyes and read God's word for yourself. Those who have added to and taken away from God's word will be lost. If you continue to follow them, then you too will be lost.

Keep in mind that Satan knows if he can continue to perpetuate that lie ...... he can keep people from entering the kingdom of God. Thus He has proven scripture which says ...in the end times there will be ...great delusions.....they are here.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).

Starting in Gen 1
Each day God performs work. "And then the was evening and then there was morning" and that was (each) day.
The word for "Morning" is:
Strong's Hebrew: 1242. בֹּ֫קֶר (boqer) -- morn- ing
https://biblehub.com/hebrew/1242.htm
Definition. morn- ing. NASB Translation. dawn (1), dawn* (2), day (1), daybreak (1), every morning (5), morning (195), mornings (2), soon (1), tomorrow morning (1)

This word does not mean "10 AM". It literally means "the light before the sun rises".
After the sun rises, the word used in Hebrew is "Yom" or "Yomam", which means "day or daytime".

The day of atonement is the 10Th day of the 7th month
But this 24-hr. period starts on the 9th at evening and goes through the 10th Daytime and ends at EVENING on the 10th
See, the evening before the 10th is the 9th!

Lev 23
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God.

29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

30 And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.

31 Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

do you need more? we can look in exodus about gathering manna.
Or when Moses judges the people all day, from morning until evening.

I hope this helps.
Thank you for explaining your point of view.

JeffA - are you a 7th Day Adventist or attend and believe the doctrines of?

Then you are sin/unbelief, NOT because you choose to set aside Saturday as a day unto the LORD(which is GOOD) but because you seek to add to the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross by saying "one must obey Saturday sabbath".
No, I am not affiliated with Any denomination. Never been to a 7th day service, even.

Paul kept the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for Man.
All believers in Christ kept ALL of the commandments. The Sunday worship "thing" is man-made.
No problem gathering on Sunday. I go to church on Sunday. But it is No the Sabbath.
God's Laws do NOT change. Nor were any nullified.

Jesus did not abolish the Sabbath. Sorry for your misunderstanding of scripture.

I don't believe we have to do our best to follow the 10 commandments in order to remain saved, death having no effect.

Nothing can take the saved in Christ from Jesus hand.

Keep it in context;

Saved...is after we die and are Judged for eternal salvation.

On earth we are ...born again...only. One can loose ............born again .......status if backsliding occurs.

Neither can you become an un-son of God.

I agree. What I mean is that since we are born again, we will naturally want to do our very best to Honor God by keeping his commandments. Also, we would want to treat each other with love.
Of course, we will stumble. Jesus gave us a reason to keep trying. Otherwise, who could be redeemed?

Brother Jeff, the Saturday sabbath (small s) is not the Sabbath REST of God.
Saturday is a sabbath day under the law of Moses.

The 7th DAY of REST is CHRIST spoken of by Elohim in Genesis.

And the LORD said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites, ‘Surely you must keep My Sabbaths, for this will be a sign between Me and you for the generations to come, so that you may know that I am the LORD who sanctifies you. Keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Anyone who profanes it must surely be put to death. Whoever does any work on that day must be cut off from among his people. For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.
The Israelites must keep the Sabbath, celebrating it as a permanent covenant for the generations to come. It is a sign between Me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, but on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.’ ”
Exodus ch31

If any work is done on Saturday it is DEATH.

Because of CHRIST, i am FREE of the law of sin and death = no saturday observance in effect anymore.
This does not mean you cannot worship or set aside Saturday Sunday Monday = any day you choose.

The REST is in CHRIST and HIM alone.

The Sabbath (Saturday) was NOT instituted by Moses. Adam even kept the Sabbath.
The Sabbath was the 7th day of creation. It did not start with Moses.

Freedom from Death is NOT freedom from the Law.
For by the Law are we judged righteous.
Without Law there is no Sin or Righteousness.
Through Jesus we are saved from the Death that Sin brings. Not "saved from the Law".
ACTS 7-8 explains it very well.

Dear Jeff the law is Death because no one can keep it, just as the Scripture declares in both the OT and the NT.

Because of the ETERNAL JOY of CHRIST, no one can please the Father seeking to drink the 'old wine' of OT law.

The WHOLE COMPLETE REASON for the 7th DAY spoken by Elohim in Genesis is CHRIST = CHRIST is the 7th DAY of REST.

At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Choose your Yoke - law or CHRIST

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter. And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
(Jeff, this is your BEST Choice) =

"But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.
Acts 15:6-11

No law saved the Apostles but the Grace of our Savior Jesus Christ
No sabbath day of the week command given by our LORD or the Apostles - except ONE = John 3:16-21

Except Jesus and his Disciples worked on the Sabbath and were not put to death. And after Jesus went home, the Apostles continued to honor the Sabbath on the day God ordained in the beginning, Saturday. Starting at sunset on Friday unto sunset on Saturday.

"And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and morning were the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made" Genesis1: 31 and Genesis 2:1-3

Maybe at this juncture John 15 could shed some light on this matter of water. Jesus said, I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

Titus 3:4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. God. Who created the Sabbath day of rest for us, not us for his Sabbath day.
Mark 2:27 And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. "

Author: Paul
Hebrews 4:
1.Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.[a] 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,

“They shall not enter my rest.”

6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,”
saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God[b] would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Wrong.
It is pervasive in scriptures...here is an example;

Bible verses related to Born Again from the King James Version (KJV) by Relevance. John 3:1-8 - There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: (Read More...) John 3:3 - Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
The Bible says born of water and sprite, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

We grow up in Christ as we still in the womb and will born again in the kingdom of God.

We should gie rid of old things,And accept all new things about the kingdom of God.

If you steal a candy bar from the store, as I have, you shall not face DEATH. This Death (the consequence of the Law) has been defeated by Jesus Christ. It is the same with the Sabbath.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Therefore, we are FREE TO OBEY THE LAW.

Today I am going to sweep the patio and clean the grill. Is this breaking the Sabbath?
I think not. I'll be enjoying God's presence. I'll be preparing for a day when friends come to visit and worship Him.
I'm not worried about anyone looking over my shoulder to tally my every discretion.
I am Free to rest in His Holy Day (which was made for ME).
I probably won't do any "wage work". The spirit in my heart will know my selfish ways and correct me.
I don't need anyone else to tell me. I don't need the guidance of any "man".

I take it back on the "Wage Work". My son and I will be playing music at Church service this afternoon.
We do receive pay for this ministry. So far, my heart has not condemned me for it.
As I walk and learn, I may discover that I'm doing something wrong in God's eyes.
If so, I will change my behavior in obedience. (BUT WITHOUT FEAR OF THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH).

No, faith OUGHT to involve action. That was James' point.

Listen closely to James 2:18
But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds. Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds."

I will point out that I moved the second quote mark from after the first "deeds" to after the second "deeds". I did this because the verse makes NO SENSE where all the translations place that second quote mark.

The "someone" actually says the whole verse: you have faith; I have deeds. Show me (the someone) your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith BY MY DEEDS.

iow, the "someone" begins by noting he has deeds. But the next sentence shows that he says that he can "show you" his faith BY HIS DEEDS.

This "someone" is addressing another who "has faith". So the "someone" is challenging the other person to show him his faith without any deeds.

The point is; a believer cannot show their faith apart from their deeds.

And that was the example James gave in v.15,16.
15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.
16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?

iow, it isn't any good. Words don't meet needs. Actions do.

No, read the text:

14 One of those listening was a woman from the city of Thyatira named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth. She was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message.
15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us.

There is NOTHING about "the NEED to be baptized". She simply WAS baptized. You are misreading the text.

First, these 12 hadn't received the Holy Spirit, and didn't even know the Spirit existed. All they were aware of what John's baptism of repentance. So Paul had them baptized in the name of the Lord. But there is NOTHING in the text about baptism being required for salvation. They were Gentiles, and like the Gentiles in Acts 8, they didn't receive the Spirit by water baptism. They received the Spirit by the laying on of hands.

Why do you always insert the word "the need to be" where there is NO such wording. When the jailer asked Paul what he MUST DO to be saved, Paul's answer was the gospel: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. That's it.

The fact that they WERE baptized doesn't prove that it "is required".

Let's take a peek into what Paul preached, shall we?

1 Cor 15-
1 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand.
2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.
6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.
7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles,
8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
11 Whether, then, it is I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.

Paul begins by reminding the Corinthians what he had preached to them in v.1. In v.2 he tells them they ARE SAVED because they possessed the gospel that he preached.

Then, in v.3 Paul lists what he considered of "first importance". And he ends this segment by saying "this is what we preach, and this is what you believed".

So Paul was acknowledging that they were saved (v.2) because they believed (v.11).

Now, please point out where Paul included water baptism that he preached to the Corinthians.

1 The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God,
2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way” —
3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ”
4 And so John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
5 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

Huh? This is about John's baptism, not "Christian baptism". It has no relevance to Christian baptism.

This is Paul's view of John's baptism in Acts 19-
3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied.
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

Pretty clear. John's baptism had nothing to do with salvation. It was about repentance that led to a change in behavior. That does NOT save. And note that even the water baptism Paul administered didn't result in the 11 receiving the Spirit. It was AFTER the baptism that Paul "laid his hands on them" and THEN they received the Spirit.

So none of the verses you quote help you out.
"Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did." James 2:21-22

Jeff, the LORD never revoked this Commandment:

6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,

YOU MISSED IT COMPLETELY - Hebrews is speaking of CHRIST being the REST of GOD
not Saturday or Sunday

the LORD JESUS CHRIST is the REST of GOD

They were not put to death = WHY???
