Jesus Christ is my salvation. I believed the gospel of Jesus Christ.

1. hear the gospel
2. believe the gospel
3. sealed by the Spirit
4. predestinated unto the adoption, the redemption of the body

Amen, true to the teachings of Christ Jesus.

Of course. If he didn't, he wouldn't belong to Christ...Romans 8:9. Did he belong to Christ?

Salvation hasn't changed. It has always been by grace...Noah found grace in the sight of the Lord...through faith...Abraham believed God.
Yet, both Noah and Abraham were not predestined to be the Bride of Christ.

They were not chosen IN HIM before the foundation of the world to become the Lord's Helpmate.

We need to read what it says. Not what we want it to say.

Problem is: Those who lock onto illogical dogma have no keys hanging outside their cell, for others to help them to get out.
Someone threw away the keys.
Imagine the state of being of someone who CHOOSES to remain inside their prison cell after SEAL Team Six rappels from a Black Hawk Helicopter, incapacitates the guards, gets the keys and opens the cell doors.

Anyoo.......the takeaway I get from hearing the doomer Calvinite dogmatic droning is confirmation of my own freedom. Yup I got it. And I get it. I did indeed escape. Lucky me.

Feels like I won the lottery man.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then,
and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of
slavery." Galatians 5:1

To see men free in the Devil's world makes Satan realize he has sweat glands..

Yoke of slavery = TULIP.

:devilish: "You will, and must and force the illogical to be the logical!"

You must besmirch the character of God!
Done in the name of saying it is His sovereignty!

I'll be right back.

Got to go to a Catholic church to confess my sins to some priest.

@John146 is correct and how much later did the letter to Romans occur?
Truth is truth. Simply because it is revealed at a later time doesn't make it less true before it is known. Did bacteria always exist or only come into existence when they were discovered? Were humans not always made up of cells or did this occur when cells were discovered? We are still discovering things inside a cell. Simply because God has revealed truth gradually through history doesn't mean the truths didn't already exist.

And did you open your own eyes, unstop your own ears, circumcise your own
heart, and raise yourself to new life in Christ, or did Jesus do that for you?

He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.

Sure they were. Just because it wasn't revealed when they were alive doesn't mean they weren't. Jesus said Abraham saw His day and rejoiced in it.

God's sovereign decrees are necessary, not because of any mechanisms within him or constraints from without,

I am always impressed how they have the same expressions, similar rhetoric... they sound like John Calvin.

"God's sovereign decrees"

Can any of them ever state "God is Love" without the proverbial coordinating conjuction .... "but"

They became "aware they were saved" .... how does that work.

That "special gnosis" and avoidance of stating any personal persuasion of hearing and believing.

If CDS does exists, perhaps it is because of how they have made what was once regarded a peripheral doctrine not supported by scripture into a acceptable doctrine to so many over time.

But it is a glorious thing to be released from that dogmatism, I concur.

Me thinks you missed the point.

Who are "they"? Any you disagree with? Those you lie about?

Scripture attests that God is love. You are the one who denies what Scripture says.

1 John 4:8b~ God is Love

Right on target sister. You possess expert marksmanship.

Head on a swivel when dealing with these Calvinites. And a good pair of cowboy boots will come in handy when traversing this viper infested territory.

You do not comprehend what it means to be the Bride of Christ.

John the Baptist was to remain being an OT Jew.
He knew he was not going to be the Bride which would mean he would have to remain alive to live in the Church age.

Here are John's words!

The bride belongs to the bridegroom.
The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him,
and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice.
That joy is mine, and it is now complete. John 3:29

John knew he was the friend of the Bridegroom, not the Bride of Christ.
There is it is! Read what He told us...

The bride belongs to the bridegroom.
The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him,
and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice.
That joy is mine, and it is now complete. John 3:29

Yes. Abraham rejoiced with the same rejoicing as John the Baptist.

Someone wrote a book about learning all they needed to know about life they learned in kindergarten. All anyone needs to learn about salvation can be found in Genesis:

Chapter 3...blood atonement
Chapter 3...righteousness covering
Chapter 4...call on the name of God
Chapter 6...grace
Chapter 12...faith

All there in black and white. Easy peasy.
