Millions of heterosexual men and women live celibate, and in many cases it is "cold turkey." You just stop fornicating and never go back to fornicating. When the love of your life is Jesus Christ, celibacy is a blessing. If heterosexuals that love the Lord can go cold turkey, homosexials can, too, if they love the Lord. It's that simple.
U didnt even read what he said. I guess it must be lonely being perfect and all.

And that's the problem. Zero love. Meanwhile porn addicted heterosexual adulterers sit in the pews in your church without challenge. I guarantee it.
YEP. and comparing going cold turkey with a hetero, vs a homo, is like comparing a non alcoholic giving up drinking to an alcoholic giving up drinking. apples and oranges.
I hate to say it, but that guy doesnt even read, or even consider others pov. He has his message, he puts it in his bazooka and blows things apart spreading it.
I think your style is much more inviting to non believers and draws them in instead of driving them away.
Gods blessings to you man

Listen, when so and so posts a message proclaiming his active homosexual lifestyle for the world to see, he or she is first not living a Christian lifestyle and secondly is not interested in anything else but generating messages of affirmation of his homosexuality. When he or she then receives messages critical of his pride of homosexuality, expect backlash. You can coddle him or her all you want. Jesus knows his or her heart, and how much of an abomination his or her homosexual lifestyle is to God.
Clearly you have not read a word I have said. You only see what you want see to because you are blinded by self righteous hatred.

let me spell it out for you yet again.

I DO NOT CLAIM THAT BEING GAY AND SEXUALLY ACTIVE IS ANYTHING LESS THAN SINFUL.

As the only openly gay person in this thread, I have suggested over and over that the debate is not and should not be whether homosexuality defined as sin in scripture. That's not up for debate - the bible OT and new makes it clear that sexual activity among people of the same gender is offensive to God.

The real debate and where everyone is failing is how to help Gay people move forward and closer to Christ. The vast majority want to write the sinner off with the sin. And that is not right either. Some want to throw an olive branch, but expect gay people to go cold turkey and just stop being gay instantaneously. Again, while magnificent if achievable, reality dictates humans are sinful by nature and it may not be a smooth pathway.

I've suggested another way a few times now, but it gets ignored or shot down. And that is 'The long road home'. This is the one way that will help gay people make permanent, lasting change little by little. And it works like this;

1) Jesus loves YOU! (The Christian community have spent so many hours telling gay people God hates them that it is just accepted as fact by us)
2) You were designed with purpose
3) Letting Jesus in
4) Taking stock of where we are now and where we need to be heading
5) Repentance
6) Forgiveness
7) A life of atonement in the knowledge that we are who we are and our flesh nature is contrary to God's will
8) Working toward becoming a Eunuch for the glory of God (chastity) (Matthew 19:12)

None of this will be a walk in the park, but Jesus himself said that it is easier for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle than achieve the Kingdom of heaven. ie The promise is great, but the journey is not necessarily going to be easy.
Sexual sin is sexual sin, I wonder how many here who have committed heterosexual sin, yet will judge you and not themselves and themselves Equally accountable as you

sexual sin is an addiction, it’s why it is so hard to break. One of my elders is a former openly gay person, he is currently married and had two kids, he said the truth. It was God that healed him. When he would be judged by Christians, it just made him hate God and Christianity more, it was love and forgiveness that won him over,

sadly a lot on the church has forgot this fact, they forgot, Jesus hung out with sinners and was called out by the religious people. He loved them, the sinners, and they fell in love with him, and their lives changed,

legalism never cured anyone, of the debt of sin or sin itself!

Yes, I'm sure you're right about hetero adultery and porn addicts. I'm certain that when hetero adulterers and porn addicts come out of the closet and proclaim their pride aloud for being adulterers and porn addicts and start to march in parades with a flag mocking a promise God made to Noah, they'll likely see the same response to their disgusting behavior that the homosexual has seen toward theirs.
Yea, porn addicts and adulterers, Im sure have experienced the same treatment by society that homosexuals have. GET REAL DUDE. YOu analogies suck

It’s not my place to judge

1. I do not know him
2. he is not under my discipleship or church heirarchy
3. I do not know if he is saved, so as such, I need to give him the gospel and live him as Jesus did. Not attack him like the pharisee did

you wanna be a pharisee pumping your chest, feel free. I will judge you as Jesus judged them

Not everyone matures in Christ as fast as the next person. There are people who have lifelong stuggles with drugs, alcohol, sexual purity both straight and gay. My father was a smoker in his youth, he came to Christ and never smoked again. But there are people here who stuggle with it and have for a long time. Again, not everyone gains victory over the struggle right away. And it's wrong to judge those people and bar them from God's grace and mercy.
correct. How difficult it is for an alcoholic to stop drinking is no comparuson to a normal drinker stopping. Just a note, one reason your dad could cold turkey is because today they put additives in the cigs to make giving it up more difficult. Addiction to nicotine isnt that difficult actually, but their additives, very addicting.
Thats why the patch doesnt always work, and when it does, there is still a lot of struggle.

Are their openly professing gay people in here? If there are, biblical counseling says we are take them to the side and discuss the issue with them, even after this, when we see no repentance, we take another brother or sister, only after pleading and help and continual refusal to listen do we bring them in front of the church and ask them to confess, if they refuse, we ask Them to leave and not come back until they repent,

is this what’s going on here?

yeah I do criticize, I criticize people who call out certain sins judge them while ignoring their own sin, your not going to win a lost soul by judging a sin issue, they must come to Jesus first and be born again, then and only then can they find healing,

i DISAGREE, this is an open forum where no one can substantiate the claim one makes after trying to set up people from their past comments. The person who has said they are gay openly on this forum did so after professing to know it is Biblically unacceptable AND CLAIMING TO BE A CHRISTIAN. No one has judged anyone you came in here with a wrong understanding of the discussion.

So I was wrong on what the word says about how the church is to discipline its members?

come on man, you can do better than this.

who in this room knows this person enough to take him to the side as required?

yeah I did not think so

Try abstinence and live a celibate life. God has given us the Holy Spirit with the nine fruits thereof, one of which is of self-control. I've told you my thoughts. Happy trails.

FYI, nobody here is disciplining anyone. the person is not wanting to be taken to the side. Ok, he came here with an agenda to let everyone know he is gay. Go back and read the past posts. You came in where just because someone disagreed with your friend and you thought it was time to wear the " s " and cape. No, it is not.

ok, you got that last sentence right. The FINISHED WORK, the work is finished. Done, Completed. the other sentence, people dont go to hell beccause of a lifestyle. They go to hell because they dont BELIEVE Jesus, just as adam and eve didnt believe God in the garden of eden.
Disbelief leads to rejection of the HOly Spirit. NO HS and you cant go to heaven.

And love does not REQUIRE you to tell people they are sinning and going to hell because of it, for two reasons. IT ISN'T EVEN TRUE. You go to hell because , see above.

And its not your posistion to judge others. Let the HS convict them. Your job is to show them the light, they way to salvation. In doing so, they will see the sin of themselves all on their own. Its not your place to point it out. If you point it out, it will only drive them away.

Dont harp on the negative, the sin. Harp on the positive, of the gift bestowed to them. In the OT they had to harp on sin because Jesus's gift of salvation hadn't come yet. But we who truly understand that gift do not go around judging , and driving away , people
Affirming sinful behavior is what false teachers and preachers do, and those that are led by the hyper-grace movement are on the broad way. I do pray for all y'all. ❤

YOU DONT EVEN READ WHAT I POST.
BUT FOR OTHERS WHO MIGHT. :
John 1:16-17
For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (ESV)
Romans 3:23-24
... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus ... (ESV)
Romans 6:14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. (ESV)
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God ... (ESV)
God's grace wasnt bestowed upon us until his death.
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people ... (ESV)

Grace wasnt bestowed upon us until His death. Grace and truth came through Jesus.
How do u figure adam and eve recived grace from God. He kicked them out of the garden of eden.
You'll never understand grace if you follow your hyper-grace false teachers and preachers. My prayers for all y'all. ❤

How do you know that isn't what I'm doing already?

There's a lot of assumptions being made about my personal life here. But I forgive you all.

May the peace of love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ be upon you ✝️

Actually I did come inhere looking for perfect people. Because I have seen so many threads like this by legalists, and they make me sick. Not just to defend a friend. Once again your spider sense has failed you
it’s funny someone told me that lovely correcting (disciplining) a brother was fine, so who is right, your or him?

I also find it amazing you are her judging someone who openly confesses his sin, yet refuse to judge slanderers amd liars who are here everyday telling people what they say twisting their words to make it appear they said something else and outright lieing openly against a brother, who refuses to acknowledge and admit their sin, and you say not a word to them

double standard because it’s not a dangerous sin in your view?

and ps. The op was not admitting to being gay, amd he was spot on he the legalistic church offers hope and love but quickly remove that hope if the person does not change over night,

I lived in that church, I experienced it, don’t tell me what I am doing or try to guess my intentions, you have no idea what they are.

Get to love when people in an open chat room assume things about people they never met
