Steps in sanctificatiuon

The first step in sanctification is to KNOW we have eternal life. This is the basis of our whole christian life. As John said, if it is the fact we KNOW this, that allows us to CONTINUE to believe in his name, Even in the bad time. Even when we stumble. Even when we struggle. Which we will.

It is this knowledge which allows us to be like paul. Allows us to consider even the most horrific pain as momentary light afflictions. And it is what enables us to love our enemies and those who are against us. It also allows us to forgive others.

This knowledge (our position in christ) is the most important true a believer will take. There are times when we lose faiht in this. When we will struggle. And our flesh and satan want to make sure we do not understand this, because of what it can do to us.

the second step is to get in tough with a more mature believer, One who you trust. One who you are not afraid to be open with in all areas. This relationship allows one on one teaching, as well as prevents you from trying to do it all on your own, Hiding sin issues, and never finding healing. If you can not feel you can confess all yoru sins to that person. Then you need to find someone you can

the third step is to get into a local body. A group of believers where you can be part of a community, Find a community who focuses on relationships. Fellowship. Loves to break bread (eat together) believes in prayer a main part of your body life (personal and public) and of course s sound in biblical teaching.

the fourth step is to learn to love, Take steps of faith. learn that God can be trusted. Learn that you can stop trusting in self (the root cause of sin) and start to serve and love others. In doing this, learn the fruits of the spirit. The more you do this, the more you realise Gods way is more blessed. And the more you realize, every time you do it yourself you crash and burn.

Finally, Person devotions and prayer. Spending time alone with God in his word and in prayer. God wants to have a relationship with you, this takes personal time. You would not tell your wife you will see her wed night and sunday.

Finally. Sacrifice you needs, realize God will take care of your needs through others or himself. The more you do this, the more you realize. God does do what he promises.

those people abused the gospel by wanting it both ways, sin and salvation, they never repented, as Jude said, they deny Jesus, their future was alreadynset in stone

they were never saved, no more than the jews in galations who tried to pervert the gospel by adding works

both gospels are rooted in pride.

20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

if he opened this op to speak about personal discipleship or Christian growth it would be ok.

I was saying ok to your reply

that has already been shed on our behalf

you attack people personally and that is your greatest weakness but I am not going down that path with you anymore

I agree and thank you.

I don't answer to ANY man.

Their true self reveals every time they make posts.

well actually I think we should answer to each other and we are supposed to be accountable

however, I understand what you are saying and I believe we are and should be led by the Holy Spirit

further, there is no need to turn all these threads into the same debate

it's not just tiresome it is also irresponsible because no one can say anything without a small select group ganging up on them

they will claim freedom of speech but only if they are allowed to exercise it apparently

1 Peter 1v13-16

13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

Why is this confusing to so many here?

> Revelation of Jesus Christ
>>Grace is brought/given (Holy Spirit)
>>>Obedience flows herefrom, and is your choice.
>>>>Holiness is a requirement post your conversion experience.
>>>>>If the above wasn't necessary, it wouldnt be included in the Word of God.

yes

some are so intent on emphasizing grace, which of course is God's alone ability to bestow upon us through the sacrifice of His Son, that they REFUSE to consider other scripture while claiming they are obedient to said scripture

as we never get to discuss it, I suspect it may be only theory to some

If the above wasn't necessary, it wouldn't be included in the Word of God
just so

Sound familiar? It should; they’re your childish, ignorant words of malice. Carry on.

Don't let some people see you saying that!

Because, in their minds? They do indeed run the place.

You could ask 'em. But, they'd deny it! ;)

Being the good christian people they are.

I smell the distinct odor of paranoia

everything is about them when really nothing is about them

they don't run the place

and they are not overseers and neither are they in church or any other position of authority

no I'm not mocking

things really need to calm down big time

why would I mock you when we have already had a major tussel

I doubt you OR I want to do that again

I forgive you but I wasn't really holding it against you....it's like paranoia has set in...

I really do wish folks would try to have a discussion without the personal jibes

(5) Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

(7) In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

(11) Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

(15) And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
(17) And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Col 3:5-17 ESV

It was our past interactions that made me think that, I Assumed. Which then in turn, I made a “a“ of myself

and I do not want to go there again either

Jez yer "typical" lib-tards at work!
Accusing EVERYONE else, what they themselves ALONE are doing!
And, when they can't win the argument?
Resort to name calling.
