I hear the barking of a religionist peddling fallacy........and you can forget it.....there is one gospel of SALVATION and it has been proclaimed from Genesis 3:15 to the last angel flying through the midst of Heaven saying fear God and give him the glory pal!
Given in picture, type, shadow, direct verbiage, words, paintings of scripture and on and on and on....and like MOST, if not all religionists, you think you have a tale to tell and some bright idea that makes you look like you know what you are talking about and only those with no knowledge stare into your message like a bug flying into an electric bug zapper......oblivious and blinded by the dazzling purple light!!!!!

What did they think “redeem Israel“ meant? Go back to chapter one.
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
They were searching for a physical deliverance from their enemies so they could serve God without fear. They were looking for the kingdom of Israel to be restored.

Yes, for us after the cross. But the disciples had no clue before the cross. They did not understand that Jesus was going to die and rise again. It was hid from their understanding until after it was accomplished.
Luke 18
31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:

You obviously do not understand the word of or from which comes from the same Greek word......you view makes the Gospel coming FROM the Gentiles....Of or from = source......another erroneous view.....
The Gentiles HAD no gospel....SALVATION IS OF THE JEWS......not the Gentiles!!!!

Christ had both revealed and hidden it from them for His purpose.
The truth of the resurrection could not be compromised by any action on their part.
Yet the truth was not hidden from his enemies they placed the stone in front of the tomb.
This passage only demonstrates how God worked perfectly to bring His ONE plan to fruition.
